Cottage vacation rentals in Fredericksburg

Our family of four had a wonderful time at Ana's home in Front Royal. We were looking for a place with above-average amenities, close proximity to Shenandoah National Park, and a bit of privacy — this home delivered all of that and more. From the comfy beds and well-appointed kitchen to the lovely porch we enjoyed throughout the day, the home met all of our needs. We even took a day trip to visit Monticello and the UVA campus, which were both easily accessible from the house. If we return to the area, this is definitely where we’d stay again.

We truly enjoy our 2+ week stay in Linden! The house was perfect for our family - including 3 teenagers! They loved the basement game room giving us the extra space we needed to stretch out. The beds were super comfy. The neighbor hood is convenient to main highways making getting around a breeze. We loved sitting on the front deck drinking coffee and watching the deer. Our dogs Also approve! Thank you Robert for your hospitality!!

Perfect peaceful stay that we were looking for!

This lake house was such a magical place. Being connected to nature, within the woods and by the lake, we enjoyed the serenity and quietness the entire trip. The house offers lots of space and comfort for a large group (we were 10). We took advantage of all the amenities including kayaking, watching a movie, lighting a fire outside, and the hot tub. No issues at all and hosts were super responsive and friendly!

I had a wonderful stay at Chris and Sandy’s farm guesthouse. It was very easy to find and exceeded my expectations. They were the best hosts and I would definitely return. I especially loved feeding the donkey, Jasper. Sandy and Chris went out of their way to make it feel like home for us. Thanks again for the Yoder’s icecream recommendation, we loved seeing the free petting zoo.

This is a lovely farm with several cottages and homes available for stays. The grounds are spectacular with pastures filled with horses, gorgeous ponds, and amazing landscapes. The servants cottage met our needs perfectly. We stayed for only one night while traveling home to NY after snowbirds a couple months further south. I have family nearby and hope to stop here again in the future for a longer time. The cottage was well kept with a BBQ grill that my husband happily made our dinner on! There was also a portable fire pit that we enjoyed while having our after dinner cocktails. Super responsive and helpful! We highly recommend staying at this farm and can't wait to go back.

Had a wonderful stay within walking distance to Lake Anna. The house was amazing and perfectly suited for our guests. The home was clean and inviting from the moment we arrived. We would love to come again and stay for a future trip. Highly recommend.

A beautiful home in a peaceful and relaxing setting. The home was well cared for and very clean. As soon as we arrived we were excited to sit out back around the fire pit and enjoy the evening stars. We enjoyed all of the amenities the home had to offer. Lots of space to walk and enjoy the outdoors. The host was very responsive to all our questions prior to booking and all of their instructions were easy to follow. Thank you for the great experience.

Our family enjoyed our time at Patti’s place. The place is comfortable and easy to navigate. The outdoor seating areas are relaxing and great for star gazing.

Very peaceful and lots of nature and animals to see

This place was perfect for our weekend getaway. The cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable, plus close to so many hikes in Shenandoah national park. The hosts really thought of everything, from coffee to cookware and even having the fire pit filled with brush so we could easily have a fire. The location is nestled in the mountainside and is SO quiet, coffee overlooking the mountains and hills with nothing but the sounds of nature was therapeutic. We are already talking about planning our next trip back!

Perfect stay for a quick little get away. 10 minutes to the metro with 20 or so minute ride to D.C. Place had everything you could practically need. Walkable location to restaurants, shopping right in downtown Alexandria. Also having a garage was a huge plus, as you didn’t have to work about parking downtown.

This was our third time staying here and it is always wonderful. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful. Our dog loves the fenced in yard and dog amenities (water bowl, poop bags). The coffee that Billy provides is so good and much appreciated. Phone coverage can be spotty (the provide wifi works great), so the recommendations and directions provided in the Welcome binder are very useful. Love it here & hoping we will be able to visit again soon.

Vicki was by far one of the best hosts- the house had many thoughtful touches including treats for my friends and I. The location is very convenient if you're going to spend time in Middleburg.

This place is a quiet, peaceful spot to relax. The listing had everything it stated and the spot on the water is beautiful. I booked it because it was close to a wedding I was in nearby, and it was a great place to stay a little longer and get some much needed R&R. The kitchen (and bathroom) was well stocked and had everything we needed to throw together some meals. I had a couple questions and Angela responded immediately. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for sure! That being said, if you’re looking for a lot to do / tons of places to eat, this place probably isn’t what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a quiet (beautiful) place to recharge, this is it!

Quiet and cozy home in the perfect location. We had a wonderful stay with beautiful views of the water (too cold in Feb to fully enjoy), and it was so convenient to be able to walk to local coffee shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

What a perfect place to stay to enjoy Old Rag! Less than 1.5 miles to the trailhead, it was a tranquil, serene retreat that was just perfect. We would definitely stay here again!

Cottage was very comfortable and filled with alot of beautiful and eclectic furniture and art work. The heat system kept the house cozy. Very charming place! Nice landscaping too, which will begin to show itself as Spring decides to stick around. We had our dog and he gives 2 paws up for the big yard. House is not located in the nicest of areas but it was quiet, felt safe and is well situated to great places like Shenandoah Valley and Skyline Drive, Gordonsville, Orange, Sperryville and even Front Royal, Flint Hill and Little Washington are an easy day trip. And Culpeper also a quaint small town with several good restaurants and lots of shops. It was a really nice time.

What a fun long-weekend. We enjoyed the kayaks and we literally spent the whole weekend in the lake. We didn’t even mind that the water was cold, being early spring. The house is really clean and beds are comfortable. The kitchen has the basic necessities and we didn’t have any problem cooking all meals there. We will definitely be back.

The Shade Tree cottage was super comfortable. We felt right at home! We loved the little extras like charging stations, spices in the kitchen, laundry detergent, soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The large kitchen table was great for having friends join us for dinner. We greatly appreciated Matt providing the shower chair we requested. If we are ever in the area again, we will surely stay at the Shade Tree cottage!

This was a beautiful home with lots of room for our group to spread out. We all had our own private space as well as several common areas to hang out together. The house was clean, spacious, and had great views. Thanks for the great stay!
