Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Casa and O.J.’s Room Suite. It’s been described as: Eccentric, comfortable, cozy, quiet, peaceful and of course whimsical. The Suite comes with a private entrance, outdoor porches and patios. Centrally located between Burlington, Middlebury and Vergennes. Also near Ski Resorts; Sugarbush, Mad River and Middlebury Snow Bowl. Yet far enough away tucked up inside the Green Mountain National Forest for a full rural Vermont experience.

The space
Casa and O.J.’s is inside The Old Hotel. A former Hotel on the Coach run to Montpelier.
Inside the Suite: A very comfortable bedroom, sitting and bathroom. A small fridge, coffee maker and microwave too. A small token is also provided (Sweet or savory) and water is in the fridge. The bathroom is stocked with local products when possible but always non-sulfuric. All is organic and animal cruelty free. A/C and Heat is adjusted by the heat pump via remote. (Instructions in end table).

Outside Grounds: The grounds outside are Hotel, in good weather, are full of gardens to enjoy. A fire pit out back is great for evening gatherings. Also in the back is a large patio with tables and chairs. Many paths also wander the gardens. Two very large porches allow for enjoying both sides of the Hotel. The Front enjoys lots of sun and one can enjoy the bustle of a small town. (The screen porch is private). The back is very quiet and looks over all the English Cottage style gardens and an old paddock.
Area: Food is plentiful so lets start there. Lots of local options for eating out with award winning options and local hot spots. In town is the General Store. The local Mercantile that sells all the staples as well as a pretty good wine and beer selection. Also delicious sweets, wraps, sandwiches, soups and stews. A great place to catch up on all the local gossip and get a taste of Vermont flavor. Beyond, in Bristol, are the first options for restaurants, and it does not disappoint. The Bobcat Cafe, Snaps, Cubbers Pizza, and several local markets as well as chain pharmacy and supermarket.
Also within an Hours Drive are many options and activities. Farms, Middlebury College, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen Ski resorts, Rivers and Creeks for kayaking, white water and fishing. Lake Champlain and its many views, ferry’s and water sports are 20 minutes out. Hiking and Bike are plentiful. We are 5 mins to the Long Trail and can be used as a stop on the way or a staging area.
There are also Massage Therapists available upon request.
However the real beauty of this place is to just sit and relax and enjoy the community

Common spaces are available for use as well. A large kitchen, gathering room and music room are available.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use outdoor Porches, gardens and yard. Indoors the Music room, Gathering room and kitchen are available too.

During your stay
While we love to host guests we also respect their privacy and hope you will reciprocate. We are always available for any questions you may have but we do appreciate our privacy as I am certain you, the guests, do as well.

Other things to note
A few things you may want to note:
1. Hot water does come, but it take a few minutes to get from one end of the house to the other! Also it is a pressure sensitive system so be aware that pressure changes can cause a shock of cold water. It will return to hot.
2. Many places close between 6-8pm, so plan food runs in advance.

Neighborhood highlights

Lincoln is all about community. We are a rural mountain town that enjoys its neighbors and surrounding areas. To find out about the local’s and anything going on its best to stop by the General Store. Like any quintessential Vermont General Store this is the place to catch up on the neighbors, issues, and goings on about town. (They also have great baked goods and wines.). Activities in town require more exertion but are definitely worth the effort. From hiking and biking the many back roads, trails and hikes; to fishing, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing or kayaking. There are plenty of vistas, views and just plain beautiful mountain scenery.
But it you need a little more convenience, Bristol is just down the road 10 minutes with town parks, restaurants and storefronts
