Family-friendly vacation rentals in Bloomington

We’d had a last-minute cancellation at another Airbnb in Kentucky due to flooding in that area. We immediately looked for a new place that we could escape to for some nature & unplugged time, and stumbled upon Garrett & Ewan’s listing—luckily a short drive for us. It is a gem of a find! Cozy home in a private setting with trails and on the water—hot tub was a bonus! We loved sitting around the fire pit, too. The loft was perfect for our teenagers. The rockers on the porch were our go-to in the morning for coffee. We commented several times on how it would be even better to stay in the summer—lots to do outdoors for all. The beds were a bit firm but that is just a personal preference. The house was clean & comfortable—definitely made for a great escape from the busyness of life. Garrett & Ewa were incredibly responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. We were grateful they accepted a last minute booking! It was just the type of R&R our family needed.☺️

We were a group of 4 old friends and our younger kids. Everything about this place was perfect for our get away. There are essentially two sides of the house with 2 kitchens. So when some of the kids wanted to be wild, the others could retreat to the other side of the house for more peace and quiet. The hot tub was amazing for everyone. The swing is all it's cracked up to be - a must try. We LOVED the beds - I am very particular with beds and these were wonderful. They are not too firm, but firm enough with what felt like a bamboo foam topper - perfect. Kitchens were perfectly stocked with all the supplies we needed. This really is the best place to go if you want to unwind and relax with friends and family. Remote enough to feel like an escape, but not too far removed that it's hard to find. The only thing we regret is not staying longer! We will definitely be back. Thank you Ken!!

The cabin is so beautiful and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. It was VERY clean, well stocked and oh so very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you’d need to cook. The claw footed tub was great for a good deep soak. The game room has everything you’d possibly want to play. We enjoyed drinks by the fireplace. You’re only 7 minutes away from the cool Brown County shops. 10 minutes away from the grocery store, gas stations and drug stores. I cannot recommend Trish’s cabin enough. We felt completely safe, comfortable and were given a real opportunity to connect with one another without the children. If you see this cabin available, book it! You will not be disappointed. Read and sign the guestbook on your way out!!

The house was perfect for our large group, lots of sleeping accommodations and host was very responsible to a few minor issues.

Tom and Robert were the best hosts—so friendly, polite, and welcoming! They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, from allowing a flexible check-in and check-out to ensuring we had everything we needed. The property itself was stunning, with a beautiful setup that made for a perfect getaway. The hot tub was an absolute highlight—so relaxing and exactly what we needed. We were especially grateful that we were able to have fun without any issues, and they were so accommodating throughout our stay. To top it all off, their dog is absolutely adorable! We can’t recommend this place enough and would love to return. Thank you, Tom and Robert, for an unforgettable experience!

Our group enjoyed our stay and it was in the perfect location for the large group we were traveling with. We had a few minor issues, but the host always made himself available and corrected those issues quickly.

This was our second time staying at the cabin and I’m sure we’ll go back again. The cabin is comfortable and had every thing we needed. We relaxed, toured the sanctuary, and spent an afternoon in Bloomington. A great trip!

The place was secluded and exactly as described. About a 10-minute drive to campus. If we return to the area, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Our stay here was wonderful! This is a hidden gem in Bloomington, a cute little quiet neighborhood-feel.

The property was absolutely beautiful! Came for a wedding that was close by and enjoyed a wonderful night around one of the two fire pits. Wish we had more time in the morning to explore more of the property. Our dog really enjoyed the expansive forest. Alexandra was amazing and super communicative with anything we could have needed. Can’t wait to come back!

It was a delight to meet Marina and Patrick and stay in this lovely little space. The most important thing g is they are lovely people- kind and thoughtful. As others have written, Marina’s breakfast was such a treat every morning. They have a vast and varied LP collection, too. If I’m back in town for this conference, I know where I’ll stay!! 😊

The unit was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable, and both of the bathrooms were clean. The host, Kathy, was very helpful. She was always available to answer questions and respond to our requests. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Bloomington.

I have stayed with Kent at this property for the same weekend four years in a row, to host some visiting friends during Bloomington's spring break period. Kent has been an exceptional host each year along the way, communicating quickly what I can expect — and immediately notifying me if my party forgot anything (which we did). Kent is a total professional and I'd be glad to reserve this property for many spring breaks to come, if it's convenient for him and his other guests. Stay here. You won't be disappointed. You may even be thrilled.

We had a fantastic stay here! Place was awesome, location was perfect, couldn’t have asked for more. We left a golf bag behind and Lisa was incredibly proactive about getting it back to us. She went above and beyond to take care of us. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Gorgeous lake house! Great place to get away and unwind!!

Cosy little apartment walking distance to campus / School of Music and everything was super clean. It has a well-equipped kitchen. Corinna was a lovely host and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The upstairs floorboards over the smaller bedroom squeak so you may want to bring earplugs if you are sleeping in it.

What a beautiful sanctuary! We had an amazing stay here and would love to return. Leslie went above and beyond with the details and amenities, the house was beautiful, and it had fantastic vibes! An artists paradise :):)

This location was amazing. We loved being downtown. Had lunch at Hard Truth 5 minutes away, walked to some shops, across the street to get sodas and teas at Big Woods. Host responsive, they provided coffee in the morning which we appreciated. Beds were comfortable, and no issues while we stayed. Parking was easy. No need to do a list of things to check out. Highly recommend and will likely stay here again.
