Family-friendly vacation rentals in Playa Chiquita

I don’t even know where to begin; I’m so in love 🩷 Mercedes is a 100/100 host! Her apartment is stunning! It is spacious, immaculately clean and located near the most delicious restaurants with only a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Playa Negra. I have had the oppertunity to see iguanas, tucans, beautiful birds and butterflies just feet away from the balcony. Supermarkets are near and the neighborhood is friendly. Mercedes is a pleasure and she takes care of any issues that may occur quickly. I cannot recommend this space enough. It will quickly become your home away from home and you will never want to leave 🥰

Great place to stay and great host!

Jeff’s house is a perfect spot for the Costa Rican jungle experience right outside of the main town. The location right next to the beach was great for our group. We spent every night hanging out on the deck. Jeff himself was accommodating and very kind, he sent us some great places to eat in town. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

This is an incredibly beautiful property and is like a mini-zoo. There are sloths, toucans, frogs, lizards and other animals around you at all times. If you stay for a few days, you’re likely to see more animals here than what you will see in the park. If you like to hike, I would recommend getting a taxi to the Puerto Vargas entrance of the park and walk all the way through the park and right back to the property (about 9 km). Marise was very helpful and a great host. We stayed here with our 3 young children for 10 days and everyone had a wonderful time. It is a very safe and comfortable place - and you have maid service (included in the price) every day!

Stayed here with my son and we had a great time. The place felt huge to us! and the bathroom is AMAZING! Host was great as well and there were lots of special touches throughout the space that made it extra special. Thank you!

Great little wooden cottage, more charming than the pictures! It is bigger than we thought, the beds are of good quality, and the environment is exceptional: the very quiet beach is 2 minutes walk and we can observe a very rich wildlife from the living room (toucans, agoutis...). Super Negro (= large and quality supermarket) a short drive away. We wish we could have stayed longer, it's a real haven of peace ☮️

My stay was exactly what I was looking for! Private, quiet, with great access to the beach front. It was wonderful being able to walk out the front door and be at the beach in less than a minute walking! Tree's home was organized, clean and had everything I needed from beach towels & chairs to all the kitchen amenities needed for home cooking. The space felt very well thought out and relaxing. Loved every minute :)

There were 3 of us and the stay was very nice. The place is very nice, close to everything and very quiet. The garden is very beautiful and you even see some local animals (Toucan, agouti and other birds). Yolanda is super responsive, she answered all my questions very quickly. In short, great place, I'll go back with my eyes closed. Thanks to Roy who is very nice and showed us how to use the washing machine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa de Musa. The location was excellent, less congested than nearby areas and a very short walk to the beach, nearby fish store and recommended Caribbean restaurant. The Casa was well equipped and comfortable and we felt safe and very much at home there. The open air kitchen and outdoor dining/sitting area were a real treat. Mike made sure our check in went smoothly with good communication and directions. We were greeted on arrival and given a quick orientation, then left to enjoy ourselves. We highly recommend Casa de Musa.

It was wonderful to stay here! It was about a 10 minute walk to the beach and far enough from the center of puerto viejo to be quiet and only hear the sounds of the jungle. While there we lost electricity and WiFi a few times but they were always back up quickly and to be expected for the area. We would highly recommend this place to get away from it all!!

We really enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend. Great location! Loved how close it was to downtown Puerto Viejo and easy walking distance to everything. Good communication and appreciated all the provided info for the area from beaches, food, and things to do. Thanks again!

A fairly good accommodation for family vacations, ample space and very good attention as well as fast

Very friendly host, the place is very quiet, clean and close to Cahuita centro. I would definitely come back.

We can’t gush enough about yves’ place! We were a group of 11 with 6 adults and 5 children and yves took such good care of us and was so kind. The kiddos loved the pool and the adults loved the amount of space we all had! The kitchen was well stocked w dishes etc. we mostly used the outdoor kitchen for dinner and the inside kitchen for breakfast. It about a 15m drive to puerto viejo but walkable to the cahuita national park and other beaches/hikes were close. Would definitely stay there again!!!

We traveled with another couple. It was great for each couple to have their own place but also be nearby to one another. It is a beautiful setting, absolutely beautiful. She and her staff took great care of us, providing housekeeping services and arranging for laundry to be done. We were glad to have a car so we could explore the area. If you want a vacation in a beautiful and remote part of Costa Rica, this is where you should stay.

What a great place and a great hostess. Had all the amenities we needed and we made a few meals a home. We stayed a week and Erinn organized a mid week clean, which was great. The place was idyllic with lovely gardens, plenty of hot water and wash facilities. Having separate rooms at the end allowed the teenagers their space too. Finally a great thanks to Erinn, she booked restaurant for us the first night, answered all our questions - got us in touch with an excellent guide Juanito. Was there when we needed and not when we didn't thank you Erinn. We went surfing, snorkeling, trekking to a waterfall for swimming and did a round with the local tribes to learn about their culture and chocolate making. We had a fantastic week. If we ever come back to Costa Rica we will be back here. Andrea

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villas Kasha! The house and property were extremely clean and well maintained. The property is so beautiful and peaceful and was exactly like the pictures. The best part of everyday was sitting outside by the pool enjoying coffee in the morning watching the butterflies, humming birds and agoutis. Tania and Henri gave us very detailed instructions to get to and check into the house, it was a breeze. They were very kind hosts and checked in on us a few times during our stay. When I had questions, Henri answered them promptly and when I mentioned the toaster wasn’t working they got us a new one. The house and area felt very secure and safe and we really felt at home there for our over 2 week stay. I’d highly recommend this property to anyone! The road to the house is quite bumpy and has some hills which was not a problem for us because we had a car but just an FYI for other travelers. Thank you Tania and Henri for your hospitality.
