Great stay, fabulous place, great communication with Norman. Good location and would recommend to anyone.

What an absolutely gorgeous place this was! We stayed for a full week and the peace was so profound (and the bed so comfy), I don’t think I’ve slept so soundly in possibly years. The space is simple and perfectly designed and we felt at home straight away. This was definitely helped by Fliss and Tim’s warm welcome (and occasional visits by lovely Archie the dog). We were a bit chilly coming back one evening (having got caught out in a cold Autumn downpour) and Fliss greeted my messaged request for a hot water bottle with not only that, already filled and ready to go, but a stack of extra blankets for us to get snuggly with. A total star. We were also welcomed into the beautiful garden spaces around the barn - well designed and lots of room to relax in. Plus the location itself was spot on for exploring many places in Northumbria. All in all a total joy and we can’t wait to visit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at East Lodge in Chillingham. The lodge was beautifully presented and very cozy. The location was also fantastic, right by Chillingham castle and with lots of walks and things to within walking distance. The host provided everything we needed and more in the way of information about the lodge and suggestions for things to do in the area.

From the very start our stay was great. We got there just before our early check in and met our host Jacqui, what a lovely welcome and a great start to our break. Once we were in we went to the bottom of the garden to check out the amazing vista, there were 3 Roe Deer in the meadow, we saw them every day. Beblowe cottage itself is amazing, behind the small façade is an amazing country cottage, just how we had imagined. The wood burner was lit every night and with the big curtains closed it was so cosy. Big enclosed garden, Patch loved it, I did too, sitting with my binoculars. We went for peace and quiet and got it, you can easily avoid the busiest times. We explored the island thoroughly and saw some excellent wildlife, the best of which all happened on our last night at dusk, we went to watch the sunset over St. Cuthbert's Island and just as the sun was setting, the seals started heading out to sea, after that, when we were heading home there was a murmuration of starlings. Magical.
