Beachfront vacation rentals in Playa Langosta

Not much to add beyond the countless rave reviews here. The restorative and serene view and location is obviously the best quality, but the condo itself is comfortable and offers all the comforts of home as well. We loved the empty beach, the sound of the surf, and the cackle of the tropical birds. If you want crowds and traffic jams, head to Tamarindo. If you yearn for quiet and a vintage Costan Rican experience, I recommend without hesitation.

This was by far one of the most beautiful AirBnB's we've every stayed at. It really felt like a mini resort. We had two families, and everyone was able to have their own room and space. Most of our time was spent in the gorgeous pool or in the outdoor kitchen. The pictures are accurate, but everything is more wonderful than the pictures. There is wildlife everywhere - gorgeous birds, geckos, howler monkeys down the street. The pantry off the kitchen protects your food, and we had no problems with bugs (we were told it was the time of year). We did have a couple of friendly birds that begged for food, but they were amusing to watch. The location, though remote, is in a gated community and was very safe. It was only a 10 minute walk to a beach that seemd almost private...not more than a few dozen people at a time on a beach that had to stretch for a mile. Do not hesitate to rent this place!!!

5 Stars – Unforgettable Beachside Retreat! We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful home in Palm Beach Estates! Dirk was an exceptional host—always quick to respond and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The house is just steps from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the ocean anytime. We especially loved the outdoor grill area—it was perfect for cooking up the fresh red snapper we got from the local fish truck. So delicious! The pool was a major highlight for our family. The colorful lights at night made it feel magical, and we spent many evenings playing Marco Polo with our girls—such great memories. The property was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The neighborhood felt safe and peaceful, with great access to local spots and the beach just around the corner. We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a memorable beach getaway!

We stayed here for a group birthday party of 12 adults and it fit our needs perfectly for our mix of couples and singles.
The area of Potrero was exactly what we wanted, not too busy, but with some good restaurants and a close by market for essentials. The house itself is at the end of a quiet street and very peaceful. The elevated pool is a really unique feature and we made good use of it to watch sunsets and generally relax. Marvin the caretaker kept the house very clean, and Alexa our host helped us arrange several excursions, as well as a private chef who cooked the birthday dinner, highly recommend! We did the following excursions: Rio Celeste tour, which included a trip to see sloths in a wildlife preserve; ziplines; a private yoga session on the patio overlooking the ocean; and a tour of a coffee roaster. All were excellent, with great tour guides / hosts, and the whole group loved them. Thank you so much for a great experience

The views and location to the beach are absolutely incredible. This place was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the open air concept. This place made our trip to Costa Rica even better. Highly recommend if you want to get away from the crowds but still be close to everything you need!!

This house is situated on a fantastic, uncrowded beach. It stretches on for long beach walks, the sand is soft, the waves are perfect for boogie boarding, and the water temperature is warm. Each day of our stay we boogied boarded for hours with maybe 15 other people in sight. In the evening there are beautiful sunsets. The outdoor space of the house is great for cooling off in the small pool or relaxing in the hammock. The house is located in a gated community inhabited by tourists, so in order to experience authentic Costa Rican restaurants or culture one must drive to a neighboring town about 15 minutes away. The house itself is as described but be aware no amenities (shampoo) are provided with the exception of small soap discs. The beach itself made our stay wonderful.

Our stay at Jarrod’s place was incredible! Best vacation house you could ask for. Perfect location right on the beach but still super private. Having a swimming pool right on the ocean is about as good as it gets, we usually spend most of our vacation time at the beach but this house was so great we wound up spending more time by the pool. Also the house is stocked very well, everything an Airbnb/rental house should have this house has. Jarrod was very accommodating and helped us with transportation and Covid testing at the house. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Playa Negra area! We will definitely be coming back!

Loved the house and location. Extremely well-equipped kitchen and some refreshments waiting for us in the fridge. RCV arranged a guided tour for us at Rincon de la Vieja National Park for one day (including lunch, zip-lining, and the hot springs & mud baths) that was a lot of fun. Had dinner the first night at Father Rooster's on Ocotal Beach just down the hill from the house. We did a little cooking and used the bbq grill for a couple meals. There were a couple small problems: water was not turned on for one of the showers downstairs, the gas was not turned on for the stove (just had to open the valve on the propane tank on the other side of the wall from the stove), the A/C would trip off in the second bedroom upstairs, and the dishwasher wouldn't operate. RCV sent people promptly to address the issues, but unfortunately the dishwasher needed a new control board and couldn't be fixed during our stay. We would definitely stay in this house again.

Absolute paradise, literally steps from the ocean. Hearing the waves from the patio was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend.

