House vacation rentals in Dawson County

My family and I had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for us, I think our favorite room was the White Sunroom off the kitchen. I could be cooking and the grandbabies were on the floor playing. We did have to move the coffee table into the corner as it was glass but is made ample play area on the floor. We drove to Helen, Dahlonega, Amicolola Falls St Park, Ellijay. We did 3 Wineries, Apple orchard and the kids hiked the community every morning. I don't think we could have squeezed anything else in, in one week. It was an an amazing trip, coming back to the house in the evening was as comfortable as coming home. Thank you for having us. Maria Metzger

Beautiful quiet wooded setting. Ample room, love the 2 dining areas and porches. Steep paved driveway, but could navigate during the spring and room to turnaround at top. Towels were lush and mattresses were average. Electronics all worked and the house was well stocked with a welcome bag of snacks as well as toiletries. Imagine it would be lovely in the fall as well!

I came with my family to enjoy thanksgiving in the mountains. This place was beautiful, the house was cozy, and Veronica was SUPER responsive to all questions I had!

We stayed at Jo Anna’s place in Big Canoe and absolutely loved it! The condo was beautiful, cozy, and exceptionally clean—and trust me, I’m very picky when it comes to where we stay. I booked last minute, and Jo Anna was incredibly accommodating, making everything smooth and easy from start to finish. The pictures online don’t do it justice—the place is much bigger and even more comfortable in person. The beds were super cozy, and everything was set up perfectly for a relaxing getaway. One of the highlights was my husband spotting a black bear while driving up the mountain—such an unforgettable moment! We also played golf and grabbed a bite at Duffer’s—my boys devoured the burgers and fries. Everyone we met in Big Canoe was so friendly; we truly didn’t want to leave. Thank you, Jo Anna, for sharing your lovely place with us. We definitely want to come back soon!

The host Kenny was amazing. His cabin accommodated my family of 5 needs in space, location, bedrooms and baths. The scenery in this community and around this cabin was fantastic. Especially seeing deer everywhere. Big Canoe as a community is phenomenal and very family orientated. Lots to do . Can’t wait to plan another vacation here.

This home is was perfectly described. Ron and Kim were very helpful when I had questions and needed help. I love the home and was nice and cozy. I would book again if we needed to.

the entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. home was very clean and very well maintained. from the hot tub to the pool table to the spacious rooms, it was fantastic. the host was very easy to contact and immediately responsive to any question or inquiries, without being overbearing. he is the type of host i strongly recommend. if u are in the dahlonega area with family i am really not sure why you would want to stay anywhere else. close proximity to anything u need in terms of food, stores, restaurants, things to do, etc.. we will be back for sure

The house is a stunning property and Big Canoe is a beautiful piece of mountain real estate. The house is configured in a way to maximize bed rooms, bathrooms and shared living space. It's really a great place to host a larger group, though we were a group of 4, it meant that we each had a private bedroom/bathroom! The kitchen had everything one would need. Worth noting that the driveway is extremely steep and that anything short of an SUV or truck will need a sharp angle to avoid scraping bottom. Anything lowered or sporty need not even attempt the driveway.

Perfect place to stay to access Iron Mtn. Or even town. Right off the main road but not hard to get to with a trailer. Beds were comfy and highly recommend.

We booked this beautiful home for a weekend at iron mountain. This place has lots of parking space for trucks carrying trailers. This place is so beautiful and peaceful. Will be booking again in the feature 😊

Highly recommend staying at Jose’s place. You will be very happy with the comfortable space and the incredibly peaceful and beautiful setting. The house was well-stocked and had everything we needed. Jose’s communication was perfect and easy.

We loved our stay! The house was beautiful and very well maintained. Everything was made to make us feel at home. The beds were comfortable, the bath towels were high quality, there were plenty of beach towels, there were shampoos in every bathroom along with hand soaps. All these little details make a big difference! The house was very clean and decorated nicely. The location on the lake was perfect. We loved the easy access to the lake, the two story dock and the kayaks. We would absolutely stay again! Ashley was super responsive and helpful. Thank you for an amazing stay!

This was our second time staying at this cabin. Beautiful location, plenty of room, and a very relaxing place to stay. We obviously enjoy it or we wouldn’t have chosen to come back again. Our only complaint is the hot tub. It takes 24 hours to warm up to max temp and therefore we only got to use it one evening. We also cook all of our meals and learned last year to bring a few specific kitchen items that we needed. A beautiful cabin overall and clearly a loved and enjoyed home.

Amazing!!! The moment we stepped inside we felt right at home. Collins' home is exactly as described; it's extremely spacious, immaculate and the kitchen/pantry were fantastic! My husband and I took our 2 littles and spent 5 days with my MIL, FIL, 2 BIL's and SIL. There was so much space that nobody felt on top of each other but also felt cozy snuggled in front of the fireplace talking, playing games and enjoying morning coffee or an evening cocktail! We made all our meals at the house and there was everything one would need and more! We used the firepit only once but it's a perk. The screened in porch was used and another great option for hangout space. The only thing to be mindful of is the walk to the pier is steeper than it looks. We made it work but didn't use the dock as much as we would have if it were more flat or less steep. That said, don't let it deter you bc the home is gorgeous, comfortable and clean! Collins was by far the most helpful host I've encountered!

Beautiful home and location! Right on the water- super easy to bring the kayaks out. Chris was very responsive- although we had no issues. She checked to make sure we got in ok and then sent instructions/suggestions for the area. This was by far the best home we have stayed in Big Canoe. It was also the cleanest and most stocked rental we have experienced. We will be back!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Patricia's mountain lodge! We have to say the pictures do not do it justice. The lodge is situated so that you have privacy and a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge mountains. There were 11 adults in our party, and there was plenty of room for us to spread out and not crowd one another. The main living area had plenty of seating options for us to congregate to watch TV and/or play family games. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious. The kitchen was perfect for fixing large meals (the additional kitchen came in extremely handy as well). The outdoor living space had a gorgeous fire pit that was used on many of the chilly nights. There is a hot tub that was clean and ready for use. Darts and corn hole were also available. Just so much to do and so much to see! We highly recommend this location for anyone's family or friend gathering.

Our family of 10 gathered together here at this beautiful lake house for the Thanksgiving week. It's a tradition for us to rent a house on a different lake each Thanksgiving. The Laketime house was in a beautiful location and had lots of amenities our family loved, mostly the 4 person pedal boat and kayake, lots of fun for everyone. We were very thankful for grocery stores, restaurants, outlet mall, etc...to be within 12-15 mins away. We cooked lots of meals in the well equipped kitchen and had lots of room for everyone. Thanks to Jason for being a great host and answering all our questions prior to arriving. Now to find the next lake and next lake house for Thanksgiving 2025!!
