We had an unforgettable time at Steinvoll with two amazing hosts (Stine and Per Gunnar), the dog Tuva and a lot of sheep! We appreciate that the hosts spent time with us and we learned a lot about Norway, its culture and history. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the dining room was breathtaking. If anything is missing, the hosts will help and provide you with it. We borrowed snowsuits and shoe covers.

The house was immaculate, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to cater to all our needs. Janne went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, providing helpful tips about local attractions, the best spots to view the Northern Lights, and even suggesting kid-friendly activities for our 3-year-old. The location was perfect – close to the city center yet serene enough to enjoy the beauty of Tromsø’s snowy landscapes. What stood out most was the personal touch Janne added throughout our stay. Ervina was a great host. The place was really neat and well equipped. For us especially since we were sick that day, even though it was late for her, helped us through her friends. A lovely place and I highly recommend staying there.

This was well worth the trip! The cabin was exactly as described and exactly as it looked in photographs. The Northern Lights both on the deck and inside the solarium were an absolute delight—exactly what we came for. The cabin is fairly remote and while accessible, would proceed with caution (even for experienced winter drivers). Many surrounding restaurants were closed for Christmas period, but a few things in Senjahopen were open and provided what we needed. We are already saying w need to begin thinking about visiting the cabin in the summer—Senja is a place you can’t miss.
