Monthly Rentals in Windeyer

We were two families which included 4 kids, all under 10 years of age came for the long weekend, driving down from Sydney. I was initially doubtful if the hideout on the hill would be ideal for families with small kids. But it all changed when we drew up the hil...! What a stunning place! A rustic feel but amazingly cozy! Remote but close to everything! Alone but surrounded by a lot of animal life. We could listen to the cows and sheep from the next hill. Sitting outside every night was bliss, gazing at the stars…. spotting Venus, Mars, and Jupiter… The house itself was lovely, the fairy lights in each room made it feel special. The small bridge with a clear stream flowing beneath all adds up to the beauty. Driving past the orchard, the steep ascent on a rocky gravel path was fun. The kids loved the adventure, walking down to the bridge and sprawling the grasslands that surround them. I am sure, we will be back again in winter. Thanks, Janene for being such a wonderful host.

Jo’s place was immaculately clean that a couple of our group (who are undiagnosed OCD 😜) felt quite comfortable in this spacious and uncluttered house that looked very new. The good quality bedroom linen provided a good night’s sleep (1 pillow per person supplied). The traffic noise didn’t bother us at night - just don’t try to sleep during the day with the windows open. 3 of the 4 bedrooms are along the front of the house. Closing the window is not a problem as there’s ducted airconditioning. The house had a generous supply of consumables (of good quality) like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soaps, dishwashing detergent and tablets, toilet paper, paper towel, coffee, tea and sugar. They even supplied foil, cling wrap and baking paper. She was extremely accommodating and allowed some friends of ours to come over for some wine and cheese. Her communication was prompt, proactive & very respectful. We hope to return to this wonderful accommodation when we re-visit Mudgee!

We all really enjoyed our stay at the Red Rattler over the weekend and really glad we stayed there instead of Mudgee whilst visiting the wineries. Vicki was accommodating with an earlier check in so we could head out earlier on the bus with Mad Mick the driver. Great to have the pub a very short walk up the road for some lunch and return in the evening with the firepit and stars, such a nice little spot!

Just as amazing as I remembered it from my last stay. Chontelle and Tim were welcoming and their dogs were very patient with my enthusiastic puppy. I felt very welcome and when I had to cut my trip short due to personal reasons Chontelle was amazingly responsive and supportive.
