Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Brixham

I stayed at Tom's place for a weekend with my husband, our kids, my sister and her kids. It was spacious, had plenty of space for the kids to play, is nicely decorated and in a peaceful location. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Parking was easy. It's a short easy walk down to the beach and centre of Hope Cove. Tom had left us some nibbles and drinks which was a lovely touch. Would happily stay there again.

Really amazing and unique place to stay in this 70’s hideaway on the edge of Dartmouth. Once you catch you breath after the 100 steps to the front door, you will be rewarded with a really quirky and stylish house hidden in the trees, but with tantalising views of the River Dart. It was so quiet at night and it’s only a 20 minute walk into the town that you really have the best of both worlds. Perfect for a couple or young family. The garage at the bottom was fine for our little polo but you might struggle to get anything bigger in it but there was space on the street if needed. We loved the place and will be back!

Ade and Margaret were very welcoming hosts. The house provided a really comfortable space for a family get together and the location, just a few minutes walk from Torre Abbey is perfect for exploring Torquay.

Pamela has a nice spacious house with all of the amenities that you might want. She is quick to respond and very helpful. The house is up an off road path which is fairly steep, it is a lovely property however some of my party struggled a bit with the hill due to having breathing or mobility issues. For the average person it is no problem at all. I highly recommend the property and Pamela as a host. Thank you Pamela.

We all had a fantastic holiday, it was our first time as a blended family and we all had lots of space to both interact together quiet/private time too. The facilities were fantastic for both adults and kids. Overall a great place for a family / large group and a great base for the surrounding area / south coast

What a great house to stay in, the pictures don’t actually do it justice. It has everything that you could expect and more, plenty of space and stuff to keep children occupied

Robin was very helpful and really accommodating with early check-in on the day, and recommending places to go for the whole family. The bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen are a great size and has everything you need for a home away from home. The garden is a great size and enjoyed sitting on the decking having lunch. Lovely home, very safe and secluded, but walking distance to local restaurants. We went as 4 couples and everything you needed was there, including a very thoughtful gift on arrival. Good rooms and very clear the hosts are not amateurs when it comes to doing this. Lots of nice touches and a quirky inside bar, that suited us. Hamiltons/The Waddling Duck is a nice restaurant, just 200 yards from house.

We stayed in apartment 38 for a week in July 2021. It exceeded my expectations and the pictures do not do it justice (the pictures make it look a bit dated but it really isn’t). It is a lovely 3 bed apartment - very clean throughout. The bedrooms and bathroom are on the first floor and the stairs lead up to the living area and kitchen! The kitchen comes with a fridge, dishwasher, cooker and oven. You also get all your basic cooking utensils and dishes alongside cleaning products including dishwasher tablets. One thing I would suggest is taking some tupperware to store your food in or if you want to make a picnic. The description also stated they provided cooking oil - but there wasn’t any - so it’s worth taking some if you want to make a full english in the morning. We ordered a Tesco online shop which was delivered straight to the apartment without any problems. Note, the pools (indoor and outdoor) are not heated so can be quite cold. The indoor pool area is a bit tired looking with the paint peeling off the floor - but the kids still had a fab time. The gym is also well equipped with weight and cardio machines…but again some of the padding on the machines are a bit worn. Overall we had a fab time, the views are amazing. Meadfoot beach is literally on the doorstep and the town is only a 15min walk away. Paignton beach (10min drive) is great for the kids if you want a bit more hustle and bustle i.e. Pier with arcades and fairground. Also recommend The Inn on the Green for lovely pub grub - they are directly opposite the Paignton pier and the staff were fab too.

Kingswear is a fine place to stay. Accommodation felt very cosy and warm. Spotlessly clean with good facilities. Stunning views, the local pubs were good, the locals friendly, fun to hop on and off the ferry across to Dartmouth. Mark arranged the parking in advance for our stay. We would stay again. Well located for centre of town and also the hospitals. A really lovely comfortable well equipped and stylish apartment. Anna Lisa was very responsive to any queries responding straight away which was great .

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Airbnb! The place looks exactly like it does in the photos—clean, well-decorated, and very comfortable. Adam was incredibly helpful, and the instructions for check-in were clear and easy to follow. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and couldn't find a single thing to complain about. Excellent accommodation, exactly as described and finished to a high specification. There is a garage to park in at the property but access is tight 6feet width! You would certainly struggle with a large car, we had a VW Golf and it was still quite tight. There is some free on street parking but this is rarely available. The property is a perfect location with a few minutes walk to the town, market and the sea front. Therefore there are several good restaurants, cafes, etc within easy reach. There are 26 steps from the street up to the door of the property and they are quite irregular. There are also steps between some rooms inside the property (2 flights of 3 steps and one single step down into the bedroom. Needs considerationvfor anyone with mobility problems. So overall, if you don’t mind the steps and a tight squeeze for your car (or no means of driving up to the property if you have a large car) then this is an excellent property to stay in. Highly recommended.

Great location; there is a Lidl close by for shopping. We had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable, clean, and had a good collection of books. Loved the hot tub.

Karen flat was very clean, well equipped and it was in a very good location for our hike in Dartmoor, very recommended

I think this is possibly the best AirBnB that I've stayed in. Well equipped, beautifully and tastefully furnished with quality products. Excellent and thoughtful host. Would highly recommend it.

We love this place! This was our third stay and we always try to get the place for trips to Exmouth. Clean, comfortable, some noise from upstairs but nothing excessive, perfect situation for walking to pretty much anywhere in Exmouth. Dan, Claire and Jane are always helpful and friendly. Jane makes the best scones so that's always a treat. We have already booked for next year!

I had an amazing stay at Jane’s villa! From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly welcoming and gave us great guidance throughout our stay. The villa was absolutely stunning, spotless, and beautifully decorated, with a five-star level of cleanliness. Everything was perfectly organized, and we were able to relax and enjoy our time there. The view in the morning was breathtaking, and we truly had wonderful moments there. I highly recommend renting this place if you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful spot with amazing views. Really lovely apartment in a great location, a very short walk to the seafront/harbour and town. Lots of extras like a welcome pack, toiletries, books, DVDs and parking permit (needed and very appreciated, we were able to park close by all weekend). Clean and tidy throughout. Host gives plenty of information and also contacted us to check in early once the apartment was ready, couldn't ask for more. Highly recommended.

We had a short but sweet visit. The apartment was very well located with just a short walk and you’re in the town. The apartment was very clean and had all the basics we needed in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable, we had a great couple of nights sleep. It took us a minute to figure out how to use the fancy oven but after reading through the manual it was easy to use. If we had to pick one tiny fault it would be that the gate to get into the courtyard was very loud when it opened and closed, we had some noisy neighbours who went in and out quite late at night but that is no reflection of the apartment itself. We hope that we can return to this apartment next time we visit Torquay as it suited it perfectly.

Wow, what a fantastic flat. Really beautifully kept. Great comfy sheets and bed. Loads of bedside lights for different lighting effects. Kitchen wonderfully designed, as is the whole flat. All the above plus a dedicated parking place where parking can be a problem. Ta loads
