Vacation rentals with lake access in Westchester County

We flew out from the west coast and spent an extended Thanksgiving weekend at this home with our two college aged children who are in school in NY. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out, and Kelley made sure that we had everything we needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. She gave me great recommendations on local shops and and overall was a great communicator. The kitchen is very well stocked, as is the entire home. I find it hard to believe that the home is dog friendly; it was spotless and I detected not one single dog hair! The nearby Garrison train station made a day trip into NYC easy, and we also enjoyed some local hikes and a tour of West Point. I imagine that Spring, Summer and Fall would be a beautiful time to appreciate being surrounded by trees -- but even in Winter the home feels very cosy and close to nature.

this house is a dream! there are breathtaking views of the lake from almost every room. the beds were comfortable and the couch is heaven. the open kitchen, dining and living space are so nice and spacious. we used this house as cousin central for my grandmother’s memorial weekend and it was a perfect place for 10+ people to be able to sleep and hang out together. the private dock on the lake, boats/paddle board provided by the host and the outside seating areas were a huge bonus. we enjoyed several meals at the outside table and we really loved taking trips out on the water in the kayaks and canoe together. would definitely recommend this place, it’s worth every penny. the only thing I would note is that it’s not as secluded as it looks in the photos, there are a lot of neighbors very close by, but you can’t hear much inside the house and it’s enough space inside and outside to still feel private enough.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is exactly as described, with fabulous views and a great location. Gloria was a very responsive host, which was most appreciated when we had a slight mishap on arrival. We were in the area to visit friends and would gladly stay again when next over from the UK.

It’s almost hard to believe Lake Waccabuc is only 1 hr north of NYC! My family had a wonderful stay! It was not easy leaving. Thank you Patrick! Once you arrive here, you will NOT want to leave! A true gem. You will feel like you’re in Maine! The house is set in the woods surrounded by hemlocks and pine trees, with a perfect view of the lake! We saw bald eagles, swans, and blue herons. Loved the morning light and fog-listening to the songs of the birds and watching the sunset on the lake. Our family loved fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking! The house is set on 4 acres- a fun and safe area to cycle, and take long walks. Close to Ridgefield, CT, Katonah and Bedford -only 15 min away! Patrick always responded to my questions within minutes and Jay, the house manager went above and beyond making sure our stay was perfect!!!! My boys already have asked if we can come back and rent again! 🙏

Brittany's place was perfect for what we were looking for... clean, comfortable, and and convenient. The beds are comfortable also. Staying in a house built before the start of the American Revolution was a bonus and we enjoyed pondering on what tales the walls would tell if they could... thanks for the stay!

The home and location are wonderful…the house had everything one could want…including a super hairdryer and fluffy new towels…and a great shower too. Also very bright with lots of incoming sunshine & light. Joann was totally responsive and she aimed to make sure I was comfortable & happy. Great summer month in South Salem…the surrounding towns are great too. I enjoyed all the boutique shopping, restaurants & thrift shops too. A wonderful month long stay at this home. So sorry to have it end. ❤️😍

Well....this was our 4th stay here, I think - that should speak volumes on a really terrific Airbnb to chose. This, when available on the dates, is our primary 'go-to' when we are in the area, as we know what the house is all about and the great comms we have constantly with Victoria! Great place for our family to stay during the Thanksgiving holiday. Peaceful and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more! Bathroom was spa-like, beds were comfortable and warm. Big TV and comfy couch was great for a family movie night. Kitchen was very well equipped. Will definitely come again!

This was my second stay with my dogs - the place is beautiful and so peaceful. This place is a gem. It has everything you need. It has a beautiful large yard for walking dogs and relaxing. Very clean. It’s a quick drive to Bedford. Fred is a great host. I highly recommend this spot!

My family and I have stayed here multiple times because we just love this house, very comfortable, clean and quiet. What I love most about this home is the view with surrounding windows that overlooks the trees and gorgeous sunsets. Highly recommend this place.

What a perfect stay! This AirBnb is a true gem, one of the best I have ever stayed at. Emily accommodated our late-night arrival and was kind enough to set up the pullout coach as a bed for when we arrived. The kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked. The fireplace was AMAZING and we loved hearing the chickens in the morning. The town of Bedford is within walking distance and very cute. The only thing I would mention about the area is that it is difficult to rely on only Ubers for transportation - so we will rent a car next time. Overall we had a truly wonderful stay.
