Cottage vacation rentals in Westmoreland County

This was the perfect getaway! The house was so clean and felt like home. The hot tub was perfect for the cold nights after fossil hunting. You can see the beach and water from the back screened deck in the winter and the sunsets are beautiful. Lots of beaches near by to find shark teeth as well. Also there are lots of board games to play. Would definitely book again!

Beautiful location! Such a great spot for relaxation. Melissa & Dave were very clear with their instructions, and very sweet couple! Great communication and accommodating. Hopefully we go back soon!

Dave and Melissa were fantastic hosts as they were very responsive and flexible in accommodating our needs. The place is decorated beautifully and was perfect for a weekend getaway! There are perfect views of the water from virtually the whole home including the bedroom, living room, screened porch, and hot tub! Worth noting that the closest grocery store is about 30 min away, so I recommend stocking up before you arrive.

We visited the area to go fossil hunting and landed on Kyli's house due to the proximity to the local beaches, Solomons Island, access to a private beach, and the listed amenities. Kylis place was within 20 min in either direction of the local attractions. We LOVED the super soft beds, hot tub, and that we could bring our furry friends. We even found some very cool Ecphora fossils in the private beach the day we checked out. Would happily return in the future, Kyli was responsive and helpful!

Tim was very helpful and the instructions were very clear, the house had an amazing view and plenty of room for my family. Even though it needed a little more cleaning, the house was perfect and we love the coffee and water that was gifted to us. The firepit, hot tub, and the Tesla Charger was the cherry on top (we saved time from using a super charger). Thank you for hosting us, we will definitely come back for the summer.

We had an amazing time at the Lazy Oyster! It was clean and well put together! The views of the water and sunset were spectacular, and visible through almost every window! The couch was super cozy and comfortable, making a really nice spot to sit and read or watch tv. The hot tub was an added bonus, even if the walk through the porch was a little chilly! Overall, we had a lovely time, would definitely return in the future!

This home is absolutely beautiful, from the inside to out. Home is very spacious you can have 2 different family's one in the main the other in the carriage house. They have kayaks, paddle boards and fishing poles to use. We had great fire one night and sat peaceful on the docks watching the fish jump in the morning. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Kokomo Cottage and while our visit was short lived, we will definitely return. Our hosts, Misunn and David, provided useful information regarding the Colonial Beach community and check-in and out instructions were clear and without hassle. The cottage was very clean, well stocked and quite comfortable. It's location was perfect nestled between the river and Monroe Bay. We would highly recommend Kokomo Cottage for both long or short term stays.

Quiet and cozy home in the perfect location. We had a wonderful stay with beautiful views of the water (too cold in Feb to fully enjoy), and it was so convenient to be able to walk to local coffee shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

Jessica's place was awesome. We felt right at home. walk outside and being 10 feet from the water was amazing and super relaxing. the other side had a dock and more water. the area was super quiet and peaceful. they had everything you could need. the house was decorated nicely with a beachy theme. the kitchen was fully stocked. they had plenty of towels, linens and more. the owner Lee came by a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. if you looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing vacation this is the spot! we will be going back often! we swam in the river, fished, relaxed. I wish we were there forever! I've stayed in a lot of airbnbs, this was one of the best experiences we have had. thank you for an absolutely awesome time!

Had a wonderful time staying here. The beds were comfortable, it had everything we needed, and we loved having the fire pit! Oh, and the view was spectacular, such a relaxing way to spend a long weekend. We could definitely come back here!

This was our second stay at Thomas’ house. Both times have been perfect. The location couldn’t be more beautiful. The house is welcoming and so peaceful. We’re definitely planning to book this place on our next visit to the area.

Denise was a great host. We enjoyed our stay with our pups and loved the house! It’s awesome to find a host that doesn’t try and dictate your every activity or have a list of rules and chores to adhere to. Denise truly lets you stay at her home as if it is yours and you are an honored guest!

We were 4 adults and 1 child (9y). We absolutely loved our stay at Jackie’s place. She was proactive in her communication and very flexible. She was able to offer as an extra night for free. We understand that this will not always be possible but it isn’t the norm nowadays anymore and it shows she goes above and beyond for her customers. The house was close to the beach, clean and everything was just as described online. We loved the quiet area, perfect for families with children or people who don’t like overcrowded beaches. Our boy loved catching jelly fish, collecting rocks and shells and of course being in the water. Our favorite restaurant was high tides (yummy cocktails and the best fish and chips basket). We also ventured out to see James Monroe’s and George Washington’s birthplace which were only a 20 minutes drive away and really worth a visit. Jackie, thank you for everything!

The cottage is cute, a bit smaller than I expected but cozy. We did have some WiFi issues, but Annemarie and Eric responded quickly to messages and made things right for us. The area is quaint and peaceful.

The location is great. You could walk to the beach if you wanted to. The house is beautiful it’s way bigger in person. It’s very clean and has lots of space. 10 out of 10 recommend!!!

The house was cozy, accommodating and clean. The beds were very comfortable and linens were clean. It was quiet and the beach was just a short walk/golf cart ride away. If I had to make any slightly negative comment, it would be to provide more wash cloths and towels. But that was a very small detail and we just washed and reused what we had, no big deal. The owner was responsive to all our questions and accommodated a last-minute booking for us. We would definitely book this property with this owner again!

We had a very relaxing weekend at the cottage. This was one of the best rentals i booked through Airbnb. The place is better than what you see in the photos - very clean, quiet, peaceful and serene. Our check-in, stay and check-out were super easy because of the detailed instructions shared by Linda. I recommend this place one hundred percent!

My husband and I visited for a little anniversary getaway. We brought our old pup and she loved laying on the deck, looking out at the water. We got lucky to have a beautiful weather weekend with temps in the 50s. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and opening up the living room doors for a nice indoor/outdoor feel. The home is located in the woods on a quiet street so I took some nice morning strolls with our pup. We went into town for coffee and takeout dinner and enjoyed Carolina Beach which is dog friendly in the winter and a short 25 min. drive. The downstairs bedroom stayed warm even with the barn style doors open, dropping the ac temp, and running the ceiling fan. The mattress was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped for the meals we cooked in. We would definitely return again!

A beautiful place to work and relax. Very clean and a kitchen that had all the supplies and more needed to prepare holiday meals.
