Great location, perfect walk to the beach, almost like oceanfront. Great hang out space and kitchen. Lots of extra blankets, fan for the white noise people. Great outdoor shower and basketball hoop. Walk to the beach was quick and not too challenging. Clean pool and hot tub!!! Would definitely come back!!!

The location was perfect for our trip. We travel with our dog. We needed a pet friendly place and this was perfect. Everything we needed was there to be able to cook and rest from being out shopping and fishing. The property appears to be 30 to 40 years old and a good bit of repairs and or updates are underway. Typical for a costal property. Appliances in kitchen are updated. View of water is un obstructed. The dock/pier is solid and comfortable to walk on and fish from. We enjoyed having the grassy yard for our dog to enjoy. Very quiet places during our Thanksgiving stay. We would book again if it is available and look forward to it.

We stayed here with two young kids on thanksgiving week and it was blissful - the house was perfectly set up for (young) kids (think games, a high chair,,..). We could see the sea from the terrace and there was everything needed to cook ourselves a nice meal. Would love to go back.

Loved so much about the place. The fenced yard was a highlight for our dog, and the hot tub was a highlight for my husband and I. The layout of the place was so comfortable- open and efficient, with lovely views, and the kitchen was roomy enough and adequate for the limited food prep we did. Rodanthe itself is very chill, and this place happens to be like a 1/4 mi. away from a sweet dive bar with a great view of Pamlico Sound. I would highly recommend this tiny home!!

Rocking Hat Retreat was awesome, quiet, comfortable, private off the beaten path a bit, very clean. I liked the gated drive, felt a little secure being there. Parking under the building was nice. It was a really nice pplace to kick back and relax after a day of driving and a day in the beach, wish we could have stayed longer! Jayme was onsite when we arrived and very helpful in restraint selection (Mad Crabber) very informative on local amenities as well. We will return ! Thank you Jayme!

Great place to stay! Everything was as described and it was very quiet during the off season. Short walk to the beach and close to the lighthouse and 4x4 section of Carolla. One thing to note if you're considering going in the off season, many places are closed and Google isn't always reliable. Just takes some additional planning and maybe making meals at the house but the kitchen is fully stocked, just have to go grocery shopping which is about 5 mins away!
