Cottage vacation rentals in Mount Desert Island

Really enjoyed our stay here. The views were lovely, the lake was refreshing, the beds were comfortable, lots of kitchen stuff, and the showers were hot. The house mostly has what you need. It could use a few more dish towels and bath towels. The long drive to Acadia got tiresome.

We were very impressed with how well equipped and stocked this Airbnb was. Anything you could possibly need or wany was well stocked and clearly labeled. If you forgot any necessities for your vacation, it was already here. Incredibly considerate and thorough hosts. 10 outta 10, would stay again.

We enjoyed our weekend away at Mayya’s guest house! It was the perfect size for the two of us and we felt there were more than enough amenities to ensure our stay was cozy and peaceful! The add on of the hot tub was much needed and appreciated as well as it was getting chillier at night and it was the perfect addition! I would have liked to take advantage of the walking trail but the weather was rainy so we didn’t get to. We would definitely stay here again for a couple days and thank you Mayya for being a great host!

Peaceful Maine beach cottage with walkable access to a private beach. About an hour from Acadia and Bar Habror. Plenty of space, all the necessary amenties and then some, at this quaint property. We had a great time and the host is friendly and responsive.

The lawn cottage was perfect for our family (2 adults, 1 child and 1 medium sized dog). The cottage was very comfortable and has a stunning view. The larger property it's on was very dog friendly. The pool and hot tub in the hotel were very clean and fun. The kitchen had everything we needed to make full meals (Thanksgiving dinner!). Overall, this is an excellent place for a vacation, especially with a pet and a child.

This was our second time staying here, my family and I love the tranquility of this little piece of heaven. Christopher’s home was beautiful, clean and well maintained.

This spot was in close proximity to Acadia National Park. There is a grocery store nearby and other spots within driving distance. The accommodations were very thoughtful and creative. There were smore kits, spare tissue boxes, and entertainment options such as video games and television in the main home. This is a small, yet larger than life stay.

Fantastic spot. The cabin is so well equipped and squeaky clean. Maggie has thought of everything! Walkable to town in minutes and private. There are even glimpses of the sparkling ocean. 5 stars!

Our stay at this charming cottage in rural Maine was absolutely delightful! The ocean view from the deck was breathtaking, and the setting was peaceful and serene. Fabiola was incredibly friendly and responsive, striking the perfect balance between being hospitable and respecting our privacy. She even invited us for a wonderful evening at her home, which made our experience even more special. The cottage itself was quaint, with beautiful decor and a cozy, inviting aesthetic. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and the clear instructions made everything easy. The fully fenced-in yard was perfect for our miniature poodle, who had the best time exploring and meeting Otto. The surrounding area was stunning, with plenty to see and do, and the host's restaurant and activity recommendations were spot-on. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Can’t say enough about Craig’s beautiful lakeside cottage. If you like remote, peaceful and being close to nature this is for you. The house and contents seemed brand new and they had thought of everything we could want, right down to pancake mix, maple syrup and Maine blueberries for our breakfasts. An easy drive to Acadia. Craig was communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and hope we’ll be back.

Believe the reviews! If you get a chance to rent here in the fall (or any time) you won’t regret it. I wish I could’ve stayed and read all of the cool books. Perfect space to gather but also have your own little corner if needed. Plus - the views are unlike any I’ve experienced at an AirBNB. Truly beautiful at any time of day. Plus our dog loved running around in the fenced in yard. We can’t wait to go back!

Cute little cabin in the woods!! Super clean, check in was very easy. Nichole was very easy to communicate with. The cabin was perfect for a quick weekend. We would definitely stay again!

Katy’s seaside cottage was the perfect get away. The cottage is quaint, decorated with vintage furniture, pastel fabrics and touches of nature. The sunsets are spectacular. Just perfect for a relaxing trip. It was home base for our visits to Acadia- although a bit of a drive, the foliage and weather made the drive worth it. We highly recommend Katy’s Seaside Cottage. Super clean, cozy, heat when needed, dog friendly cabin, with a sweet porch with some good walks. Small kitchen area, super clean with any thing needed for simple meals; fridge, microwave, toaster oven. Clean, pet friendly, fairly priced. Great location, just about 10 minute drive to Acadia National Park entry, and 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor. Ken was great, friendly and helpful. Thank you!!

Very nice and clean property with all the commodities required for an extended stay. Conveniently located between Belfast and Camden that are only a few miles away, a nice find.

Excellent vibes at this place. Genuinely stunning views, especially at sunrise/sunset, and the house was perfect for hanging out after a day of hiking at Acadia. The place was slightly farther from the hikes we wanted to do than we thought, but the drive was beautiful so who cares. I would definitely recommend downloading your directions to the house before you lose service. The beds were super comfy and the place was clean. Thanks so much for such a great stay!

Tobia’s place was nothing short of remarkable. The beautiful home was quiet, private on a large land parcel. with incredible 180deg view of Maine coast. The property had walk trails down to the water with handrails on all steps. It was beautifully landscaped with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables in multiple locations. There are glorious ocean views from almost every room. The kitchen was fully equipped, stocked by the professional cooking class host. The host identified nearby fish markets, bakeries, wine stores. Host was friendly, promptly responding to our many questions about boat trips, restaurants, etc. We tried a long standing farm-to-table restaurant in Camden that delighted our very discerning NYC family. We wanted to cook lobster from nearby dock—the owner provided all the necessary tools. The fireplace in the living room with wood provided made for cozy evenings. The living room upstairs was perfect for remote workers. Highly, highly recommended.

Basha’s cottage was sweet and inviting, upon entry we were greeted with lovely flowers and a note welcoming us. The view out to the ocean was enchanting and the cottage was very peaceful. All of Basha’s restaurant recommendations were on point! We would definitely come back, October was surprisingly warmer than expected and we only needed sweaters. The grocery store that Basha recommended in Blue Hill was perfect, there were farm fresh yogurts in Ball jars that I’ll never forget, how I wish we had yogurt like that back home in NY, also a homemade chicken pot pie and so many other delicious food items, fresh fruit etc. If you’re a shell fish lover as we are every restaurant has the very best! We had a wonderful time at Darthia Farm! We enjoyed sunrise down by the water and loved the short, but beautiful trail that led us right down to the water. We thoroughly enjoyed visits from the farm dogs and cat! The simple amenities really helped us to slow down and be intentional, even the way we washed the dishes. It was all very peaceful and what we needed. Even in the brisk weather of October, we enjoyed the outdoor shower! We cooked a delicious dinner one evening with yummy pesto and other goodies from the farm store (goat milk gelato was 🔥). Shepsi recommended some local hikes and on our last day ,we ventured over to Petit Manan wildlife refuge and hiked the Hollingsworth trail... absolutely stunning, and easy trail. Our stay here away from the busy tourist places of Maine was perfect!

This cabin was the highlight of our 10 day tour of New England! The view from the lake is breathtaking and it felt so private and peaceful. We were visiting friends who also live in Orrington and it was a convenient location to see them, as well as get to Orono for a Maine hockey game. We loved the updated primary bedroom, and appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. And of course the lake was the shining star. I would love to stay here again when we return!
