Hilltop Haven 🌅 view & hot tub

MoniqueRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We chose this cottage for our former college roommates' 3-day getaway. It was exactly what we needed. Beautiful views, a hot tub, comfortable beds, and great amenities. Bright, cheerful, clean, and the wallpaper was fun. Lovely view off the back deck. David had many recommendations for food and things to do. The road up to the place was tight, especially in an SUV so we chose to venture out only in daylight. Check-in and check-out were easy. We loved our stay!

Norma was so helpful and kind. We had a unique storage request upon check in and she was so considerate and went beyond our expectations. Her place is SO BEAUTIFUL- even nicer than the pictures. There is a sneaky path the beach too and it’s very close to surf. The third bedroom is a landing bedroom but it worked very well for us and you still have privacy and a lot of natural light in the room. The wifi worked very well in all areas of the house. The house is in a very private area- looking out every window is so peaceful and the house is truly a home. There are many skylights - it’s so magical both in the sun and in the rain!! We stay in a lot of air b nb’s and this was by far our favourite. We stayed for 1 month and loved every moment. We would have extended if we could! We really hope to be back! Thank you Norma!

Moab Adventure ~ V3, 3 Bedroom Townhome + Great Vi

DorothyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This place was great for our family trip to the national parks. The hot tub was a welcome treat, especially because the pool wasn’t filled yet as it was too early in the season. The gas fireplace was lovely, beds were comfy, super clean. It is hard to find if you are arriving in the dark. A bit more specific instructions from owner would be helpful on that. The address is for Spanish Valley Dr, but that’s for the whole development. You actually turn in to the complex on Gemini Bridges Lane. Then pay attention to the order of letters on the buildings.

Tahoe Vacation Time permit #331746

We had a wonderful stay at Lori’s Airbnb! She was very helpful and provided accurate details that made everything smooth from the start. The house was spotless and cozy — it truly felt like home. The kitchen was neat and well-stocked with all the essentials, plus some handy utensils and ingredients that saved us from having to buy small quantities ourselves. It was a thoughtful touch we really appreciated. There was plenty of space for our kids to play, both in the backyard and front yard. They especially loved enjoying the snow from a recent snowfall! The location was perfect — within walking distance to restaurants and local attractions. The neighborhood was peaceful with no disturbances from neighbors. Overall, we felt completely at home and made sure to return the house in the same great condition, even though Lori didn’t require any extra cleaning. We'd definitely love to stay here again!

The unit was the perfect amount of cozy for my partner and our dog. We would stay here again just for the mountain views and closeness to the main part of town. Greg also had snow sleds that we got to use and it made the stay even more memorable! Really made it feel like we could explore Mammoth the right way.

Your guide to Rocky Mountains

Welcome to Rocky Mountains

Stretching more than 3,000 miles from northern Canada to the southwestern United States, the majestic Rocky Mountains are one of the defining landscapes of North America. Formed millions of years ago, these picturesque peaks — which wend across some of the most scenic Western states, are home to alpine tundras, sprawling pine forests, dune-filled desert, lakes, rivers, and ten national parks between Canada and the United States. These ranges are populated by a cavalcade of megafauna, including wolves, grizzly bears, bighorn sheep, and moose.

Humans flock here to revel in the natural beauty and to hike, rock climb, fish, mountain bike, ski, and snowboard. Hike out of the wilderness and you’ll find yourself in striking distance of such vibrant mountain cities as Denver, Jackson, and Bozeman. You can see the Rockies from the vantage point of a pair of skis, a jeep navigating a scenic byway, or the steamy waters of a natural hot spring. If you have the time, why not try them all?

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Rocky Mountains

Winter is for snow sports like skiing, while hiking and river rafting call for spring and summer. The national parks attract large crowds during the summer, so consider visiting them in the shoulder seasons for a more laid-back experience. Temperatures tend to cool off in alpine environments, so pack layers. There are plenty of events set against the dramatic backdrop of the Rockies, especially music festivals like Jazz Aspen Snowmass, every June in Aspen, Colorado, which brings major music acts to the ski mecca, and the Grand Teton Music Festival, held every summer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which celebrates classical music.

Top things to do in Rocky Mountains

Mesa Verde Cliff Dwellings

Few feats of architecture astound quite like these cliffside masterpieces built more than 700 years ago by the Ancestral Puebloans, an ancient Native American people. Located in Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado, you can explore these complex homes — some comprising more than 150 rooms — on ranger guided tours that highlight the archeological wonder of the place.

Yellowstone National Park

In terms of sheer volume of attractions, Yellowstone is tough to beat. This two-million-acre wilderness that straddles Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho includes sights such as the Old Faithful geyser, which rockets a 184-foot plume of hot water into the air about 20 times a day, and the Grand Prismatic Spring, a rainbow-colored thermal pool that owes its hue to naturally occurring bacteria.

Taos, New Mexico

This laid-back town is known for art and wellness. Explore classic adobe architecture here, especially at the Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Native American community that has been continuously inhabited for more than 1,000 years. Visit artists’ homes turned galleries at sites like the Millicent Rogers Museum and the Blumenschein Home and Museum. During the winter, Taos is a relaxing base for ski trips into the local stretch of the Rockies, the Sangre de Cristo Range.
