Enjoyed our stay at Dai’s place. Dai cooked us a full course meal, told us local folklore story and guided us up a local mountain for pristine views. We also really enjoyed sitting in the kotatsu. Would recommend for a unique and authentic local experience.

We had a really wonderful stay here. Fuji-san was so unbelievably kind to us and really went out of her way to help us. Her and her mother made the most amazing food. Would definitely recommend. A very authentic Japanese countryside experience.

Outstanding place - one of the best I’ve stayed in via Airbnb. Excellent value to have a whole little Japanese house to yourself in a quiet area on the top of a hill. It’s the little things that all add up to make this special: clear translated instructions on all the electronics, all you need to cook in the fully equipped kitchen, Japanese his & hers robes you can wear with diagrams on how to tie the knots in the traditional fashion, free washing powder for the laundry machine, and more. Bed is a futon style mattress on the floor and extremely comfortable - I am a very finicky sleeper and often have problems but not here. The cherry on top is the free use of the e-bike - there’s not much to do in Onagawa (which is why I went there, wanted to go somewhere “real” and non touristy) and there’s only so much you can see on foot. With the bike I had two splendid rides through the countryside / hills and around the bay - it was really a special experience. Hosts are amazing & helpful!

There was a supermarket and convenience store around, and it was a very easy location to go to when everyone decided what to make and go shopping.Even if I stayed with 8 people, I was able to relax and relax without feeling small, and I wanted to stay again.

A rather authentic stay in the traditional house with Japanese futon beds and fully equipped kitchen :) What really stood out was Kiku-san's impeccable hospitality - we had the indoor slippers laid out to welcome us back every single time! To top things off, I had left something behind and Kiku-san went the extra mile to communicate with the receiving hotel so that the receptionist could verify with me even when I had almost forgotten about it myself when I was checking in!

We had a very pleasant stay in Ishinomaki. The city and its surroundings offer a calm setting and beautiful landscapes. Thanks to the hosts recommendations, we were able to enjoy discovering the local food and visiting the cat island, Tashirojima.

We stayed two nights here and enjoyed it so much. The room was very comfortable and the staff was so friendly and helpful. ANA lost our luggage and the staff of CAMOSIBA coordinated with them on our behalf to have it delivered at the hostel, which we appreciated beyond words. The breakfast at the hostel was also very delicious— I really recommend it. The heater worked great for the cold nights we stayed there, and the owner gave us great recommendations on food in the area— there are lots of great restaurants within walking distance and also very close to the station. I would absolutely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Quinlan’s place and we had been following his adventures as a hiker and nature lover for a while! Quinlan has been super friendly and made us feel at home. the japanese room is breathtakingly beautiful!! The whole place feels really special. He kindly organised for us to go together on a foraging adventure with his friend who knows a lot about wild food. He allowed us to use his personal kitchen space to prepare the foraged food which is very generous! We had a magical day and hope to visit again in the future :) thank you so much for the great time and memories together! またね！
