Your collaborator came to pick us up at the port to take us to the apartment as soon as we arrived. Very central location with all the basic amenities and the port just a few steps away. Host's availability to take us to the property as soon as you disembark on the island and store your luggage to enjoy the last day. Fair value but probably due to high season.

Ustica is the place for people who like to dive, snorkel or hike. The negative thing is the presence of too many cars and motor vehicles that constantly rush around the village without peace for people. Private buses go at high speeds and are sometimes really dangerous. Even for the scooter, there is no rule. We have tried practically all the restaurants on the island and apart from a few variations, they all offer the same dishes with a tourist background and the cost is quite aligned and starts from 40€ person up for a dinner based on appetizer/first or appetizer/second; if you add dessert and coffee the figure rises. I've missed a lot of familiarity and the typical island family treatment replaced by the somewhat disconnected relationship intended for tourists.

we booked short-notice and just picked the cheapest host on ustica. the online check-in and the instructions were probably not intended for airbnb customers and a bit confusing, we were supposed to be picked up, but we found the place (~10min by foot from the harbour) and called the number provided in the extensive welcome message. Vincenzo was easy going and happy to speak italian with us. since it was low season we could pick from any of the free appartments available which was nice. the appartment has everything that's needed and even a nice (shared) backyard with a view. the apartment is a good choice for staying a few days on the beautiful island and do a dive or two. we will come again :)
