Cottage vacation rentals in Smith Beach

My husband, myself and our son and daughter in law rented Dave & Melissa’s home to celebrate my 50th birthday. I was not looking forward to turning 50 but it was such a wonderful time. I LOVE their home. It was beautifully decorated with everything we needed. Sitting on the front porch listening to the waves crash was so relaxing. We had dinner on the deck every evening. It seemed so private and peaceful. Nice furnishings even outside. Perfect for our fur babies and us. The boat landing is just a couple miles away which is really nice and convenient. We will definitely be visiting again when the weather is warmer and we can have fun in the water. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home 💜

Our stay in this home was such a treat! We enjoyed utilizing the kayaks to boat around in Chesapeake Bay. The hot tub was an absolute delight, perfect for evening stargazing, saw lots of shooting stars, and could see the water of the bay from the hot tub. We also enjoyed doing November cold plunges from the hot tub to the pool. While the living room is not expansive, it fit our needs for family game & movie nights. The bed linens were so comfortable, and Lori was beautifully responsive & friendly when we would reach out with a question. We also enjoyed the nearby Sandy beaches.

Everything was wonderful, easy to get in, and our host John was very helpful and friendly. Hotub was clean no trash in the yards felt just like home. comfortable beds the walkway to the beach was very private enjoyed that as well. Overall our stay was amazing and would love to be able to stay there again. We had so much fun <3 provided us with some detergent to wash clothes I thought that was thoughtful.

John was an amazing host. I didn't have to reach out to him during our stay because he proactively provided us with everything we needed. The house was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the beach and the comfortable sitting areas on the property. My fiancé and I were in town for a wedding and John's spot did not disappoint. We had a rental car and found great restaurants and attractions nearby. We also door dashed a couple times. John had great recommendations in the house manual. We will definitely be back. This is a really nice getaway that is peaceful and serene. The home is older, but has some nice updates. I am one that appreciates a home with character. It is in a secluded area, so at night its gets really dark in the hot tub area which we made good use of. Waking up to views of the lake was my favorite part of the day. I was sad when the sun started to go down. There are neighbors, but the houses aren't very close to each other. It is located in a small town so there aren't many food options. The restaurant we went to wasn't very good, so I'd highly recommend cooking for your stay or bringing food. That's what we did. We cooked our meals and grilled. It was fantastic. Four of us stayed there comfortably. Two couples. Overall we had a nice 3 days and I'd highly recommend.

Richard was very responsive and kind, he worked with us on a flexible check out time. The spot is an incredibly peaceful getaway.

Our trip to The Half Shell Haven was great! The place was clean, extremely well stocked, and included many extras! We had crazy weather the first two days, but we had plenty to do at the house. My boys loved being on the water and the game room and my daughter loved the hot tub and bicycling. My daughters service dog enjoyed a nice reprieve and seemed so happy. We had a great time, and were honestly sad to go! If we find ourselves back up in Virginia we will definitely stay here! Thank you for the care and attention to detail to ensure a great trip!

Absolutely beautiful home. Everything was exactly like the pictures. The weather prevented us from getting to fully enjoy the bay views, but we did get a snippet of how amazing it could be. They had plenty of supplies at the home for our convenience. I would definitely recommend this place to any and everyone.

The Crab Shack is a true gem! It is private, cozy, well appointed, wonderful hosts, and can’t get any closer to the water. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the water was a highlight. I can’t wait to come back!

We were more than satisfied with our stay! It made for a great weekend. Clean, spacious, and in a great location for exploring the area. The kitchen had everything we needed for making a family breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

My parents and I stayed here for four days. It was the perfect peaceful getaway for us. The place was really cute, two bedrooms with queen size beds, a large bathroom, and the cutest kitchen-living room area. Gloucester is a sweet town to hang out in, and the host gave some great recommendations for local places to check out. Wonderful place, we will be coming back!!

Matt was a great host and helpful. The house was great very clean with plenty of room. The veiw of the water was nice. I highly recommend if you are looking for a nice weekend getaway.

I cannot find the words to express our families stay. When I say this was the best stay at an ABNB we have had thus far it was. The outside itself from the landscaping to the scenery was breathtaking. Checking in was a breeze. Once inside pictures cannot begin to show the beauty of this property. The hosts have really thought through a guest experience. They went over and beyond hosts duties adding extreme attention to details. Anything and everything you may need or want for your stay was there. Even with all the extra amenities and the beauty of the home our family instantly felt at home. We loved our stay so much we have already booked our next stay.

What a treat to relax for a few days at Chuck's charming cottage! The house is comfortable, clean and well-equipped. We were especially impressed with the well-stocked kitchen. Our pup appreciated the fenced yard, and we loved the pleasant landscaping. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable, with a small park full of gorgeous live oaks and easy beach access just a couple blocks away. There's also a small shopping center close by with a grocery store and several restaurants. Easy access to the interstate is also a plus. Chuck is a very responsive host, and we also enjoyed some goodies from his thoughtful snack basket. We've stayed in a lot of rentals over the past 20 years, and Chuck's house is among the top properties. Thanks so much!

Nice place I really recommend

We had a delightful April stay! Despite weather that was less than ideal we had a great trip since we got to enjoy the views even when wet or cold. There were so many yummy places - mirroir just down the street, The Table (oyster tacos!), plus Miss Mary’s Seafood and the River Market when we wanted to stay in. The house itself is even better than the photos. Hosts were excellent communicators and just awesome- they left snacks including microwave popcorn that we enjoyed while watching movies and even had some crab traps set which my son just loved. We took a trip to Jamestown one day as a destination museum and it was an easy beautiful drive. Overall just loved it!! Huge thanks to our hosts for sharing this very special place!!

We enjoyed our visit to Deer Track in Chincoteague. The cottage is clean with listed amenities. We really liked the quiet neighborhood it is located in.

We loved staying at this beautiful and peaceful house! The house cozy and we felt right at home! It even snowed when we stayed in Delaville! The sunset was gorgeous and it even more amazing with a layer of snow! Would definitely love to come visit again in the summer! Thanks for a lovely weekend!

The house was everything we needed and more. And Irvington in October is absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful weekend and really appreciated Suzanne’s responsiveness and hospitality - we will be back!

Beautiful beach property, furnished in style, has all necessary things from kitchen appliances to kids entertainment. Felt right at home.

Cute, clean and very comfortable cottage with beautiful bay front large lot. Screened in porch was huge and definitely the place to be along with a lovely beach side covered wooden shelter with brand new rocking Adirondack chairs for relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous view. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate during our stay ( rainy, cold and windy ) but we could still enjoy the view from inside! Fun towns to explore within 30 minutes and good restaurants with great seafood. ( Best crab cake ever at The Oyster Farm in Cape Charles and best mussels at Mallards in Onancock. ) Would definitely rent this cottage again if back in the area.

Our first visit to Cape Charles and we loved it. K’s house is in a lovely residential area, but very close to shops and restaurants and a 10 minute walk to a beautiful beach area. The house is simple but comfortable and has everything you need (no high chair or pack & play, but we brought our own). We loved sitting on the porch.
