Family-friendly vacation rentals in Twentynine Palms

Ben's place was the perfect little getaway for my birthday celebration weekend this year. While the weather was not cooperating (we arrived on the day of a power outage, and the desert winds would not die down), we still had a delightful weekend in this special place. The pictures show the place exactly as is - no surprises! We loved the giant windows for the views! The place was well stocked with board games/coloring books/old school classic DVDs for the millennial children. The kitchen was also well-stocked with leftover spices/oils for your cooking needs (with the exception that there was no KitchenAid mixer shown in pics). While we had some small issues (the vinyl player was broken and the heated spa didn't work), Kate (Ben's co-host) was prompt with all her responses and did her best to make us at ease. They were also flexible with our check-in time. We'd love to be back for the pool and spa if we can come back again, and further explore the hidden trail right behind the property.

Beautiful place , very relaxing and beautiful. Perfect location, and amazing hosts who will be there to answer anything you need. Wish I could afford to stay here every weekend. One of the best places we have stayed.

Clean, comfortable home with a modern/minimalist style in an excellent location, close to both the park entrance and the artsy village area. We enjoyed our stay!

We had an incredible stay in this beautiful house! The stunning sunset views were truly unforgettable, and every evening felt magical. The home is so cozy and thoughtfully designed, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Perfect location to visit Joshua Tree National Park. Definitely recommend!

Just finished a fantastic stay at Laura and Mark's in Joshua Tree - what a treat! They really went all-in with the vintage theme, but did so in a way that felt both authentic and usable. Sometimes you see these wonderfully midcentury homes where it feels a bit too much like a museum - not the case here! Their instructions throughout the house were perfect and clear: took only a quick read to understand how to use their wonderful AV setup. There were some nice touches like robes in the closet, hangers for formal wear, and a fantastic jacuzzi! Hosts were warm and communicative. Would happily stay here again. Thanks for the fun experience!

This was an amazing place to stay! Would recommend any group of friends trying to get out of the city or just for a getaway. The host was really communicative and helpful the whole time !

This was a great place for our two couple stay in Joshua Tree. The hot tub was a great place to relax after a long hike. I highly recommend!

Amazing place very close to entrance of Jashua tree National park. Beautiful views all around and great hot tub. Veronica was very easy to communicate and extremely responsive for any issues that came up.

Came to Joshua Tree last minute to escape the LA wildfires. The home was absolutely beautiful. Lovely decor and comfy beds. Very spacious and clean! The hot tub and fenced in, private back yard were the highlights for me. Unfortunately the city lost power for most of my stay, but this was out of anyone’s control. Grateful to have had some fresh air and a roof over my head during such uncertain times in Southern California. I’d love to visit again under different circumstances!

Audrey was an incredibly kind and thoughtful host. It was a fun, quirky place to stay and great value for our quick trip. The highlight was some incredible star gazing by the fire pit.

This home is a slice of heaven. The property is gorgeous. Incredible views and just a walk down the dirt road is a great hike. The house is private, spacious and clean. It has a great energy. The beds were so comfortable. The game room was such a bonus with video game and pool table. The hot tub was clean and gorgeous. The kitchen is brand new. The living room was a cozy spot to watch movies. I cannot say enough about Tiger as a host. He was so kind and flexible as we were evacuated from LA from a fire. We will definitely be back and will recommend this air b n b to our friends. Such a peaceful retreat under the stars!!!! 4 minutes from the copper a room and 10 minutes from pioneer town!

We had a great stay at this home! It's super close to Joshua Tree Nationals Park entrance, and quick drive to the town center as well. Cell service could be spotty in some places but the host prepared mobile hotspot which is very helpful!

Jacks place was absolutely beautiful and worked perfectly for 7 family members and a dog. The decor was amazing - it looks like so much thought and love went into the interior (and exterior) design. Great book and album collection! Awesome artwork! We loved the open concept layout with the two separate wings with the bedrooms. The spacious kitchen was well-stocked with coffee and spices and everything we needed to make family meals. The large dining room table was a perfect place for game nights. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna and used the fire pit to roast marshmallows (getting the online permit to use the fire pit was super quick and easy). Stargazing was incredible and the sunrises were stunning. The location was easy to get to and close to town and Joshua Tree National Park. So quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend Jupiter Flats and look forward to staying here again in the future!

Great location in Josuha Tree. Only a few minutes away from Josuha tree, pioneer town and also some great restaurants. At the same time very peaceful, and far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the silence.... Beautiful grounds with a variety of cactus and several jack rabbits!. The firepit is the perfect place to spend the night with family or friends, keeping warm while watching the stars at night. One recommendation, install a light near the hot tub, its very hard to make your way at night (it gets dark quick). Even a solar light would be fine, just something to kind of guide you. Be aware... there is NO TV in the living area, only the master bedroom. Not a problem for us, we were there for the outdoors, but some might also expect a family area TV at this price point. The house while beautiful is in need of some TLC. The desert does take it's toll. Overall, very happy with the stay and Tim did a fantastic job communicating. This is a great place to stay.....

I had a lovely stay! The location was beautiful and absolutely perfect for viewing the stars. It's tucked away and very peaceful, but not too far away from town.

Wonderland is a true desert gem, as was every interaction I had with the excellent hosts. The location of this sweet home is perfect: walking distance to town, short drives to local interests, high enough up a gentle hill so that sunsets are sprawling. The back yard is generous and perfect for relaxing, great for people and dogs! 10/10!

Stunning retreat just minutes from. Joshua Tree National Park. Wonderful spa to relax in and look at the stars after a day in the park. Great hosts. Exceeded expectations in so many ways!

This place is a gem! We had a lovely time here. The property is great, beautiful pool and outdoor space. The house was so cute and cozy. We had everything we needed right there! And the neighborhood is awesome, the house is walking distance to 29 Palms Inn and several other local businesses, and very close to the park. Ron was a great host, very responsive and kind. Check in and check out was very simple. We had a marvelous time and we’ll certainly be back!

We left LA because of the fires and it was so nice to have such a lovely spacious place to land after a harrowing few days. There was plenty of space for everybody (we were two small families) and it was great to be so close to the park and town. Fieldtrip was really sweet and gave us a generous discount on a few extra nights so we could stay away from the smoke a bit longer. We will be forever grateful.

Whimsically wonderful property to tap into your souls inner child and just rejoice in life! You will feel joyous and childlike walking around the property exploring all the incredible art gardens. The are no words for the beauty and expansiveness of the mountain views other than ”Heaven on Earth.” I swear you can see for miles and miles. The night sky will capture you and take you on a journey throughout the stars like no other.🤩 The kitchen is basically chef ready and everything is easy to find and use. Beds are comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and bedding. Bathrooms are clean and sanitary. Laundry facilities inside home with detergents available and FREE to use - no coin deposit! Easiest and best WiFi connection I’ve ever had in the middle of the desert. Property is so incredibly private, yet easy to find and access. I highly recommend this property!

Rand's place had everything that we needed. We enjoyed the privacy, hot tub, the old school DVD and the extra towels. Rand was super responsive and was ready to help when needed.

We loved our stay! Barbara and Clint’s home was gracious and lovely. The comfortable living room and large dining area were perfect for our family. The location was excellent, with dog-friendly hiking trails, restaurants, and a Saturday market nearby. We especially enjoyed the expansive back patio with a large spa and pool. We will return!

We had a great time swimming, cooking and hanging out in Heike and Georg's home. Would visit again.

House was spacious and comfortable and an amazing and peaceful location with very few visible neighbors. Very close to the park entrance and also downtown JTree. Would definitely stay again!
