TAKIO 3 guesthouse

Makoto picked me up form Higashi Hanazono station in his white Suzuki van. He’s an incredibly friendly and enthusiastic guy, a pleasure to talk to. Upon arrival he explained clearly house protocols and functions and in the evening we chopped up and cooked some Soba dough he had prepared with other guests the previous day, while his wife cooked tempura. In Makoto’s residence I met a bunch of very interesting people quickly becoming friends and spending evenings together as well as exchanging great recommendations. Makoto also grows his own vegetables and if you are eager to help and learn some Japanese ways of growing vegetables as well as a few words he’s your guy. He’s always available to help and explain with an answer to any question. If I ever have the opportunity again to visit this beautiful country I will definitely return to Makoto’s place when in Osaka.

Charming Kyoto Machiya

GavanRating, 5 stars3 days ago
My partner and I absolutely Loved this place! the place does match the description but it really gives it an amazing charm and it felt like a real home. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. We loved getting to know Licia, Luis and some of their volunteers. We were very happy to meet the kitties (they love to play. SO CUTE) and learn more about how their rescue program works as well as how extensive their network is. overall, we had an excellent time and loved every second of our time in maneki machiya (Cozy).
A cozy twin room features two single beds with crisp white linens. Natural light filters through two windows, complemented by inviting views. A wooden table with two chairs adds functionality, while the earthy walls and air conditioning unit enhance comfort and convenience.

It was a quiet, peaceful, and clean accommodation. It's a little far from the city center, but I'm willing to revisit. I had a good stay for 2 nights.

Great stay in a home offering great value for money. The metro station is 2 minutes away, the area is full of restaurants and has a large supermarket. The accommodation is typically Japanese which is nice for a tourist who wants to discover the culture of the country and finally I really liked the rooftop terrace.

MODERN CLASSIC TOWN HOUSE KYOTO

This is a quaint little Japanese style home that is perfect for a couple wanting a a great location to base in whilst in Kyoto. It is about 6 mins walk to Nijo Station where there is access to buses, trains and subway and only 3 stops from Kyoto station. Lovely quiet neighbourhood with everything we needed at our fingertips. The futon beds were very comfortable. Yukiko was very helpful throughout our booking and quick to respond to any questions.

Traditional Japanese House Tea Garden Room

Located two metro stops from Kyoto Station, this B&B offers all the charms one has to expect from Japan's former imperial capital. The hosts are responsive and we particularly appreciated the recommendation of a craft market, which was held in a temple, during our stay.
