Cabin hideaway in a rural setting

The cabin is tucked away in the beautiful, unspoilt countryside of west Cornwall, between St Ives and Penzance and close to a choice of idyllic beaches. It has a double bed, plus sofabed, tea/coffeemaking facilities, a small fridge and microwave for your breakfast supplies and a great shower (hand and bath towels are provided). It's in a quiet hamlet with a great pub opposite, The Engine Inn ((URL HIDDEN) which has a great atmosphere, good food and regular live music. My husband Alan and I have lived in this house for over 20 years and raised our three children here in this lovely spot. We're on a B road which has buses to St Ives and Penzance stopping outside every hour, up until about 6pm. It's a fabulous place to stay and an ideal base to explore the moors and unspoilt countryside of West Penwith, not to mention the stunning beaches. We enjoy meeting new people we look forward to having guests come to stay and discovering the area. We are easy going types who are used to having a housefull! We both work; I am an educational home visitor for young disabled children and I also design and make silver and enamelled jewellery. Alan is a plumber and heating engineer. The cabin is opposite our house and you are welcome to use the patio outside the cabin where there is a bench and a picnic table. There is parking available just behind the accommodation. There is a sofabed which could accommodate a child (or two small ones, maybe!). There are tea and coffee making facilities and continental breakfast (cereal, muffins or bagels with jam and marmalade and juice) is provided and there is also a micowave. On a sunny morning it's lovely to sit outside and enjoy the peace and tranquility.... We look forward very much to meeting you!

Such a great experience! The place was spotless and thoughtfully laid out. Even though it’s a small space, it had everything we needed, and it’s clear a lot of care went into making it feel cozy and functional. It was peaceful and super comfortable throughout our stay. Poppy was a wonderful host — so kind, friendly, and easy to communicate with. You can really tell she cares about her guests feeling at home. Would absolutely recommend!

The Cabin is very special. Thank you so much to Isla for the quick as lightening communication and flexibility, and for the warm welcome when I arrived. Finished to top quality standard, The Cabin was cosy and warm, and was exactly when I needed for a few days at the Eden Project. (Only a 6 minute drive.) Loved the goats and the chickens too, Isla even introduced me to them and let me say hello, super friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay, would definitely return next time I need a trip to Cornwall.

Had a really great time in the cabin, basic but really homely. Well equipped, great views, nice secluded location on the moors. Was nice to be warm and toasty in the cabin while the wind and rain howled outside. Would stay again next time we are down that way. Nice and close to Penzance for winter evening activities.

just had lovely couple of nights at the cabin. Kate appeared as soon as we arrived and showed us round - she was friendly and welcoming and, because of the bad weather, had lit the fire for us so - and provided scones cream and jam, as well as tea coffee and sugar. The cabin was beautiful, quirky and cosy, spotlessly clean and very cosy. The immediate surroundings were beautifully maintained, private and secluded and the bad weather meant we were able to make good use of the wood burner! We had a great time and would be very happy to return to the cabin.

We had a great stay in Keith and Marcia's cabin. They were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful both before and during our stay. The cabin is well equipped, clean, as described, and well located. It's a c.15 min walk to Cadgwith Cove and the local pub, has easy access to beautiful walking routes, and it's a short drive to lots of beautiful walks and beaches. We fell in love with the Lizard and will definitely be coming back.

I recently stayed in Sophie's barn and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The property was incredibly quiet and peaceful, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The barn was spotlessly clean, which immediately made it feel welcoming and comfortable. It was stocked with all the essentials one could need for a relaxing stay—bread, eggs, biscuits, teas, coffee, and and more. These thoughtful touches truly made a difference and added a sense of home. What set this stay apart, though, was the unique opportunity to watch the peacocks. Seeing these beautiful birds wander around was such a special treat and added a magical element to the experience. Overall, I’d highly recommend this barn house to anyone looking for a tranquil retreat in the heart of Cornwall. It's perfect for unwinding, recharging, and soaking in nature's beauty!

Cozy Wooden Cabin - Barley Bay

Last minute get away for myself, my son and our dog. The cabin was very easy to find if you follow the sat nav. When we arrived my son thought it was great that we used the wheelbarrow to move our belongings to the cabin. The accomodation was exactly as described cosy, clean and warm. There is an all in one cooker, easy to use for small meals but there is also a portable outdoor BBQ to use. The shower room was modern, clean and plenty big enough. It was a nice touch that we was left some cookies and little dog biscuits. The surroundings are beautiful, with a nice bit of greenery in the middle of the cabins, it would be a lovely family area to play outdoor games on. There is a picnic table on decking outside. We sat outside and looked at all the stars (definitely seen Orions Belt). We walked to Hartland Lighthouse and walked the coastal path, then we went to GCHQ Bude and Davidstow war museum. Renata and Tom was fantastic friendly hosts, very person centered and responsive.
