Benjamin's place is secluded on the coast of Samana and the experience of staying there was unlike anything I've ever booked on air bnb. I did not fully grasp the scope of his project until I arrived. He built this compound miles away from any accessible road with the support of locals who you will meet during your stay, and they helped us tremendously. We had the best time. Some things to know: - It is not an easy trek to the cabin. Bring food to last a few days. You may be riding on the back of an ATV to get to the trail head, then up a mountain and down again. - If you need anything while you're there, like a boat tour or a re up of food, Ben can help make that happen. He's an incredible host. - If you have a grip on Spanish, this will be all the more fun for you. - There's a pack of dogs (and the sweetest puppy ever!!) chickens, a cat, who will be your companions. Watch out for your shoes. There's so much more to this place than what can be said on here. I hope to return.

Things to know: ACCOMMODATIONS: Natalie runs a bed and breakfast of sorts, there are a handful of rooms that are spacious, have all of the necessary basic amenities, and are surrounded but beautiful grounds and a pool. The pictures do this property no justice LOCATION: The property is in a remote and quiet area. The DR is filled with sights and sounds and this property is tucked away from it all. It makes for a relaxing stay. Bars and restaurants are a short drive away but please be aware driving in the DR is not for the faint of heart. THE HOST: Natalie is absolutely lovely. She has many years of hospitality experience and it shows. She is very accommodating, kind, and always ready to ensure you are getting the most of the most out of your trip. She also tried to build a sense of community among her guests which in my opinion is an added benefit. During our trip we had some bad weather which we enjoyed by playing games and hanging out poolside We will be sure to return!

The stay was very good, we were well cared for, they communicated with us quickly, everything was clean, just like the photos, I recommend it! It is in a good location, it is 5 minutes from the seawall of samaná.