Beautiful cabin with an excellent location overlooking Playa Callejones! There is a nice lookout area and just a short walk down to the beach. The cabin was perfect for our group and is a great spot for a relaxing break. Beatrice was great and communicated all information clearly and responded quickly to help us sort out a small issue. Would definitely visit again!

We really enjoyed our time here. It is right on the beach, which made it so easy and fun traveling with kids.

Awesome place to stay! Beautiful view! A short walk to the beach and some local shops - it is a steep hill, but there are stairs. Staff and other guests were extremely helpful and friendly. There was more than enough room for our family of four. When we needed assistance with an air conditioner, Floribeth was quick to respond, and had a repair person there in no time - problem fixed immediately. We were not planning on returning to Costa Rica, but after our stay, we fell in love with the area and people, and can't wait to return. Floribeth gave us precise directions, found it right away. You will not want to leave here. Thank you Floribeth!!

A very spacious house, in an excellent location. The beach is beautiful and the sunsets are magical. Ideal for families and children. Close to everything, but at the same time very private. I would definitely go back

We stayed in several Airbnb properties during our travels across Costa Rica. This was by far my family’s favorite. We rented the villa with three bedrooms and a kitchen. We learned that this property was previously the Hotel Iguanazul and was bought about ten years ago by a family who are slowly converting it to private villas. Our rental was one of the original four-room hotel buildings. The primary suite and kitchen represent one half of the building. The other half are individual bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Our kids are older, so we were okay that the rooms weren’t centrally connected, but families with small children will want to think about sleeping arrangements here. We were the only renters for the two nights we stayed, and we greatly enjoyed having a resort-style pool for our private use. Sunsets, beach walks, and relaxing in the enclosed (and much calmer) Playa Blanca were all fabulous. We highly recommend this property!

Magical Place Our week in Maria’s home was absolutely magical. Situated at the end of a sandy cove, we had excellent ocean access and amazing privacy. The home was so comfortable, with A/C in the bedrooms and breezy, beautiful living spaces in the rest of the house, deep decks with plenty of seating for meals, and tiny little spots under trees and bushes scattered throughout the ample yard. Our three generation gathering relished the pool, the beach, the yard games, and plenty of board games and art projects throughout the week. Maria’s recommendations for cooks and transportation were excellent. Maria was shockingly responsive…even sending someone over with two bags of ice when the ice-maker was a little slow for our needs. We were blessed with regular sightings of monkeys, lizards, birds, crabs, and dragonflies. We were so lucky to come upon this magical place that fully met all our needs, and exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful property with privately owned villas. The local management company is professional and helpful. You can’t find a better beach location for miles along the Pacific coast. You are steps from the patio to the white sand. Pura vida!

The house & location are amazing, you literally feel like you have your own beach in the middle of paradise, but also all of the conveniences you need like a variety restaurants, grocery store, convenience stores and even a hardware store are only less than a 5 minute drive away. The baby turtle sanctuary is only a 5 minute drive away and we got to see one of my bucket lists, we got to release baby turtles and watch them waddle their way to the ocean! The whole house had a water filter and reverse osmosis water so we were able to have safe and wonderful drinking water the entire trip and saved loads of money just refilling our water w/ regular cheap water bottles that we bought day one some of us brought our Yeti/Stanley cups. The pool is a perfect dip pool for when you get hot, and at low tide, which is everyday. The smooth sandy beach is a dream! We looked at tons of other beachfront properties but this was the only one that actually had a sandy swimmable beach! House is perfect!

We had a wonderful stay! The layout was perfect for us with a fantastic view of the ocean. The kitchen was well appointed as we had inhouse chef for three of our nights. We would stay here again. The condo had all the qualities we were looking for.

We had a wonderful stay at Mono Feliz! The villa had everything we needed to have a relaxing, peaceful stay in Costa Rica. The beach, beach club, shops, restaurants, and town were all in walking distance. After enjoying the day with all the area had to offer, it was especially nice to come back to the villa to dip in the pool. Hosts, Jeff and Gina, were attentive to our needs along with onsite management, Justin. Pura Vida!

We stayed here with another family—10 of us total with kids ranging from 7 to 13—and absolutely loved it! The house was amazing. Everyone had plenty of space to spread out, but the real magic happened in the outdoor area where we all came together to eat, swim, and hang out. The kids would've spent all day in the pool and at the beach. We even got to watch March Madness, which was a huge bonus! The hosts were super communicative and helpful throughout our stay, and Jenny the housekeeper was wonderful—so sweet and welcoming. Her gallo pinto for breakfast was delicious and worth organizing. The only downside was the road leading off the highway into Hacienda Pinilla—definitely the roughest stretch we encountered during our trip across the country. It’s still accessible by 4x4 and even a car, just something to be aware of. Overall, we had an incredible stay and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend for families or groups traveling together!
