Willy came across the road to greet us when we arrived. Very friendly and helpful. The views are fantastic and a great spot to stay if you are going on to see the lighthouse, and further. Willy mentioned he saw a Sea Lion the previous day, and by chance we saw one dive just offshore, and arrived on the beach seconds later, which we viewed from the balcony. Highly recommended.

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. My daughters and I had a great stay – the house was so clean and cosy, and it had everything we needed. The smart TV was especially appreciated on the wet days, and the wifi was great for getting a bit of work done while away. We loved the location. It was so handy for our morning coffee runs, walks to the beach, and exploring the nearby reserves. We even managed a day at the beach, which was such a treat. Your home really made our trip to Riverton special. Thanks again.

This is a very nice place! We had a nice quiet evening here after being in busy touristy areas for a while. It’s right on a beautiful beach that we enjoyed walking on. The space itself is very spacious and there are several big glass doors and windows which we loved for all of the natural light. Everything was spotless and we felt right at home. Highly recommended!

Eating out is a little bit of an issue as we only found 1 place “ Aparima” which was nice and good quality food with pleasant outlook. Jess’s place didn’t have cooking facilities/ microwave or kitchen sink (but did have a fridge and toaster )which didn’t cause us any inconvenience but may do for others. On our second night we drove out to Otautau where there is a nice pub with good quality food. A lot of business in Riverton seem to have closed up.

We had a wonderful stay at Jack’s Beach Shack. The accommodation may have been tiny, but Ashlee has made perfect use of the small space. It was equipped with everything we needed and furnished to a very high standard. The shack is so close to the beach we could sit on the deck and watch the waves roll in. This place was the perfect dose of relaxation that we needed after a long day driving and exploring the Catlins. I would definitely recommend staying here!

This was such a wonderful spot to relax and unwind with our family. We enjoyed the beach, playground and hike up shirt tail track. Both the corner cafe and flyer cafe were great. If you don’t want to be I. The craziness of Queenstown but want to make day excursions there from a beautiful and tranquil spot, this is it. Just be prepared, the water is COLD!

Cheryl’s home is absolutely fantastic, the location is unbeatable, right on the beach front. The house is brand new and gorgeous and has everything you need. Beautiful views, comfortable beds, a wonderful kitchen and great outdoor space. Cheryl was so friendly and welcoming and helped us with anything we needed. Highly recommend if you want a fantastic stay on the coast.

What an amazing host. From first to last interaction I felt welcomed and valued. The house is exactly as described, in a perfect location with a restaurant/bar a 2 minute walk away. There's kayaks available to use for a donation towards wear and tear. As shore dwellers we loved looking for special stones. Gemstone beach is 20min drive but another 20min to Blue Cliff beach and you'll find amazing quartz stones, shell fossils. Wakapatu beach had paua and other large shells along the high tide line. Stop at the café in Oreputi for the best cheese & onion scones and great coffee. Loads of nature walks in area. House is peaceful, & we did see Hector's dolphins from the deck, swimming with a kayaker which was awesome.The waves breaking on the rocks literally across the road was soothing to the soul. Beautiful sunrises as well. Strange point of interest is the fork stuck in the power pole/street sign. Great water pressure in shower, weber BBQ, logburner, fresh mussels from sea. Fabulous!

Philippa is an amazing host, super responsive and helpful. Her place was a perfect base to explore lake Wakatipu and the area. The house is super nice with a lot of character. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub very much and Philippa was so nice to explain how to use it. We enjoyed our stay!

Me and friends had the best stay, being right on the beach was exactly what we needed! Had everything we needed, we all loved that it had a fire pit plus beautiful views of the sea! Will definitely come stay again!! Was quite an old place but made it more homely we were outside most the time as the weather really out it on for us! But love an old batch/crib! Thanks again
