Cottage vacation rentals in Sausalito

The first thing you notice is the waves from all directions. You immediately feel at peace. All the amenities were easy to locate and good quality, including great pots and pans, knives dishes and gadgets for cooking. There were extra linens and towels, it was comfy upstairs and down. It was well laid out and you look out at Point Reyes and Tomales Bay while lying in bed upstairs. The stairs were quite steep but there was a nice bedroom downstairs as well. I enjoyed the heated ceramic floor in the downstairs bathroom and there was good water pressure. We loved the wide wraparound deck and dock, as well as outdoor tables and a garden. The beds and sofas were all very good quality and comfortable and it was nice to have the fireplace. The dog had room to sniff and roam safely at will as the decks and garden were well enclosed. Hog Island is one minute away, Tony’s five minutes away for the chowder, and truly awesome pizza at Route One on the way to the dog beach at Dillon. Thanks!

Mara is very friendly and considerate. She provided everything my dog and I need during the full month of stay. The house rules are clear and fair, which elevates the whole experience and simplifies communication needs. The view is fantastic in the garden. You can enjoy a very nice sauna in the early morning while overlooking the valley and listening to birds chirping. The whole experience is a good combination of natural connection, self reflection, easy access to school and city, plus safe and friendly living environment provided by Mara. Will definitely want to be here longer.

We've stayed in the Pt Reyes/Tomales Bay area a number of times and have always loved it but this was our favorite location by far. The home is welcoming, comfortable and laid out really nicely. There are a number of great restaurants nearby, Pt Reyes station is beautiful 15 minute drive away and the amazing Pt Reyes National Seashore is close as well. We can't say enough about the location of Adam's place, situated right on the Tomales Bay. Sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. We also went for a Kayak ride one day from the property which was a lot of fun. We're already looking forward to the next visit!

We loved staying at the Dipsea Cottage. It’s a beautiful, calming, and comfortable space. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, restaurants, playground, and shops. We look forward to coming back here again!

Michelle and Bill’s cottage was amazing! This was our second time staying with them, and it’s always magical and amazing! Perfect place to relax and take in the view.

This place is so magical. I sat in the hot tub in the morning and counted 9 different bird calls. Close to the epic beaches of Point Reyes. The fireplace made it extra cozy- like going back in time.

Overall we had a good stay at Susan’s rental. She was very nice and communicative. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals. Large refrigerator. Regular drip coffee pot. Very close to downtown Mill Valley so you can walk into town easily. There seemed to be a few other renters on this property, and our rental was the very back unit. The walkway down the length of the front house was a bit tight, with 2 gates. It was farther than we expected to load/unload bags. Just a heads up - Parking was a bit tricky because this property is on the main avenue (Blithedale).

Host was nice and communicated quickly and graciously. The house was very nice and all that we needed. It was hard to find at night - we did not realize it was tucked behind another house. Parking instructions said pull down the driveway and park on the right; we thought that meant the right side of the driveway but it actually meant the right spot on the left of the driveway. We cleared this up and it wasn't a problem. There was a broken soap dispenser but I'm guessing host will fix it. Bathroom fan was noisy and overall the neighborhood had some rough surroundings such as trash and tent camps on streets. We were very pleased overall with the host and the place.

We had a great stay! Cynthia was very responsive and helpful before and throughout the stay. We had plenty of information about the house, what was needed from us, and the house was stocked with everything we could need. The location is amazing! Very easy to walk to the beach, and we loved the feature of the warm water shower at the home to clean up before entering.

This was one of my favorite airbnbs! The host has thought of everything and made the stay feel right at home. Their hospitality was so appreciated and their local recommendations were incredibly thorough and spot on. We really enjoyed peaceful morning coffee in the backyard listening to the small stream running under the deck and birds singing, enjoying the many flavors of tea provided, and cooking meals here. They had everything we needed and then some. I can’t recommend this space enough and very close to all nearby towns and attractions. We can’t wait to come back!

We loved our stay at the Bluebird Cottage. The cottage is beautifully maintained and very clean. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful art and collected pieces in each room. Every window had a different view of the trees and foliage surrounding us, creating a serene and private setting. Minie was an amazing host. We received clear instructions, local guides, and amenities that made us feel right at home. Tips for future travelers: -The tandem driveway has a steep rise in the middle, with the potential to scrape the bottom of the car when parking. We parked just below the bump and that was fine. -For cold weather, we found the wall unit by the front door didn’t heat the room much. The wall heaters worked great. For the bedroom wall heater to work the light switch closest to the bedroom closet needs to be turned on.

Another lovely stay at Sabine’s unit. I love the kitchen and being able to resume my routines in that space. Likewise, for sleeping. I sleep well there. It is very quiet at night. The air is fresh. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. It is a family neighborhood with children everywhere! Very safe! I sleep with windows open every night. It is very restful and very quiet. There is no trouble and the community is friendly.

Great central location with lots of places to walk to. I grew up in Castro Valley but haven’t been back in many years. We stayed with our twin 5 year olds and there is a play place that is nearby. Katherine was very communicative and flexible with check in. There was a housekeeping issue and Katherine addressed this issue immediately. We couldn’t get the shower head in the master bath to work correctly but the guest bath shower worked just fine with good pressure. We were disappointed it rained while we were there because we didn’t get to use the backyard. It looked very inviting with the BBQ and fire pit. The dining table was great as we had my senior parents over for dinner and everyone fit comfortably. The home is beautifully decorated

We enjoyed our stay. The place was very comfortable and quiet. I am a clean freak and thought the place was very clean. There is plenty of space to spread out for a longer visit to the area. The off street parking was a plus for us. The area has a lot of interesting restaurants to try.

Being very close to the beach and walking distance to the town center makes this spot so wonderful. We love it here and plan to be back soon! Thanks 🪻

We really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable place, comfortable bed. Lovely location. We had two dinners at Due West Tavern nearby and bought picnic sandwiches at their deli. Had a great lunch at Side Street Cafe in Pt. Reyes Station. Really enjoyed the nearby beaches, especially Drake’s. We hope to go back again soon.

It's absolutely magical space for a peaceful personal retreat. Just amazing surroundings with beautiful views from the house and the yard, park with century-old trees just a few minutes walk away and beautiful walking paths. Something that I really needed for a recovery after a long business trip.

En provided very helpful instructions to unlock and lock the gate. The cottage was private and a good size for two people. Having parking available in the driveway was appreciated!

I couldn't have been more pleased with my stay, and interfacing with Tom. The place was clean, tranquil, and well appointed. Tom was responsive, flexible, and kind. To top it off, their two chickens were the quietest, cutest little beings to be adjacent to and were welcome companions on the property. It was such an oasis, comfortable bed, great desk, and could hear the creek just below the window. Will definitely return.

It’s perfect for a couple looking for a serene place to unwind between exploring San Francisco or for anyone seeking a quiet getaway from the hustle of everyday life. This was my first time staying here, and the location couldn’t be better! It’s within walking distance to everything in Noe Valley, as well as the Castro and Mission neighborhoods. Sebastian is a fantastic host who makes sure you feel completely at home. The space is private and beautifully designed, featuring handcrafted furniture made by Sebastian himself—just incredible! The bathroom is spacious, with an amazing shower, and the kitchenette is well-equipped with everything you might need, making the space feel super livable. I also had some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time! I will definitely be coming back for another stay!
