We made a late booking for a weekend away and stayed 2 nights. The property is in a very good location just opposite the pub in a lovely small village. Good walks are available from the door and we enjoyed the pub in Byland as well as the one across the road which offers a nice menu of food as well as a good atmosphere. The cottage is very tasteful, spacious and well equipped. The bed was comfy so we slept well. The lounge is large with nice furniture and the kitchen is very pleasant with a pine dining table etc. Jackie looked after us very well and provided milk, cake and biscuits for us which we appreciated. Overall, an excellent stay.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful break in The Stables. Deborah's care and attention to detail are very apparent (and greatly appreciated) at this cosy and welcoming cottage. On our arrival, after a long jouney, we were so pleased to walk into the warmth and were greeted with the sight of a delightful and delicious welcome hamper. Deborah's instructions on how to find the cottage and how to get in were excellent. We must also mention how responsive Deborah was to any contact. We were very grateful for the (pre-arrival)plentiful information about local pubs and restaurants . The kitchen is well-equipped and the shower room is spacious. We slept well in the comfortable bed and were grateful for the variety of pillows! Deborah was very respectful of our privacy but it was great to know that she was on hand should we need anything. The Stables is in a wonderfully peaceful area but only a 30 minute drive to York. Rawcliff Bar P&R was brilliant. Congratulations Deborah and many thanks.

This place is very nice, warm and cozy. Everything was spotless. We stayed 1 day, so there is a £40 fee for 1 day stay. We didn’t see it during booking. So caught us off guard.

We had an amazing stay at Pauline and Graham’s! Pauline welcomed us and showed us around and then gave us our space. The house is cosy and yet spacious. Everything was clean and tidy. The bed was incredibly comfortable! Pauline and Graham had provided bread, eggs, cereals, milk & butter on arrival of our stay. There is a thermostat to control the heating so we were never too cold or too warm. It was great waking up and seeing all the birds outside the window - they have lots of bird houses and feeders. Great stay! We would definitely stay again!
