Farmstay vacation rentals in Nelson County

The cottage was clean and cozy. It is easy to get to and quiet. We enjoyed our stay convenient to nearby amenities. Hosts were responsive and helpful and the house had everything we needed!

Our friend squad (3 couples) loved our stay at this adorable home! Sarah was easy to communicate with and super responsive! The house had everything we needed and was VERY clean on arrival. Having bathroom and kitchen "necessities" provided was a nice bonus. This house is located directly on the Nelson 151 Trail so it is super convenient to wineries, breweries and restaurants. Our weather was not cooperative so we didn't get to enjoy the lovely firepit out back with the nice views. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

This was a perfect two night getaway with our family. The house is very clean. The views are beautiful. There are lots of things to do in the area not far from the house. We enjoyed taking the short path to the brewery for a couple of meals. The food is great! We sat by the fire and soaked in the hot tub. Martha’s instructions were very easy to follow to check in and checkout. She was very responsive. We appreciate that she also offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area. We loved our stay at this cabin! It offered total privacy, making it feel like our own little hideaway in nature. The surroundings were stunning—peaceful woods, fresh air, and gorgeous views all around. Inside, the cabin was cozy and thoughtfully furnished for comfort. We enjoyed walking down to see the waterfall on the lower field. The a/c was refreshing for what turned out to be a summer-like Easter. A perfect escape for a long weekend!

We loved staying here! The grounds are beautiful, the yurt is rustic and lovely, and the hosts are communicative and friendly. It was such a joy to wake up surrounded by serene woods and greeted by the professional welcome squad (Felix the Cat!). Mary and Dave are excellent hosts and are so generous to share their gorgeous property. We can’t wait to stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Deanie’s place. It was beautiful. It was comfortable. Everything was clean and neat. The kitchen was fully stocked. The beds and linens were super comfortable. We also enjoyed the pool, the view and the people! Everyone was just wonderful. I highly recommend!!!!! Also, don’t forget to get on the list for breakfast. We were only there two mornings, but the food was very good and my family is still talking about it. I hope to return there again in the near future.

Would definiely recommend Laura's place for a mountain getaway in an authentic vintage but spacious cabin. Loved the back deck and preponderance of spring blooms. It's located on a busy byway but parking and unloading is on a driveway and easy. You can see mountain peaks and rolling hills in every direction. We had everything we needed. Bathroom was very pretty with a rainfall showerhead.

We loved our stay! I traveled here with a group of 14 for a bachelorette party, and we rented both houses, had plenty of space with comfortable beds and lots of full bathrooms. Sarah and Daniel were very responsive and had great recommendations for our winery visits. I would definitely book their place again!

Wonderful stay in a well appointed and cozy but not small Airbnb. Pleasant decor and furnishings. They really thought of EVERYTHING to include down to flashlights and travel coffee mugs (and more). Their guidebook was super helpful and Carolyn even helped me understand if grocery stores would be open on Easter Sunday, our arrival date. The king mattress was super comfortable. Great location, nearby so many attractions. We would happily stay there again.

Kathryn was a wonderful host and made our stay very comfortable. We had a great time and truly appreciated the thoughtful hospitality. She was kind enough to allow an early check-in, which was a big help for our schedule. The detailed guide provided was super handy and made settling in easy. Our kids had a wonderful time, especially with the toys available. When we noticed a missing battery in the remote, Kathryn responded immediately and resolved it right away. We did have a hiccup with the AC not working one evening, but she was incredibly apologetic, communicated openly, and even issued a partial refund without us asking. We really appreciated the honesty and care. The house was well-equipped with everything we could need, from toiletries and kitchen utensils to camping chairs and kids’ toys. The attention to detail made our stay comfortable and hassle-free. Overall, a very communicative and easy-to-work-with host. We’d happily stay again.

