I would recommend a stay with the Mettbach family at Adolphsburg Castle to anyone. The place is beautifully furnished with attention to detail - when we arrived the heating was already on, Christmas music was playing & the Christmas tree was lit. At the beginning, we received some information about the history of the castle as well as a look in the library, which we also liked very much!! We didn't feel "fobbed off" at all. Perfect for anyone who wants to escape everyday life for a little while. HERE you can really find peace & relaxation. Thank you !!! We would definitely like to come back.

We are very happy that we chose the water castle. Our apartment had everything necessary for a comfortable stay during the week. The large garden and lake provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the landscapes and medieval appearance during a picnic. Two charming small towns and the close proximity to Leipzig create opportunities for sightseeing and walks. Jeff is a wonderful host. He is responsive, friendly, and strives to do everything for the comfort of his guests. Thank you for the interesting excursions and care. We are happy to recommend this castle to anyone who values an extraordinary vacation in ancient and historical places.

10 stars. Lee is the coolest Airbnb host we have ever stayed with. The Burg is still being remodeled after centuries of disrepair, and Lee and Kat are doing an incredible job. We got to see the entire property and hear about their vision for the place. Lee also told us all about the history and gave amazing recommendations for later parts of our trip. He has some incredible things in the Burg and each piece has history. We will be returning in a couple years after the dungeon is turned into a café!

An absolute pearl! The stay at the castle apartment was a rest for body and soul. The apartment, the ambiance, the hosts, the property… everything was characterized by relaxation and a unique charm. Despite its rural location, there was no trace of boredom! The collection of books and board games, the garden and the activities listed by the hosts have rounded out the stay perfectly. The apartment was very cosy, clean and superbly equipped. Whether watching fireflies at night or discovering the ancient vaulted cellar on a small tour, this place exudes a bit of magic! Katja welcomed us very well and in a friendly manner. For the age of the castle, the whole building is in a top condition. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Breakfast is more than worth every penny and I can only recommend it. Katja even lit the fireplace for us so we could have a nice warm breakfast. The bikes were also provided in a lockable room. I'd love to come back to this beautiful place with very good service.

It is a beautiful old building with a beautiful history and huge piece of land and water around it. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and are willing to tell you everything about the history of the estate or help you with a question. Breakfast is tasteful and well worthwhile. The only thing you might be wondering about is the lack of curtains, but this is clearly indicated and doesn't actually fit the room and style. We enjoyed it!

When we booked to stay in Dierfeld, the AirBNB algorithm said it was a "rare find". I have to say that after six days staying there, we all felt the same. The location is stunning - the German version of a country house, situated in acres and acres of its own woodland. There are more communal units in the rest of the house but this apartment feels completely private. You have your own, large, garden area with various tables and seating areas, as well as a fantastic hanging barbecue over a fire pit - which we ate from every night. The apartment itself has high ceilings and large rooms. Be aware, as the description says, that there is one bathroom and toilet. Also that two of the rooms (which we didn't use) open onto a landing which leads to the owners' apartment downstairs. A final mention for the owner. So proactive and friendly - taking me on a quadbike ride to see the swimming lake on his land, and then turning up with air rifle and setting up an adhoc shooting range for the kids!

This beautiful real 15th century castle is spacious and well-appointed and the lovely couple that 'caretake' were very gracious and friendly as well as helpful. The surrounding area is pastoral and peaceful-great for hiking and nature walks. It was a wonderful stay and we would love to return.
