Monthly Rentals in Rumbling Bald Mountain

The Little Black Cottage is so dang adorable. Mary & Matt put so much thought and care into the decor and amenities. Set in a quiet and very neighborhood about a 5-minute drive from Lake Lure Beach, the location is perfect! Even with all of the ongoing recovery efforts and the lake being drained, the area is still gorgeous. Inside the cottage, you'll find all of the comforts of home. The mattress and pillows were super comfy, I LOVED the room-darkening curtains, and the furnishings all felt very high-end. The neighbors out back were so quiet, we didn't even realize anyone else was there. Our dogs felt right at home and really enjoyed morning walks up the big hill. Wifi is spotty, which is understandable – you're in the mountains, Helene recovery is still underway, and Mary & Matt made sure to disclose that in the listing. We did a lot of reading and drove 8 minutes down the road to Greyhawk for delicious coffee, drinks, and meals (with free wifi!).

Peaceful home tucked away in the woods but close to Lake Lure and Asheville. Great space for a weekend getaway or longer stay. Lots of space with great amenities like Starlink internet, washer/dryer, outdoor fire pit and plenty of porch seating! The neighborhood was not affected by the hurricane; clear road access and no damage nearby. We were still able to hike in the area and go to Lake Lure restaurants 10 minutes down the road that have reopened! We would definitely stay here again
