Lake house vacation rentals in Nantahala Lake

This was such a sweet stay and we wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful location - my husband enjoyed fly fishing during the day on the water and I was only 20 minutes from kayaking at the NOC. The house was very clean - tidy bathroom and kitchen with all your basics stocked to get you started. Hot tub was lovely and very clean! There is a steeper drop off next to the outside firepit so I would be mindful with little children. Easy check in and they were very flexible and responsive when we had some crazy weather pop up nearby. We will be back again and hopefully stay a little longer!

great stay right on the lake!! had everything we needed. kitchen equipped with enough to make our thanksgiving dinner. beds were comfy. she even asked if we wanted it decorated for Christmas.🎄 close to some beautiful hiking trails/falls. kids wanna go back for summer! raechel was always quick to reply and helpful with anything

The house is on a quiet cove of the lake, and the views from the house are spectacular in the Spring. We enjoyed kayaking and looking at the stars from the dock. I'd love to go back in the summer when we can enjoy jumping in the water and floating all day on the lake. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook with a brand new grill.

Everything about this house was absolutely wonderful! We had a stroke of bad luck passing around stomach flu which one of our kids brought home from school right before our trip, so we ended up staying in a couple of days. All the board games, ping pong, air hockey, ring toss and magnet darts made our stay so much better! Once we were able to get out, kayaking was a blast! What a great little spot. Very reasonably priced for everything offered!

Great location and very peaceful. Extremely clean and well stocked. We stayed in the winter, so the lake was low, but we knew that going in. Parking and stairs down to the door can be a little trickey, especially at night. As others have said, dont bring a boat to the property but take it to a marina. There is limited ability to turn around. Would certainly stay again.

This vacation involved checking out the area for an upcoming wedding. For the house, we wanted lots of space in the house and easy parking, bathrooms for each family group, family space to hang out, easy walking, and of course access to the lake. All of these happened plus great porch space with the firepit and also the outdoor firepit. The stairs to the lake provided a work out and planning for the day. That is the only consideration for others to be aware of, is if they have a family member that has issues with stairs. The area is beautiful and exactly what we hoped for and this home with the easy contact for any issues or questions made it a great week!

David is the first host that was answering questions before they were asked. He had great recommendations and when we thought we had a little problem with the oven, he was willing to call someone on a Sunday to fix it but instead, he trouble the problem and my husband was able to get the oven working by simply unplugging and plugging it back in a few times due to a power surge. We were able to use the oven the rest of the stay and everything else was perfect. The kitchen is easy to cook in if you like to cook and they have everything you need to do So.

Beautiful, peaceful place overlooking Lake Santeelah. We enjoyed it very much. This was our second time at Little Hickory and loved it even more. Michelle and Kirk are great hosts and very accommodating. Can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful & peaceful location. The house was lovely, kitchen well stocked with kitchen items, gadgets. Big beautiful windows to see out to the lake; and both bedrooms w/ lake views. Beautiful house! Lovely porch & dock, where we spent all our time.

We loved staying here! The house has everything one would need for a relaxing stay. My kids loved fishing from the dock, the legos, and puzzles- so much to do that screens were not even missed!

This was the perfect place for us and our dogs to stay while visiting family :) 10/10 recommend :)

Great little sleep spot for some hikers coming thru town trying to finish the AT. We were able to walk across the street and eat dinner. Clean room, comfortable bed, clean shower and restroom. One in our group travels with a noise machine which proved to be helpful as the noise from the highway the motel faces can be a little loud. Felt very safe.

We had an amazing stay at Robert’s home. Everything was perfect in terms of cleanliness and the location itself was very peaceful. Robert was an excellent host and made sure we were taken care of at all times as well. I’d definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking to visit the Cherokee area.

We loved our stay at Blackberry Cottage! So quiet and peaceful. Easy access to tons of hiking and outdoor activities. Made traveling with our fur babies easy and enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed with a group of friends for our yearly trip and the house was exactly as described. We brought up to car trailers with other cars and had plenty of room. Close to town and a fun drive to tail of the dragon. Perfect house for a mountain getaway with friends. Would definitely book again!

The house is beautiful, very cozy, quiet neighborhood. It is minutes from the supermarket and less than 40 minutes from Helen (a beautiful town). But the house needs a good cleaning. The kitchen is very well equipped and that was a very positive point. We had a problem with the shower in the bathroom in the basement which was broken, and because it was Christmas they couldn't get anyone to fix it, but we were family so it didn't cause any inconvenience. The barbecue was not clean.

We stayed at Sharon’s for a very special family reunion and this place was a perfect setting! Quiet, peaceful and beautifully decorated. Everyone felt at home. Much appreciation for the ease of communication, professionalism and friendliness.

The place was beautiful and the scenery was magnificent. Only complaint was the drive up the mountain was a mile and a half on a gravel drive. But to get the views I guess you have to be adventurous. Gene was always willing and available to answer any and all questions and to make sure our needs were met. The location was only 15 to 20 minutes to get to Cherokee or Bryson City after you came down the gravel drive which was great. Also the town of Whittier was a cute little town that the river ran through and made for good fishing and cooling off from the heatwave that came through while we were there. All in all we were pleased with our stay and Gene made sure our needs were met.

Tim's place is gorgeous and very well designed, really appreciated every bedroom feeling like a master bedroom and each being on its own floor. Common areas were well thought out as well, large wraparound deck was fantastic day and night. Everything was clean and new, the place is remote and can be a little hard to find, google maps worked while apple maps and waze both routed me to the wrong place. The last stretch of road doesn't appear on any GPS so if you're trying to find it at night it can be a bit precarious.
