What a beautiful spot. Couldn’t ask for somewhere more peaceful, comfortable or private to enjoy some quality time in nature with family. Deborahs place is stunning and has everything you need to relax. Top tip : Bring eye patches to sleep if you are sensitive to light as it’s brilliantly bright from sunrise to sunset in both bedrooms ~ which of course maximizes on the incredible views and adds to the stylish look of the place. We will be back!

The perfect getaway. The Perch was so peaceful and inspiring. Coffee on the back deck is a dream. They really preserved nature around the home (I can't imagine the efforts and precautions taken during construction). The living room window was like looking into a terrarium, especially with the outdoor lights at night, I loved looking out through that window. We appreciated the art around the cabin, books, dimmable lights, and big comfy couch! The hosts are caring and kind, and we hope to be able to visit again soon.

This cozy room in a cute house with a large beautiful garden was fairly close to an event I was attending in downtown Courtenay. It was about $100 cheaper than a hotel over two nights, and even more since you can use the kitchen to cook. It was easy to find and Hans Peter gave very good instructions on how to enter as well as ground rules for using the place. The communication was excellent via Airbnb. You can use the common areas and he'll even leave space for your food in the fridge, yet it's also quiet and peaceful as everyone respects each other's privacy. I would definitely stay here again!

My friend and I had an amazing stay!! We loved it so much. The gardens were beautiful and we enjoyed having our meals outside. The breakfasts that Connie prepared were tasty and thoughtful. The suite was comfortable and clean. The kitchenette had everything needed to prepare simple meals. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk about and there are lots of other magical spots on this end of the island. Our stay was memorable and we hope to visit again!

We loved it here! The cottage and property were so charming and inviting. Our kids loved their cozy bed nooks with toys hidden underneath. We all enjoyed spending time with the animals and wandering the wonderful flower and vegetable gardens. Carol was exceptionally welcoming and generous. We would definitely recommend staying here and are already planning to return.

Second time here. Loved it. Feasted on oysters and clams. Rob and Josephine are lovely, welcomed us with hugs. :)

This was our second visit to Shoal Bay cabins and we enjoyed it every bit as much as our first. We talked a bit with Mark about the return of Pink Salmon to the small creek that runs across their property after many decades abscence. Some Pinks have already gone up stream to spawn but hundreds more are waiting in Shoal Bay for the next rain. Mark has done some impressive trail building to allow visitors access to upstream parts of the creek, cleared debris from the creek bed and planted many trees to aid in habitat restoration. This is hard physical labour, which is crucial to recovery of the creek as a viable spawning destination for salmon. The future of salmon all along the BC coast is largely dependent upon the voluntary efforts of dedicated conservationists like Mark.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The space is comfy and homey, the property is beautiful and peaceful. We were very happy to have chosen such a wonderful place to spend our weekend.

We stayed for 2 nights in early December and really enjoyed the space! The cabin is very well thought out. Everything had a place with minimal clutter, even in such a small space. It’s in a cute and peaceful location in the woods which made for a very cozy stay. They even had a crib board that we enjoyed a few games with. There are so many awesome trails all within a 25 minute drive which we were able to enjoy. Overall, I would recommend this place as a less glamorous but very cozy get away.

We had such a nice stay here! The yurt was super cozy and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was also fun getting to see the animals from the windows and the dog is super friendly!!

This house was perfect for our family get together. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of space for five adults to sit comfortably. The host responded quickly to any messages. Unfortunately, we had wet weather so weren't able to use the fabulous outdoor patio space, but we may come back next year.

Was at Nora's place for work, did not get to see the place during daylight, but did enjoy the view of Campbell River's city lights in the backgound. There were farm fresh eggs in the fridge, and she gave me delicious Rooster soup and oysters picked from the beach out front. It was a two bedroom penthouse, with a separate entrance, modern bathroom and full kitchen, with tea and spices on the counter. My first stay at a bnb and it was a pleasant surprise.

This place is just amazing. Very comfortable, private, quiet and beautiful surroundings. It is an excellent location for a longer stay. It is close to the beach, and the forest. Best place to relax. You will find everything you need to feel very spacial at this place. Highly recommend.

The tiny house at Smith Lake Farm is a magical place to stay. We had everything we needed. The lake is beautiful and peaceful. The tiny house is cozy and inviting. The sauna was phenomenal. Clea was easy going and communicative. I’m writing this review with honey from the farm in my morning coffee. It’s delicious! What a wonderful place to stay and experience!

Was everything that was advertised. Central location for us to travel to Campbell River and Comox/Courtney for our adventures.

This is one of the most charming, warm, comfortable and beautiful places I have had the pleasure of staying at! I would suggest this place to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable to stay in the area Roy was a wonderful host, communicative, friendly, and considerate.

The pictures are great, but they do not do the place justice. It is huge. The kitchen is unbelievably fully stocked. Not like some airbnb's with four forks and four plates. You could feed an army with the dishes, pots and pans. The beds are comfortable, the view is great. Having the kids with us, there were a lot of games and activities in the house to do and keep them busy when it rained. Bronwyn and John were responsive and helped when we needed it. Our family enjoyed the place immensely. We were traveling with six adults and two children under 7.

Wonderful stay! The place and environment is beautiful, the yurt feels very cozy and Chanchal so helpful and kind. It is a beautiful get away to disconnect. The only thing to be aware of, based on personal preference, is that the bed is quite soft.
