Cottage vacation rentals in Sri Lanka

I am English staying with young family.. 6 of us a laf minute booking. Much to appreciate from RUPUL as a Barrister at the Bar in Kandy/Colombo and country’s high Courts . I’m a forever returning visitor. The sitting room so stylish and crammed with not just law material! The breakfast was excellent and very accommodating for taking 2nd one with is to sight see early. Very nice and nice stay. Very well maintained and close to Udawalawe to do a safari! Very friendly people. Also the food was 100% fine.

We had a brilliant stay at Sanaka’s! An authentic gentlemen, beautiful house and fantastic surroundings. At the doorstep of the knuckles national park. Kumari’s cooking and hospitality was the icing on cake! We asked for vegan food and were extremely happy! To sum up amazing hospitality and surroundings. Would recommend to anyone and will stay here again next visit.

We had a really nice time! The two Cabins are perfect for two couples. From there you can reach the ancient part of Polonnaruwa very easily. Also you have a nice view on the Lake!

The house is located in a quiet place, in a small palm forest, next to the beach. Anushka was always in touch and resolved all issues, as well as organized a tour. The house had hot water, ac and fans. There are cafes and shops nearby, convenient access to the station. There are always few people on the beach, which is great. Would recommend this house and its host. Thank you!

I could not have wished for a better place to land in the culture of Sri Lanka. Agapi Villa, truly lives up to its name: love. The loving attention that this place is created with is felt within every detail. The shower is fantastic, the kitchen has all you need to create a home-cooked meal. The bicylcle I could borrow added a lot of value to my experience. Cycling through the country side, along the ocean and to the near by city made me able to really feel as if I was taking part in the Sri Lankan life. To meet Christina, Keshan and their family and get to peek into the life they are living; a full devotion to care for the street dogs in Sri Lanka, truly left an Imprint in my heart. As well as their heart warming presence and genuine care and help during my stay. If you are wish to experience Sri lanka in an authentic way, away from the mass tourist and find yourself at one of the beaches that make you feel as if you are inside of a post-card, this is the place for you to be!

I booked this bnb when I visited my family in Sri Lanka. I needed a place that looked like my home for several days until my home renovation was complete. This listing was perfect since it was within walking distance of the Pelawatta junction. I bet anyone who is visiting the Overseas International School would greatly appreciate this location since it is a short walk away. The property manager/caretaker was extremely polite and very responsive. I liked the layout of the house. The bedroom downstairs was perfect for my parents while the kids and I had it upstairs. The kitchen and the dining area were a daily hangout place where we would sit down and chat for hours, a very cozy and homely place. Enjoyed my stay and made my visit to Sri Lanka even better! thank you!

Lovely colonial-style bungalow, in a great location. The tea estate is fantastic, just wandering around and saying hello to the villagers was fun. Lots of walks to do nearby (the descent from Idulgashina station is a beautiful, easy hike, and the walk down through Bathgoda village is great for counting all the different fruit and vegetables being grown). Otherwise just sit on the verandah and read a book, enjoy the view, or sleep off one of Pria’s excellent meals.

We were extremely happy to stay at Malith place. It had an outstanding balcony view, stable hot water and wifi. His sister was extremely helpful. Can definitely recommend it.

I’ve stayed at many Airbnb’s and this may be my favorite. It’s serene, right in nature, yet extremely comfortable. They get me anything I need, food, water, etc. The bed is comfy, the middle glass room is my favorite, to write and meditate and stare at the eagles. The kitchen has everything you need. This place is perfect if you want an escape. If you want time to just be with yourself and loved ones. I feel really blessed to have found this space. It’s exactly what I needed for this point in my life. 5 stars across the board. I hope you get to experience the magic of this Airbnb.

We had a great stay here whilst doing a safari tour. The apartment was clean and comfortable and Hasith was extremely accommodating with food and breakfast considerations. Even making us a fruit platter to take out on our safari with a different tour operator. Lounging on the netting was a great spot to sit for an evening read whilst listening to the wildlife. The bathroom was also great, with the waterfall shower in the open top space giving it a good atmosphere. Would recommend staying here for sure

We enjoyed our stay here - a short walk to the lake and the supermarket. It was great to have a kitchen with good pans and sharp knives for cooking. it is spacious and clean. Charles is an excellent host. There is not extra heating when we were there but 2 blankets with warm pyjamas were sufficient for the area. Discuss with Charles beforehand about the plan with lovely Devi who is the maid of the house, to suit what privacy you'd prefer. Two chilled big dogs lounge out front as well. We would recommend his stay for a family.

This is extraordinary, total gem, the best of the best... this is real someones dream came through, so if you ever dreamed of beautiful and peacefull castle on the beach, this might be the answer, the epic journey, to try how it feels like, be a part of Erics dream who built this paradise for himself but you may taste it as well for the time you stay, we were too lucky to find this place and spent 8 best nights of our life here, do not hasitate and book this villa , you stay in real paradise for a bargain, beaches around you, birds singing, no tourists nor locals bothering you, very private, best location, best holiday! We loved this place...

It was the best place we stayed in Sri-Lanka. The staff were the nicest people, very helpful. We stayed in many places, but this one is something special. Great place, great view, location and staff. They even have the big book with hundreds of reviews inside. Like old school stile. The place is really authentic (in the good way) Highly recommended!
