Vacation rentals with a kayak in Russell

Amazing. Loved Hihi - it was a great base for exploring Northland. Relaxed, and away from the crowds, but close to everything. The house is beautiful, super-close to a great wee beach, and had everything we needed. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Stunning location with a spectacular view. House was comfortable and coped very well with our group of 7, however the upstairs bedrooms need to be shared by a family as access to the bathroom was through the other bedroom. Road up to house very tricky and probably better attempted with a 4 wheel drive. We had a great week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We stayed at Anne’s lovely cottage for three nights and enjoyed every minute of it . The beds are super comfy so we slept like a dream. The location is beautiful. Nicely nestled into the hill over looking the bay and only a short stroll to the beach and a short drive to the other beautiful bays in the area. The cottage has an everything you need and is spotlessly clean. I haven’t relaxed so much in ages. I think the giant bed with the gorgeous view has a lot to do with it . Anne is super lovely too. Perfect for us in every way.

Beautiful tranquil surroundings, host was waiting for us on arrival—kindly made bread and had honey / tea/milk available for use. We had just arrived from overseas, and this was a great place to relax for myself / wife/2 kids. Nearby cafe had great food with a view. Stop in Whangarei for groceries if you’re sticking around for a few days.

Beautiful spot right on Oakura Bay. If you like swimming, playing in the waves and walking on the beach it is the perfect spot. Would be great for families!

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was spotless, clean, tidy and well thought out making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Felt very welcomed and enjoyed our stay… everything you would wish for on a trip away!

We had a wonderful stay at Cooper’s Beach. The views from the deck are incredible and the beautiful beach is just a short walk down the steps. Great BBQ on the deck. The Bach Man, David, offered to provide a high chair for our baby which was much appreciated since we were traveling from the United States. A great find!

Expectations exceeded. Pictures don’t do this gorgeous setting justice. Views of the water from everywhere Open, airy and everything we could have needed to be completely comfortable. Host was a really nice guy and very helpful with everything, suggesting local walks,etc. It was really hard to leave and I look forward very much to returning; it will be worth traveling halfway across the planet for this alone.

Simply the best location. We had beautiful weather so spend the days lying out front hosting family. A step or two to the beach for a swim in the tropical water - high tide the best. House had everything we needed and more . A small/cozy space, plenty enough for drinks and games when the sun goes down. Hosts very helpful, highly recommend.

A fabulous location for winding down for a few nights after much travelling. Lisa’s cottage was very well equipped and a lovely oasis of calm. We really appreciated the flowers, chocolates, fruit, milk etc. and found Lisa’s booklet very informative for recommendations of places to visit, also local restaurants. We had excellent meals at The Plough and Feather, also the Marsden Vineyard, and visited Waitangi, Russell and Kerikeri, which were all relatively close by. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lisa and her cottage.

River Cottage was such a gem! The surroundings were like a jungle, the grounds were beautiful and there was fun activities like board games and kayaks. We were even able to borrow a fishing pole and caught a fish! I enjoyed walking around the farm property and river area. My favorite part was access to a lookout tower off the deck. I made my latte each morning and climbed up there to enjoy it while watching and listening to all the birds. Book this place, it's magical!

Our time at the Shearer’s cottage was absolutely magical. My husband and I stayed with our three children for three nights. We were all utterly delighted when we walked in the door - lots of excited gasps from everyone - the surroundings are gorgeous, the property is thoughtfully appointed and spotlessly clean… far enough from the madding crowd to feel peaceful and secluded, yet still a very convenient drive to Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. Ian and Anna were very friendly and communicative and made us feel totally welcome. Allow time to make the most of this beautiful place. The dawn chorus is glorious! Make sure you opt in for the spa by the river. We really hope we can visit again. Thank you so much Ian and Anna.

This is a very special place - surrounded by stunning bush and loads of bird life, with walks and swimmable beaches close by. The hosts are lovely and I really appreciated their environmentally careful practices. Check out Linda’s stunning art! We’ll be back. ☺️

Lovely villa, very nicely furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Really enjoyed writing a poem on the typewriter! To sit on the verandah, listening to the birds and watching the water is a real treat, whatever the weather, this is a special spot to visit.

The cottage was the perfect place for us! The deck was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the location. The cottage was well equipped and beautifully designed. We loved our stay and a perfect way to enjoy New Zealand. Thank you to our hosts for sharing this piece of paradise!

A delightful quiet rural property away from the rush of traffic on SH 1, yet only moments to go down the drive and rejoin it. Great location for stopping on a North/South trip. Anthony was the consummate host also, the fresh fruit from your trees was added bonus. Yummy. We all loved the massive grove of trees at the rear of the property so many birds to watch. Thank you Anthony and Dianne for sharing this wonderful spot.

Olive Grove Cottage is one of the best airbnbs that we have stayed (trying hard to recall one that was better). The bathroom had loads of bench space for all our things, the bed was so comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed (including a sharp knife - almost a first!). The two cabins (one for bed and ensuite, and the other the kitchen) were connected by a fabulous expansive patio, partly covered with a sail cloth (just right for a bit of shade from the sun). This patio was a great place to relax, have dinner, and enjoy the view - spectacular. Such a lovely private enclave. To top it off, the herb and vegetable garden were available for what we wanted. Lisa is a fabulous host, who made us feel welcome from our very first contact, with a very quick response time. I couldn't recommend Lisa's place more highly.

We stayed here for two nights and were very happy we did. Anna is a lovely host, she showed us around the property and recommended glow Worm Site and Beach Trip (with Kayak- a Must do). We loved the peaceful atmosphere and privacy. If you have the time, stay here, bring food and enjoy time off the Grid in nature!

We absolutely loved staying at Nicole's place- the pictures do not do it justice. Gorgeous spot, lovely little cabin. Plenty of space to relax in, luxe linens and super comfy bed. Excellent coffee, and lots of little thoughtful touches throughout that were very appreciated- We definitely hope to be back - an absolutely incredible night away and one of the best beaches we've ever been to. Magic!

We had a great stay and found the cabin a very relaxing space. It was clean, tidy and the surrounding garden was peaceful. It was also in an excellent location near the beach.
