The place was so perfect. Easy walk to the train station and many 24 hour convince stores near by. There are a lot of lil stairs so don’t have a lot of baggage. The place is so an accommodating with literally everything and more that you could need for a stay including water, beer, and snacks on arrival. Easy and very quick to communicate. Really a wonderful stay.

US31 Yamanote Line Ueno, Japan, famous designer apartment, direct access to Ueno 2 mins, direct access to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, Tokyo, convenience store, eateries

DavidRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The apartment we stayed in was very clean, full of amenities and a very comfortable bed. It was perfect for us as a family of 3 with a 2 year old baby. The apartment is stylish, comfortable and modern! What makes this place stand out above every other air bnb we have stayed in was the customer service levels. The host, Aiko is extremely helpful, fast to respond and eager to help and give tips for the area or anything you could possibly need. One stand out item was that we were on our way to the airport and had forgotten our iPad. Aiko contacted us immediately to say she found it and when our driver refused to turn around, she told us not to worry and actually drove over an hour to the airport, offering absolutely amazing service levels and a kindness we have not seen before from any host. We highly recommend this air bnb! You will be in safe hands and stay in a beautiful apartment, you couldn’t ask for more!

SHIBUYA Queen Bed Bright Room

EmmaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This is a perfectly curated Airbnb. I have stayed in a dozen Airbnbs across North America, Europe, and Asia, and this is one of the best. Every amenity you need and more is available, including a two-in-one washing and drying machine. It is spacious for Tokyo. It has a nice balcony with a table and chairs, and you can see a tiny bit of Mt. Fuji in the distance when there is no fog. It is walking distance from Shibuya Station (10 minutes). Moko gave great restaurant and café recommendations in Shibuya (we tried 3 of them). Moko's husband picked us up from Shibuya Station and walked us to the Airbnb. It was much appreciated to not have to deal with Google Maps after a 12-hour flight. Moko was very responsive. There is a 7-Eleven 200 meters away. The price is outside my usual range, but I am glad I chose this Airbnb. I highly recommend to book this Airbnb if it fits your budget.

i came here for our 3rd anniversary trip with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved this place!! we highly recommend it for its awesome location right next to a 7/11 for late night munchies and lots of other good bakeries and restaurants. it’s also a super short walk to the train station and it’s a quick trip to central tokyo via the express train. the place was spotless and beautiful. one of my favorite spots is in that little nook above the entrance that i’ll miss so much along with the massive windows. the hosts are super sweet and kind and made our stay till the very end extremely easy and enjoyable. my most memorable stay so far!

Clean, quiet, and very well appointed home. It was obvious the host took great care to try and think of every detail to make this a comfortable stay. He was exceptionally responsive and also helped me with some of my trip plans when I asked. It was greatly appreciated! It is not close to the center of the city, which wasn’t always convenient but I would not have wanted to stay in the heart of bustling Shibuya, so it really comes down to preference.

Zen Studio 2pax/ 10min TokyoTower&Shimbashi/ 21sqm

KengRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved staying at Shimbashi West Section L! Concierge was extremely warm and welcoming. Check-in and check-out was extremely smooth and easy. We loved the entire vibe of this place! The lounge was comfortable and had a tea, coffee and soft drink station with some snacks that you could help yourselves with. We arrived Wed and they have happy hour where they featured a few drinks for self serve. The overall room was thoughtfully designed and had storage under the bed. There's a bench, table and chair for you to sit and have meals. The room was furnished with appliances and their app had instructions. There were 2 ac units. The water pressure was great. The toilet & shower was a bit larger and there was counter space for stuff. In the halls, we could hear families with kids - the rooms were soundproof very well. We tried the sauna which was a great way to wind down and relax. I'd highly recommend staying here, it's clean, thoughtfully designed and made us feel right at home!

NEW! Breathtaking Tokyo Tower view-Roppongi nearby

DeniseRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The apartment is very spacious and clean! There is lots of closet space and places to lay out luggage without ever feeling cramped. The view from the bedroom window is spectacular at night, just a beautiful view of the Tokyo Tower. The appliances worked great especially the on-demand water heater, the super auto heat function on the microwave and the Dyson hair dryer! The shower room heater/room dryer dried our clothes and the room super fast. Walkable to a convenient store, grocery store, and good restaurants. The neighborhood is truly silent at night yet convenient to multiple train lines. Excellent stay❣️

We had a wonderful stay at Kei’s place. The apartment was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and perfectly located just a short, easy walk to multiple train stations, which made getting around incredibly convenient for our family. What truly stood out, though, was Kei’s kindness and understanding. One of our children became sick during our stay, and despite our efforts, we later realized we had missed part of the clean-up. Kei handled the situation with grace and compassion, for which we are deeply grateful. This is not only a great place to stay because of its cleanliness and location, but because you’ll be hosted by someone who truly cares. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

KatRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
It was a wonderful stay at Kei’s place. I was intimidated at first because after research it said that it’s an hour, at least, to and from major spots like Shibuya, which is nearly accurate, but that’s just how many places there are. The downside is if you want to stay past midnight, transportation can be tricky with some lines stopping after 12mn. Also, the only other challenge is the headroom. My husband is 6’4” and he found himself hitting his head many times, so this is something to think about when booking. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful area that is within walking distance to groceries and many nice restaurants by the train station. It is also very quiet and peaceful.

