Open Hearth Inn Suite 3 - 10 min to Acadia!

Suite 3 is a SECOND FLOOR room in the main building. It has a king bed, quaint PRIVATE bathroom with a standing shower, tv, A/C, hair dryer, microwave, coffee pot, mini-fridge, and a cozy private sitting area. All upstairs suites do have a sloped ceiling in at least one part of their rooms. Suite 3 has a sloped ceiling in its small setting area and just above the top of the bed. Full access to the shared indoor kitchen, the outdoor kitchen and grill, the common-use hot tub, and the bonfire pit.

This listing was a peaceful place for me and my bestie to work remotely. Great WiFi and even better views. The food and drinks were AMAZING. Alex introduced herself to me while I was grabbing a beer and gave us recommendations for hikes and restaurants. We will be visiting again. Can’t recommend this place enough.

This was my first time staying in a bed-and-breakfast, and it now has me convinced that I will stay at a bed-and-breakfast again. Our room was very cozy, and we love antiques, and our room was also filled with nice antiques, as well as the entryway upon walking into the bed-and-breakfast. we had to check in early due to a wedding and was flexible with letting us come early so that we could get ready for the wedding.

We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend. We have two young children and this was the perfect couples getaway. The Airbnb was so quiet and cozy. We slept so peacefully after long hiking days. Sue is an amazing cook and breakfast was delicious! Early hikes and travel plans didn’t allow us to always eat in person, but Sue and Eric thoughtfully prepared delicious baked goods and fruit for us. They were quick with communication and extremely organized. Everything was very clean too. I would stay here again and hope to in the future when we are back to visit Acadia.

Adam was such an amazing host! He was extremely responsive, and always went out of his way to stay in touch and make sure we were always taken care of and had what we needed. His place was very clean and perfect for a weekend stay! The location was so convenient, less than 5 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor which was incredible! The complimentary breakfast and snacks were a really generous and convenient touch. I cannot recommend this place enough and we cannot wait to stay again!

We loved our stay at the Black Friar! We stayed in Room 6, loved the decor, the bathroom skylight and all the books. Staff and owners were friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included was generous and amazing. Set us up wonderfully for a day of hiking or exploring the town. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The location is great for exploring Bar Harbor on foot and with included parking we left the car behind on one of our days. Easy access to Acadia.

Well laid out unit for our gang (me, my wife and 100 pound well behaved dog). There is a tremendous convenience store as part of the Otter Creek Inn complex. All items were reasonably priced and they even offered a fantastic lobster or clam chowder dinner (or hot dogs too, I tried the red "Maine" hot dog as well as the clam chowder and both were delicious). Location very convenient to Acadia NP (two entry points nearby), Seal Harbor and its coveted sand beach, as well as being close to Bar Harbor. BONUS: for dog owners there is a very dog friendly park nearby too...it was part of the old Rockefeller estate. Finally, Dawn, our host, is superb. She bent over backwards to help us out on an issue that had nothing to do with the unit or her...she is simply a high quality person. The bed could have used more support, but other than that, zero issues with this unit. Highly recommended!
