Vacation rentals with breakfast in Des Moines

Susan is a great host, welcoming you into her large ramshackle historic home. I especially love the front and back gardens. Nice white cat. It’s a social, down home, comfortable place in a great location. Another plus is that it’s and close to numerous good places to eat such as: Ingersoll Avenues’ Star Bar, Ted’s Coney Island, and Eatery A, and just 6 blocks from. Drake Diner and the wonderful Varsity Cinema.

FANTASTIC STAY! Shelli’s house looks like it is out of a literary novel. Beautiful art everywhere. A very comfortable room. A friendly cat. And so many snacks and treats all around the house. Shelli bakes cookies multiple times a week to keep the supply fresh. She is so kind and fun to hang out with. I recommend this Airbnb 10,000% Please stay here if you have the chance. I am so excited to revisit Des Moines and stay here again.

Cherish's home is beautiful! It's a large, older/historic home in a lovely part of town. The bed in my room on the second floor was very comfortable - just what I needed on an overnight pass through town. There was another guest staying in the next room (sharing a wall), but noise was not a issue. The shared bathroom was conveniently on the other side of my room in the same hallway. The shared areas downstairs on the first floor offered spacious room for hanging out and are creatively/artfully decorated. If you love old homes, this is a great one to stay in :). Highly recommend!

Very nice place to stay. The hosts are wholesome people who maintain a great atmosphere.

We arrived during a rain/ice storm, and the bright and cheery decor were upbeat and cheerful. Our dog was very comfortable, and it was helpful having the spacious enclosed backyard. Communications were clear and timely. Highly recommend.

I’ve stayed at Ryan’s place once before, but this time I had my family with me. My wife and kids love this place! Everything was clean and spotless and very comfortable beds. We will never stay at a hotel when you got a wonderful place like this, we will be back.

Great location. Little confusion in regards to parking pass. Was not available since I waited to ask for it. Other units I stayed in at same building pass was included.

Shelli’s place we great! We were just there briefly but immediately felt at home - you can tell the house is well loved! The room was spacious and having the half bath was nice. Also enjoyed the baked goods in the common area and the blueberry wine. Would stay here again passing through town.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend! Place was overall clean and spacious. Kitchen was stocked with all the basic cooking supplies we’d need. Location felt safe and quiet. Only downsides - they were out of some of the listed amenities (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) and the bath mat was wet/dirty when we arrived. Check in/check out process was easy.

Place was nice and peaceful, definitely recommend for anyone looking for a little getaway.

This basement space was perfect for my travels. Mark & Deb were very responsive with my questions. If needing a night in the Ankeny area again, I will look them up first.

The unit was large, well decorated, and clean. Each of the two bedroom has its own private bath. The unit was well appointed and it was very comfortable. We like the ability to be able to park our car in the garage at night. The management company did a great job of communicating and they were also flexible on the checkout. There’s a great breakfast and lunch place within a mile of it called homegrown. The next time that we visit Des Moines, we will stay in this unit if it’s available.

Loved Laurine and her B&B. She was full of local information and great recommendations. Her scones were absolutely YUMMY!

We had a great stay! We were upgraded to the family suite and it was much appreciated! There is so much room, plus a big bathroom with a large shower and soaking tub! Great breakfast made to order! Highly recommend!

We only stayed one night at Big Blue but it was an enjoyable stay. The attic provided more than enough room for our family to sleep and hang out. The house has a unique charm and history, and Laurine is a friendly and accommodating host. We liked interacting with her and the other guests. It felt like a home. The breakfast was great! Scrambled eggs made with real eggs tastes so much better than the powdered eggs we would have been served at a hotel. And the bacon, French toast, homemade grape jelly, and homemade scones made for a wonderful meal. We would be happy to visit Big Blue again.

I loved my stay. Breakfast was amazing every morning. Laurie was so kind, responsive, and gave many good recommendations. Felt very comfortable and at home. I loved making friends during this experience!
