This was a nice and comfortable spot to stay with our dogs over the holidays. Our hosts even shoveled the place out on Christmas Eve after a snowstorm, and they were laid back and flexible. Thanks!

Hytta House is a peaceful retreat nestled in Maine's coastal forest, perfectly positioned between Acadia National Park and the scenic Schoodic Peninsula. This cozy home served as an ideal basecamp for exploring both the popular Bar Harbor area and the quieter, hidden gems of downeast Maine. The property's serene setting (complete with backyard deer sightings!) and proximity to local restaurants, secluded beaches, and spectacular views made for an true Maine experience away from the tourist crowds. While Bar Harbor's charm is undeniable and worth visiting, staying at Hytta House allowed us to experience Maine's true magic in its less-traveled destinations - from quaint local eateries to hidden coastal viewpoints that reward the extra effort to reach them. The relaxing atmosphere was perfect for unwinding after days of adventure, especially with the gorgeous Schoodic Peninsula sunsets just minutes away. I can't wait to return here again!

We had a wonderful getaway. The home was well taken care of, clean, and nicely decorated. The water views, sunsets, and sunrises were picture perfect. If you are a light sleeper, there is a horn that goes on periodically through the night. You may want to sleep in the back bedroom if that will bother you. We would stay here again. It was peaceful.

The house was just what we needed for a weekend visiting friends in the area. It was nice to have the yard for our dog.

We stayed at Sabrina's place for 2 nights while visiting Acadia. The property is very private and quiet. it had a view of the cove right behind the house. We enjoyed going out there to see the sunrise. The house is very clean and organized. It had everything we needed for out stay. I would recommend this if your looking for a place away from the crowds of Acadia National Park.

Kinfolk cottage was fabulous! Beautiful home, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, large dining area, and a lovely backyard with fire pit and hammock! Wish we could have stayed longer it was a true home away from home! Perfect for our family getaway to Acadia. Walkable to town and minutes to the park. Anne was a lovely host and was very responsive! Even my kids commented on how great the house was compared to other Airbnb experiences! We hope to return next year! Thank you Anne!

Great house and good location, it was warm during our stay. Enough space for our company. Not far away from the city. Overall it was nice staying there.

The place is great, low key neighborhood. The unit was clean and cozy. The hot tub was awesome and I would imagine the pool would be just as nice if our visit was not during February! Will definitely think about going again when a night or two away is wanted.

My family of 7 (2 adults, 5 children) had a fabulous stay at the Liberty Luxe. The home is stunning and has a TON of space to spread out. The pool room (with hot tub, televisions and surround sound) was the highlight of our stay. The pool was HUGE and the space was always toasty warm. Our four year old who is typically cold, was more than comfortable in the always 86 degree water. Whatever you do, be sure to get up to watch the sunrise!!! Breathtaking would be an understatement.

The house itself is beautiful, with great attention to detail, and we felt so comfortable during our time there. When we did need to reach out to the host, they were very quick to respond and incredibly helpful. My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

BEAUTIFUL Home!! Tons of space to relax and spread out with our family! The beds were very comfortable! We really appreciated all of the bathrooms for our group! The kitchen was huge and so handy for preparing meals! I absolutely loved the style and atmosphere of this wonderful home! We also loved being able to bring our dogs!! We had a lovely time and we would most definitely come back!!! 🥰

This lovely apartment directly overlooking the park in downtown Bar Harbor was the perfect place for our family. With grandparents, parents, two small children, and a chihuahua, we had room to spread out, sleep comfortably, walk to the beach and the park, shop, and eat wonderful food and ice cream. I would want others to know that the stairs up to the apartment are steep, a tiny bit tricky for the senior with bad knees and the toddlers with short legs. The apartment has a Smart TV, which wasn't really watchable for us. If they had cable it would have been just perfect! Overall, this place was in a dream location and afforded all of us a chance to relax and enjoy the gorgeous fall weekend in Maine.

Fantastic spot. The cabin is so well equipped and squeaky clean. Maggie has thought of everything! Walkable to town in minutes and private. There are even glimpses of the sparkling ocean. 5 stars!

Our family and I had a wonderful stay at Jackies, we are all originally from maine, and her home gives you everything great about maine. We really felt at home, it snowed christmas eve which made it even more beautiful ( The driveway was plowed out early as well). I brought a small christmas tree with us on our trip up, and when we walked in, the place was decorated for christmas, which was just amazing and so thoughtful. We definitly plan on staying again, the next time we are back in maine. Thank you again Jackie!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samantha's place in Cushing. To say that she is "very responsive" would be an understatement. She typically responded within 10 minutes no matter what my question was. She lives a short distance away which really helped facilitate things. We had a minor issue with the Internet which required communication with the service provider, but she coordinated everything and resolved it right away. The house is totally charming - old, a bit creaky and adorable - and well maintained (no issues there). We imagined how great it would be to visit in wintertime and snuggle up to a roaring fire. They have an expansive yard with gardens great for a short evening stroll. Forest habitat behind the property was great for bird watching. The area is absolutely beautiful - quintissential coastal Maine. The Olson House (local attraction) is a few minutes drive from the house. The grounds have a walking trail along the water with fantastic views of the coast.

What an amazing time I had at this place! I got married to my best friend and we had our families joined together! Everyone cooking every night, beach walks, board games, and fires for when it got a little cold. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding week! My family had a great time staying here. Very quiet and private and warm during winter storms. Host was quick to plow the snow in the driveway. The ride into town is about 20 minutes and there's a lot of wildlife on the way. We found a lot of antiques at the stores and malls around town. The beds were the most comfortable beds I ever slept in. The sectional couch was very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Kimberly is a wonderful host! She made sure to check in with us and see that everything was fine, and informed us well about how to get to the home as well as all the amenities available to us and other things to watch out for (such as being off the grid, etc.). I would definitely come back again!
