Monthly Rentals in Rousay

Great place to stay outside main Orkney towns but easy driving distance to everywhere. bistro and bakery onsite. helped organise bike hire on Rousay. hosts really helpful and accommodating of extra requests. warm and cosy at night and stunning daytime weather.

Of 60 or so places we have stayed at Airbnb, this has been the best Airbnb experience we’ve had! Given that this is a special trip (our honeymoon, which we had not mentioned before showing up) we feel very fortunate indeed! Stewart was an absolutely phenomenal host. So thoughtful and kind. But not imposing or ‘ever present’; just enough for a nice chat when we bump into one another out in the garden, and for some wonderful home-baked treats :) Stewart’s advice about getting last-minute tickets to Maeshowe (just a few minutes down the lane) was spot on and was the only reason we were able to visit. The place is really relaxed and quiet, a place to really unwind. It is a perfect base for exploring these wonderful islands, centrally located with all that’s needed just a 10 minute drive or a short bike ride away. We will certainly be back for an anniversary, as this place holds a special place in our hearts.

Lovely place to stay, excellent views across the hillside. Good selection of books and a few games, comfy bed and hot shower. Had a day trip to Egilsay and enjoyed multiple Cairns on Rousay itself. Very relaxing stay.

David’s Pod is in a fantastic location with great views. It is extremely well equipped, clean and we were made very welcome. Westray is a beautiful island with lots to offer. Hope to return. Thanks
