Monthly Rentals in Edale

Pretty little gem in the peak district! Simple with everything you need, creating a really homely and comfortable atmosphere. Tom was welcoming and communicated well recommending local resturants /pubs. We had a wonderful stay, the bed was super comfy and we felt right at home. The milk and biscuits were a nice touch as we arrived late on a Sunday and forgot to grab anything prior. It wasn't a problem for us , but would note to others in this technology driven world that there isn't any WiFi! We looking forward to coming back in the new year!

Such a rare gem! Beautifully quirky, wonky nook of a cottage with all the amenities and supplies you could need for a home away from home… Comfortable beds, log burner and logs for cold evenings, smart TV, toiletries box for when you realise you’ve forgotten something, linen and towels and a lovely private enclosed garden that our border terrier loved sniffing about in. There is even a garden bar for warmer weather stays! There’s a cafe/ farm shop right at the end of the road and you can bung on your walking boots and set off right from the front door or a short drive and you can be in Buxton, Bakewell, Castleton for example. A 5 min drive gets you to the base of Mam Tor which is a great walk to the top for the views and continue walking up the top of Lose Hill. Or go down the caves to see the Blue John stone. So much to do and the Crooked Nook is perfectly located to get to it all yet is equally in the middle of nowhere! Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful weekend staying at Neil and Naomi’s place. Neil was very helpful getting us settled in and was flexible when we were running late. They also kindly left supplies for us when we arrived in case we hadn’t had a chance to shop on our way. The Nook looked even better than the photos and was spotlessly clean. There is enough space in kitchen, bathroom and living area to make it feel roomy for two, while also providing the warm cosy atmosphere we were looking for. This was particularly helped by the underfloor heating (!) and the electric fire in the living room. Within striking distance of fantastic walking, this is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.
