Stunning place to relax and venture out into the surrounding area - peaceful and extremely high spec, kitchen and bathroom were to such a high standard. A perfect get away for just the two of us and a great base to walk and explore. Sally was a super host came round to introduce herselfand plenty of local knowledge and recommendations. Will definately consider a stay here again

We stayed for 5 nights. Deliberately seeked out a place in the country rather than a town as we wanted the nature and privacy. This place did not disappoint. It's a little annex connected to the main house, but you're entry is on one side and main house entry on the other so it feels very private and you won't even notice the connection. It's pieceful and very private. Next to the house is a stream which is lovely. if you open the window you will hear it. The place is lovely and clean. You can tell Julia has decorated it with the intent of her guests feeling comfortable and loving their surrounding. Proper wood and solid furniture. We were welcomed with tea, crisps, wine, bathrobes and slippers. After a long drive getting to the Lake District, this was very nice. The fireplace is great. We specifically wanted a place with a fireplace. There is an additional charge for the wood which isn't mentioned in the description. Overall we loved it and would definitely come back again 😀 😀

Lovely little cottage, had all we needed. Perfect location for access everywhere and quiet village, would stay again in the future!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Gill Cottage, would definiately recommend and hope to return in the future. Excellent location and the photos dont do it justice. Sofa and beds very comfortable and the living area is nice and spacious. It is also kept toasty warm. If I was very VERY picky it would be nice to have had a couple of little touches like a dish rack for washing up and blankets for the sofa and maybe some festive fairy lights etc at this time of year but as I say these are tiny things. Thanks for a lovely stay!
