Pet-friendly vacation rentals in New Plymouth District

Melissa honestly is the best host I’ve come across on Airbnb (and I’ve stayed at a few places). She was responsive, helpful and even left us goodies in the fridge :) The house was perfect for our needs as we worked at an event in the Bowl of Brooklands. Beds are firm, bathroom was clean and tidy and kitchen had most of the things we needed. Thank you for having us Melissa x

Highly recommended this beautiful cottage. Close to town, the coastal walkway and was everything we needed for our stay. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, and Deb is really helpful and responsive. We really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Zoe and Tyler were great hosts! They took our booking last minute and were super accomodating! The house was in a nice neighbourhood and easy to get to the city and the beach, and with plenty of beds to sleep so many people. Check in is super easy, and the shower pressure in the bathroom is unreal. The kitchen is newly renovated, but the rest of the house is a little dated, which I didn't fully pick up on from the pictures, and the place maybe needed a quick vacuum but we did book last minute so totally fair. Thanks so much for having us Tyler and Zoe!

Beautiful and simple place with everything you need! Awesome that the fur babies are welcomed and pretty secure location for them. House is right by the main road so some road noise (trucks etc) but not a lot at night. Great communication from Peter and the place had pretty much everything you need. Deck was awesome to chill on - we brought our own sun brolly so could chill out there all day. Beach isn’t far (Onaero was our choice as not as busy and dog friendly). Beautiful ngahere hikoi next door to the bach, which was neat for our son to find the ‘treasures’ along the pathway. Great stay!

This is a very nice Airbnb and we enjoyed our stay.

Really nice place. Lots of space and very clean. It was easy to check in and a short drive to the center of town. Lots of nice welcome bits on arrival. Very quiet and the bedrooms were nice and dark at night. We overslept on the last day... Great place for a couple of couples or family.

Great stay, the atmosphere was great.. and it was great to wake up and go outside! Loved our stay.

This was a great place for our stay: perfect location, on the main road; close to the pub, bottle store and an excellent burger joint. The hosts were great - easy to contact when checking in, available when we had a request and they gave us divine, homegrown tomatoes. Would love to stay there again.

Had very great communication with John and Brichelle. Their property was a great stay for my mates and I. Even though it was for one night, we felt comfortable and had a good time.

The walking group, comprising 12 women, had the most amazing three days at Sophie’s. It was everything, and more, we’d hoped for. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay. Each bedroom has an ensuite. Lounge and kitchen very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay with family. Lots of space for everyone. Very large deck that felt very safe for the children. Food at the restaurant was lovely. They also did room service which was wonderful. The ‘second living area’ in the photos was no where to be seen. Not sure if that photo has been posted by mistake 🤷🏼‍♀️ We also weren’t aware this property is actually part of a motel/lodge so when we arrived we weren’t sure where we were. It worked out really well though and everyone was great. The pool in the photos is part of the complex so it was quite busy at some points. The only thing that would have made it better was if there was a vacuum cleaner in the room as this is not a serviced apartment and we had booked for 5 nights with children so we really could have used a vacuum 😅 Would definitely recommend this place to others. Really private with amazing views.

Great place to stay, with large, comfortable beds. Pet-friendly, with fully fenced section. Garden is beautiful and house is situated right next to Te Henui walkway to the sea. Local Orangery restaurant at the nearby Plymouth has delicious food. Kitchen, bathrooms, and linen are very clean - but the house is tired. We still loved it :)

The apartment was excellent for our family of 3 generation's, great beds, good sized bedrooms and lots of bathrooms to accommodate 8 people easily. The apartment was bigger than I was expecting and the location was excellent with easy access to the waterfront with a skate park, basketball court, and bar area by the walking path and beach, all within mins of walking from the apartment. Having the apartment part of the lodge accommodation meant the guests who wanted restaurant breakfast or dinner could while others used the bbq and kitchen at the apartment. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, definitely recommend this as a holiday option and will stay here again.

More than we expected! This place is huge and an amazing set up. Super close to everything too - we had a car with us but walked to the groceries, take aways, to the coastal walkway etc. would love to head back for another holiday!

Our only disappointment with this stay is they we weren't there longer. We arrived late in the evening and were gone the following morning and really missed not being able to use the house a bit more as it had everything and is very cool. From all the Airbnb's I've stayed at, I've never until now given a full 5-star rating - this property is worth it.

Spacious place for our group of 8. David and Sheryl are very quick in reply our message. They have two nice, beautiful cats who love to visit us. I would give David and Sheryl perfect 5 stars if they provide a better hair drier and few more cooking pots as we love to cook at home. If we have a chance to come back to New Plymouth, I would stay there again. Thank you for hosting us David and Sheryl. Hoat and the Co.

Caleb was easy to communicate with. Easy instructions of how to get in and it was clean. Great to have the use of a washing machine and drier too. It was expensive for two adults (over 400 per night) but Te Matatini was on and very limited accommodation. I am sure he will put it down for just a regular stay.

Back yard area was great with a couple of kids as a space to relax as a family. Convenient location, communication was excellent.

We absolutely loved our time at Evan’s place. He was a great host, super friendly and helpful. He was kind enough to take us on his trap walk (took him a bit longer than it would have usually) and we really appreciated that. Stunning bush and magical views. The farm was great for daily walks and exploring. We loved seeing and talking to the cows and giving lots of pats to George the super friendly ram. This is a place we would definitely consider returning to. Thanks heaps Evan.