We had a wonderful stay at Chie’s place. The apartment was lovely, clean, and in a peaceful area—perfect for a relaxing break. Chie and her husband were incredibly kind and responsive, always quick to reply and happy to help with any questions we had, even those not directly related to our stay. They gave great local recommendations and were very helpful when we were checking out. The beds were super comfy—definitely the highlight of the house! We’d love to stay here again in the future.

This place was great! The host was nice although I never got to meet her in person. This is my first trip to Japan and this place was perfect! the Nishi-Megome station was nearby, although walking there with luggage would be a bit rough, but it is only 15 minutes. it also makes it easy to get anywhere from there. Loved it! Would definitely come back if it was available!

#1A Nostalgic house & daily life /3BR

TaraRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
I did a lot of research when booking a place for our stay in Tokyo. I wanted somewhere centrally located, a neighborhood with easily accessible restaurants and shops yet not too busy, and a place where my son and daughter could each have their own room—and two showers/toilets. I found ALL of these things at this place. We loved the Takadanobaba area, and found travel to all of the neighborhoods we wanted to visit to be very easy. The place was clean, beds were comfortable and water pressure was awesome in showers. The washing machine was easy to use and detergent was provided, there isn’t a dryer and clothes took several days to dry in rainy season but there are lots of hangers and also a laundromat down the street. Shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, umbrellas, slippers and iron were provided. We loved the Big Box store next to Takadanobaba station for coffee/baked goods for breakfast and shopping on second floor! Such a wonderful place to stay.

Your guide to Tokyo

All About Tokyo

As world cities go, Japan’s capital is exceptionally captivating in its magnitude and manifold points of interest. As the planet’s most populous metropolis, Tokyo offers world-class dining, endless shopping, a myriad of attractions, and dozens of landmarks. While Shibuya Crossing flickers with foot traffic and large video screens to showcase the city’s modern buzz, Tokyo’s many green spaces provide a serene contrast, especially at Shinjuku Gyo-en National Garden, a 144-acre park overflowing with verdant lawns, flowers, and over 1,500 cherry trees.

A trove of museums provide travelers windows into Japanese history, art, architecture, food, and culture. Explore the collection of scale models of historic Tokyo in the Edo Tokyo Museum and enjoy the unique trappings of the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum, celebrating Japan’s national dish. Sushi bars, theme parks, cutting-edge fashion boutiques, and more await in this multifarious megalopolis, providing a perfect homebase and lots of options for your Tokyo rental.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Tokyo

While there’s never a bad time to visit Tokyo, an ideal time to visit is in the early spring or the fall. The climate is more temperate during the equinoxes, as opposed to the middle of summer, which can be hot and humid — as high as 88 degrees Fahrenheit. The colorful red and orange foliage peaks in mid November and offers a serene atmosphere in autumn, when many visitors flock to Ueno-koen Park and Yoyogi-koen Park. In the spring, bright reds are replaced with lush pinks when the cherry blossom trees come to life. Blooming season is from mid-late March through early-mid April, though make sure that you check the specific year’s predictions for the exact location you are traveling to prior to your trip to ensure you visit within the best timeframe.

Top things to do in Tokyo

Oedo Antique Market

Explore Japan’s largest outdoor antique market, the Oedo Antique Market, which takes place twice a month in the courtyard of the Tokyo International Forum in the central Tokyo area of Marunouchi. A wide spectrum of vintage clothing, home goods, ceramics, and other odds and ends create an intriguing gathering spot for those looking for a truly unique shopping experience.

Senso-Ji

Experience Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple, the Senso-Ji, located in Asakusa. Seno-Ji occupies the site of the original temple which was established in 645 AD, nearly 1,400 years ago. Between the Kaminarimon (or “Thunder Gate”) and the five-story pagoda within the complex, the majesty of traditional Japanese architecture is on full display. The vicinity of the site maintains the atmosphere of the temple grounds, featuring shops and eateries offering traditional cuisine.

Tokyo Skytree

Enjoy panoramic views of Tokyo from atop the glass-walled observation deck of the Tokyo Skytree, the tallest structure in Tokyo and second tallest in the world at 2,080 feet. Combining neo-futurist and traditional design elements, the structure is also magnificent to view from the ground as well. At night, LEDs light up the outer latticework of the tower to create an unforgettable visual experience.