Majestic location and great place to unplug from distractions and unwind. Peaceful and relaxing amenities, lots of interesting health, spiritual, fitness literature available in this space. The stars were sooooo visible and beautiful. Great sunrise & sunset, cool seeing the lit train go by at night. It is very windy atop this hill, with a great view of the river below. There is also a way down to the riverbed at the base of the driveway, maybe a quarter mile further down. The pictures haven’t been updated since new bed spreads & some rearrangements. There was tea kettle with lots of tea options, spices and seasonings available, meditation room, and the waterfall/jet shower was amazing. Very available and communicative host. Good wifi. There are meditation retreat/activities locally, that we wish to explore on our next trip here. Thank you and enjoy!!

We absolutely loved our stay for a family Christmas trip! The house was perfect!! It had a great amount of space to fit everyone. The bathrooms especially were so nice and it was great that everyone has their own. We loved the property with the fire pit and stream. It was so close to skiing, wineries, and restaurants. We had such a great time and definitely recommend staying here!

This home was an ideal meeting place for a girls trip with us being from different parts of the state! The home exceeded our expectations, was very comfortable, and had plenty of beautiful outdoor space as well. It was close to things we wanted to do in Waynesboro, Charlottesville, and everywhere in between! Highly recommend!

Fran was an exceptional host, and the yurt was such a fun way to ring in the New Year. I won't mince words: it was chilly, but the buddy heater was a welcome amenity, and the bed was beyond comfy and piled high with blankets. The bathhouse 250 steps away was terrific, but by far and away my favorite perk was the en suite--the composting toilet around the corner on the deck, something I didn't know about until I arrived! Fran thinks of everything, and, given I was starving on arrival, the freshly baked bread was such a welcome treat. If you're a beer drinker, don't miss Blue Mountain Barrel House & Smokin' Barrel Restaurant. Thank you, Fran!

Loved our work retreat at Bobbi’s place. Nearby goats were fun & friendly neighbors noting our comings & goings. The kitchen was well appointed with stainless steel pots and an induction stove. Ahhh, the hot tub and ping pong table: perfect amenities we turned to for winding down after intensive work. Stunning begonia (a REAL one) @ the front door welcomed us in beautifully! And Bobbi is a caring host! He responds lickety split to messages and went beyond the call to contact animal control when a guest’s boot mysteriously disappeared from the porch. Thanks, Bobbi!

This spot is an absolute oasis!! My team and I enjoyed every fire around the pit, every cigar in the clear mountain air, and even got to witness freshly born lambs. You set a high bar for those trying to create a peaceful getaway! Great job and good luck!!

This place is incredible! Stunning property and home. The charm of the house is lovely and it was the perfect place to gather with my friend group. For years we’ve done an annual “Friendsgiving” where we rent a place in the mountains. This home accommodated the kids and our large group. The kitchen was FULLY stocked like we didn’t need to bring any cookware for our Friendsgiving meal. I was super impressed! We all cannot wait to visit again, preferably in the summer months so we can try out the pool and all the fun games in the barn.

We had the best girls weekend at the farm with the pups! The home was beautiful and extremely clean and welcoming. The weather was too wet and rainy to enjoy the outdoor firepit area, but it was all set up for a cozy little bonfire had we been able to! Will definitely look to come back to explore more of the area and go on other hikes we didn't get to while there. The morning visits from the farm pups also made our days! A must stay!

We loved our recent stay at Ramsey Estate Farmhouse. The setting was spectacular and could not be beat. We were in town for a girls weekend and planned to visit some local wineries, breweries, do some shopping and of course enjoy the fabulous restaurants of nearby Charlottesville. We each had our own room in the farmhouse, which was clean, very comfortable and so relaxing. The bathrooms were all updated. The grounds of Ramsey Estate were beautiful and well maintained. We enjoyed walking around visiting the cows and chickens on the property. Any questions we had were quickly answered and recommendations provided when requested. A very quick and easy drive to many vineyards, breweries, parks for hiking and into Charlottesville. Overall, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend.

Excellent stay! Exactly as pictured. Beautiful views and nicely decorated, updated and comfy condo. I’m sure it’s great during ski season but so peaceful and restful in off season. Responsive host. Highly recommend this spot!

This house was perfect for our family of 5. It was extremely clean. The backyard is huge and it’s on a great road for a family walk. The kids loved seeing the horses down the road. It's close to everything! Hosts were very helpful-
