Casa Kalmar was an amazing place to stay in Zipolite. Silvia & Guadalupe were incredibly helpful, making my check in/out seamless and providing excellent hospitality and local recommendations. I stayed in the Surf Room, which felt very private as it was on a lower terrace of the Casa, separating it from the rest of the house's units. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and lounging at the infinity pool in the afternoons was pure bliss. The unit is on the top of a hill, and walking back from the beach does take abit of energy. About a 5-10 walk from the beach, just under half of it climbing a hill path + some stairs. It's in a more quiet side of town, not on main strip, entire area felt incredibly safe even for a solo traveller. Air conditioning and occasional hot water for the shower was amazing, as they can be hard to find luxuries while traveling in Mexico. Wifi in the room was abit hit or miss, but worked fantastic poolside! I would definitely come back to Casa Kalmar.

The location was unbeatable ... right on the beach and Noelia left us a great video such that we found our room on our own at night. We also had some nice conversations with her while there. We did not stay in the room listed here, as that room had a plumbing issue the day before we arrived, but the room we had was great--simple and open air.

I spent 5 days here and the place is beautiful, I even had to stay inside all day and I didn't mind. The view is spectacular and the balcony space with a hammock is wonderful. The bed is very comfortable and I never felt hot, because between the open windows with mosquito nets and the fans you have, it cools down a lot. The kitchen is very basic but has what you need, and having breakfast and dinner on the balcony is an experience that I highly recommend. Although there is noise because the road is nearby, at night and in the morning almost no cars pass by and you can even sleep with the sound of the sea waves. The only thing is that the Airbnb is a bit far from the village if you don't have a car or motorcycle, because you have to walk along the road or go down to the beach first (on roads that are not the best). But other than that, it's a wonderful place to disconnect a little from the stress of life.

We loved our adventure and this part of the world now holds a special place in our hearts. Marie’s spot is recommended if you want to feel the life and culture of Puerto Ángel. This experience was more than any resort could ever offer. So grateful we stayed here.
