Mount Carpe Diem was an experience that cannot be easily described. For our family it was a combination of wonderfully artistic buildings and structures in a deep setting of an exquisitely beautiful rain forest, populated by many many unique objects of art. That, along with a host family that was amazingly accommodating to our needs. Our family of 4 are all vegetarian and one of us is gluten sensitive, and the chef and son of the hosts created fantastic dishes, much of it sourced from trees and gardens on the property. I know the word magical is overused, but it is an appropriate term for this extraordinary combination of wonders and for the time we spent there I am very very grateful to the hosts and their tremendously beautiful property!

I hesitate to share too much so that this place remains a secret! The green cottage was such a perfect location - steps from the beach, lovely covered deck, beautiful view. You can even see the ocean through the bathroom window and the kitchen. Perfect for a couple. Great beach and snorkeling. Within walking distance to two beach restaurants/bars (Big Bamboo and Flash of Beauty). So relaxing and quiet. We hope to return in the future!

Our stay was truly restful amongst the sweet sounds of the coqui frogs. We slept well on the comfortable bed. Easy to find with the precise location the host provided. Very responsive when we called upon arrival to access the gate securing the property.

Loved our stay at Tom’s place! The location is fantastic with lots of great restaurants near by and it’s a great home base if you want to visit a wide range of places like San Juan and Fajardo. The home is up the mountain away from the main road which made it peaceful as well as beautiful. You can tell Tom takes pride in his villa and gave the extra care to make it feel homey and inviting. The villa was equipped with everything we needed and Tom was very responsive with any questions we had. This property is definitely a unique gem!

The property was even better than I could imagine. The views are stunning and being surrounded by the rainforest was amazing. Finding the house wasn't as hard as it could've been due to the clear, thorough directions provided. They were super helpful considering many of the roads look like dead ends or driveways. After traveling all morning with a 3 yr old, we arrived to the house a little early and Arthur was gracious enough to let us in the Airbnb. Seriously can't thank him enough for that. Overall it was a great experience, can't wait to stay here again!

Finding this spot was a true gift for us - gorgeous, away from it all, down to earth farm in the islands. We felt at home, being homesteaders ourselves. We were warmly welcomed, loved hearing about their work and mission, and enjoyed every interaction we had with the whole farm family ❤️ It is a working farm, and still they were so generous and kind with their time talking with us. We also were lucky enough to purchase fresh produce to take for our stay on another island, absolutely divine! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Stayed here for 3 nights in April. Great home base while exploring eastern Puerto Rico and El Yunque. Walking distance from the food truck spot. Loved the vibe. Quiet, yoga, hot tube, and cute. Thanks!

We loved this studio and really enjoyed hanging out on the lower back patio in the mornings and evenings enjoying the view and sounds. As others have said, the sounds of nature are surprisingly loud especially at night. Yes, the rain but the coqui frogs too! Not a problem for us and we knew what to expect. The studio matched the listing in it's description and photos. The hosts were responsive and friendly. A couple things to mention that I don't think I saw in other reviews or the listing. It can be a bit cooler at night and I was glad I had a sweatshirt. We never even used the A/C. While the studio is quite private, it is extremely close to another house (I believe the owners of the studio). Not a problem but good to know. Overall, we absolutely loved this place and would come back. We debated staying walking distance to restaurants and the beach but glad we chose this option! You have to drive to the swimmable beaches anyways, and it was nice to retreat at the end of the day.

Just like the pictures. Amazing view of the bay and ocean. Loved hanging out in the back yard under the lights at night, and the front yard with ocean views during the day. Water pressure, hot water, outdoor shower, air conditioning all worked perfectly. Everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Claudia was super responsive and went out of her way to make me feel right at home. Already looking forward to our next stay here

Amazing little gem! We stayed for two nights and wish we had more time. It was very windy and rainy one of the days.. We loved the outdoor shower and tub/small pool and wished that the water was a little warmer or we could control it, as it was slightly chilly when we were there especially with the wind on the hillside. My boyfriend enjoyed it! The view was simply amazing and the space was utilized very well being small it was surprisingly comfortable. We loved the outdoor bed and the rest of the outdoor space very well thought out. One of our favorite Airbnb’s in Puerto Rico close to beaches and restaurants. Will stay again!

The place was very clean and in a safe area. The jacuzzi was wonderful and so relaxing! Alexis responded very fast and even came to fix an issue with the jacuzzi. There were a few necessary household items missing though, for example, no sharp knife to cut anything for making meals (just butter knives), no pan to put in the oven, and the pull out couch had no sheets available to be able to sleep there. Additionally there was just half a paper towel roll when we arrived and no dish rag for dishes/cleaning up. The walk from the house to the beach is very nice and short, and there is a big grocery store on the way to the beach which was great. All in all, would definitely recommend this place for a 2-3 person group especially if they are not planning on cooking at home much.

Staying at villa was amazing and worth every penny. We loved the beaches and the scenery and the atmosphere. Will definitely come back

I have no words to describe it. It was an excellent stay, very comfortable and cozy. I didn't fall in love, and we'll soon be visiting the facilities again. Thanks to Yesenia for providing us with that little space

What a beautiful place! The cabin was comfortable for the 4 of us, tastefully furnished and with a large balcony overlooking the hills and jungle. It was wonderful to wake up to this beautiful view. It is private, yet close to the hosts' house. Ashley was helpful and responsive.

Truly a gem! Jungle & beach treehouse oasis accessible to a ton to do. Cute perros were a sweet addition. Thanks again Jesse & Socorro!

This place is perfect for a beachside getaway! It offers plenty of privacy, with the beach right in the backyard — an unbeatable location for a relaxing escape. The house was spotless and well-maintained, making our stay even more enjoyable. One tip: double-check the address for your Uber, as we had a bit of trouble finding the house once we arrived in the area. Overall, we had an amazing time, the beach was stunning, and we would definitely love to come back again!

Mayra’s stay was peaceful and calming. My boyfriend and I booked on a whim when we needed a change of locations and we are so happy we did! We were able to relax and enjoy being surrounded by nature. We were primarily there to sleep but we found a great restaurant for dinner 20 min away called Vista Al Mar that we loved! Would recommend if you are looking for a quiet escape.

This was our 4th time at La Vecindad! This place is already our second home and the place to go to whenever we feel to get away from everyday life. Peaceful, quiet and just a minute walk to the beach! Carlos is a great host, always available for his guests! 4th time and we will be back for our fifth, sixth and so on!

Can’t recommend this place enough! Fantastic location, comfortable stay, and the outside rain-shower is amazing! The host Jason is lovely, was so helpful when we needed advice, and gave us awesome recommendations of where to go and what to do!

We had a great time and WOW such bio diversity! Was beautiful to wake up and see some of the animals. Unfortunately we didn’t get to walk the farm as we hiked and didn’t get in until late then were headed for the west coast - sunset in Rincon the following day. Will make it a point to be back.
