A really great stay! Well decked out shepherds hut, fresh eggs and orange juice provided for breakfast! The host was lovely, welcoming and provided very useful and detailed instructions for finding it. Would definitely stay again when visiting Skye!

Great 2 night stay at this lovely quaint cabin. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay and hopefully get the chance to visit again. We were able to check in earlier than the time specified and was soon greeted by Paul who took the time to chat with us and give us some local information

I’m from Skye, family is there. And it was a perfect place for us to stay close to family on a visit. It was absolutely A1 ever was brilliant and we didn’t want to leave. We will return next year hopefully Thanks again so much to Wendy It’s hard to find perfection when renting a holiday let, yet this place was perfect for us 5 stars

What a magical place! We absolutely loved our stay here and already dream of coming back. The inside is soooo beautiful and comfortable that we didn’t mind staying in on rainy days. We could never get sick of watching the sheep roaming the hillsides or the ever changing coast from the fabulous sunroom. The only downside is we were unaware of the time involved to bring the wood-fired hot tub up to temp. It takes an hour to fill with water and “up to 3.5 hours to heat in the winter”. Since we can’t leave the fire unattended, we weren’t able to enjoy it until our third night since we arrived home so late on the previous nights. It is also very hard to find in the dark and the pin led us to the wrong spot. Google Mapsing the house name took us to the right spot, but we arrived in the dark and were unable to see the sign to the bottom right of the gate. Everything else was completely perfect and we highly recommend staying in this lovely place.

Beautiful place, the photos really don't do it justice. Very modern, clean and well laid out. We really appreciated the extra touches, the toiletries and essentials in the kitchen were great. We also loved our visits from Lulu (the cat) in the evenings. Thank you for having us.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the beautiful little cottage. Like a tardis with a nice roomy, cosy interior. Lots of space for cooking and very well equipped. The cottage has a fascinating history, which we learned from Maria, information in the cottage and a mention in the Kildonian museum, which especially opened for us as it closes for the winter in October. Despite the closure of cafes and tourist sites for the winter, we still managed lots of beautiful walks with magical views, and to shop well for a restorative feast at the end of the day. Also, enjoyed a fanastic evening of Scottish music at the Ceolas centre and a trip to Barra and the cafe in the lovely community gardens there, plus stocking up on seafood at the Barratlantic shop and things to take home at the Buth Bharraigh community shop. A lovely place to stay and a great location.

Good communications and Ronnie even popped round to see how I’d settled in. Instructions on finding the place were spot on, I was left with no doubt as to where the cottage is. There is an information folder which is concise and helpful The cottage is perfect for my needs, as a single traveller for work. It’s ideal for singles or a couple to explore the islands. The Hebridean Way goes right past the cottage Excellent WiFi - speed good enough to stream TV and a helpful guide on how to connect etc. The place is clean with the right amount of amenities. Heating is good and instructions are great. Thank you also for the welcome gift. It’s my favourite! Would definitely stay here again

The place was perfect for what we needed. Added bonus was meals you can order from her (ask for the menu options, she has different size servings). We got the steak pie and it was delicious, perfect after a day of adventures. She is a great chef! Also walk to the end of the road for sunset (or you can drive) it's about a mile, but an easy, flat walk through various water spots where wildlife is. We saw peregrine falcon, ibis and many water birds. Caught the backside of an otter as well. The caravan is one of three in an area right off the road, but is fairly private. Based on research we did, it's the best deal you will find and very worth it. Highly recommend and Bernadette is lovely. Erin go bragh!

Barra is beautiful but your stay will be all the more delightful if you choose this cosy beautifully located spot. Elaine was so friendly and the views from her place are exceptional. We spent long happy periods watching the oyster catchers in the rock pools and it was fun to see the ferry coming and going. It’s a useful place if self catering and it came pre-stocked with some useful supplies like jam, butter and coffee but the co-op is only a four minute walk away and is open till 10 pm. All in all a very relaxing and positive experience and is highly recommended.

Dark Skye Cottage

The Dark Syke Cottage was everything and more. The cottage was beautifully appointed, cozy, and comfortable. Sally provided excellent instructions and recommendations to local fare. Many local attractions are within a short driving distance. We enjoyed sitting in the window filled cottage watching the local sheep and lambs walk across the Scottish landscape, amazing sunsets, and northern lights. Thank you!

Joan was super responsive. Although her instructions were limited to 2 pages, she answered any question I had within minutes. The area is lovely and she recommended The Brewery, which is a great restaurant with a wide selection of beers brewed on the premises. She also recommended a local weaver, which was a highlight of our stay. The house had what we needed. The heating boost was easy to use.

Wonderful stay. Well situated to expore North and South UIst, with lovely cafe, fish shop, and wool shop, within easy access. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Very thoughtfully, and tastefully, furnished and equipped. Lovely views of the loch, and very entertaining sheep wandering by. Robin and Michelle couldn't have been more helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our break in their beautiful cottage.

I felt right at home here, it was so warm, cosy and comfortable. It was in a good location to explore the island. the front garden was enclosed which was great as i had a dog. Hosts popped round to make sure all was well and gave us good information about the area, places to eat, and things to do etc. I would recommend this property to anyone holidaying on the island.
