House vacation rentals in Mitchell County

Great location in a walkable neighborhood of Black Mountain, NC. House is warm and inviting. We enjoyed our time there. Rooms are small and it is hard to imagine 12 people staying in this place. We are a family of 8 and it seemed a bit cramped at times. If you plan to eat meals together at the house it would be difficult to have seating for all; there is no real kitchen table. Kitchen is cozy, but they do have two, one upstairs and one downstairs in a cleverly concealed staircase. There is no dishwasher, so be prepared to wash and dry dishes if you eat at the house. Kids really enjoyed to pool and hot tub. Also the inside of the house is warm and inviting, personal decorations and books and toys will make a family feel right at home or potentially nervous that something will be left out of place or broken. Overall, we felt the place suited our needs and we were thankful for our time there. Hosts clearly love their home and have done a nice job making it a place that is inviting.

Our stay was lovely. The view was amazing. Plenty of room for our seven person family. Go to Montgomery Sky Farm for a tour. It was so much fun. Thank you for a wonderful spring break. 💜

Marks place was perfect for a ski getaway. Well stocked with everything we needed. Ideally located near Sugar and Beech mountain. The photos did not do it justice, the view was magnificent and the deck space was amazing. Enjoyed peaceful mornings on the deck overlooking the lake.

We had a great stay at Jared's place. Everything was very comfortable -- and the bathrooms and kitchen were super-clean, which was great. It was a very quiet community (winter), and the houses are placed for privacy/good views. The club also had very helpful staff, a nice pool, and a good gym. We were happy there was no ice or snow when we were there, as the driveway is steep. A convenient location related to Boone, Blowing Rock, etc. -- everything seemed about 20 minutes away. Jared was also generous on check-out time for us. And we appreciated the very simple check-out procedure.

My friends and family absolutely loved staying at this beautiful property! The house was perfect for us in every way. My kids were completely obsessed with the game room, we hardly saw them because they never wanted to come out! Everything was so well done and spotless, I honestly found myself worried about messing anything up. Seth was responsive and helpful, especially when we had a few questions about how to use the movie theater (which was such a fun touch!). We’re already planning our return trip this summer when the pool is open....we can’t wait! Could not recommend this place enough. Thank you Seth for such a wonderful stay!

Excellent place. Tons of items from pots and pans to extra batteries. The best stocked unit I have ever stayed in. Very clean and comfortable. Top notch instructions for all aspects of unit. Excellent location. A++++

Very responsive hosts. Weather caused a disruption in electricity but the host made sure to update every step of the way. There was a feeling of safety even though the inclement weather caused some uncertainty.

I am so overwhelmed with gratefulness for these wonderful hosts! Not only was the price of the home right in our budget, but from even before our stay everything was so well laid out and structured to make this experience so positive. We got the instructions for check in, days before we got there (which totally satisfies my slightly type A personality) so I was able to plan our trip. We arrived at the house and everything was clean. They had a great binder that gave the house guidelines and information, but they also included helpful resources with local amenities, and even marked off the ones that were heartbreakingly closed due to Helene. These little touches made it feel like we could have been staying with local loved ones rather than a rented home. While this was not a vacation for us- we are certainly keeping the information of this beautiful home for the future! It perfectly fit our family of 5. This was also our first AirBNB experience and I’m so relieved it was a good one!

Ila’s place is a beautiful and peaceful mountain retreat, even more so than the photos portray. Her home is clean, spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, and well-stocked with everything we needed (and then some!) We stayed with our teenage daughter, who slept in the downstairs bedroom and loved her private bath and hideaway. Ila was welcoming and responsive- a perfect host. We absolutely would return to her lovely home again. Thank you, Ila!

Roger’s Red Roof Farmhouse has far transcended and redefined the entire concept of an Airbnb. First of all Roger went above and beyond to prepare everything last minute for us, on Christmas no less. It was no mere lodge for the night but an experience in and of itself. The house, even with all the vast wilderness embracing it, was lush with life. My family is ethnically Chinese, and we were impressed by and at home among the various artifacts and paintings from China reflective of Roger’s worldly experience as an exchange program founder in the country. The house gives expression to values of education, nature, and family. Mindful presentation of paintings, books, family photos, information on the Appalachians. And the kitchen is abundant with beautiful tableware and cooking supplies. Roger was proactive and incredibly human in his communication—checking up on us and sharing recommendations for what to see. We felt taken care of. His house is a home in every sense of the word.

It looks like an old home from afar but it's very well maintained and up to date. you drive 10 mins from the main road. Up in the mountains with tons of open space. The roads get a bit tight but the locals are very safe drivers. The area isn't bad for a gateway, keep in mind you will have no cell phone connection. LTE cannot connect unless you drive 5mins up the mountain or 10mins to the main road. Wifi was my best friend. The house is loaded with pots, pans, and everything you need to cook for the weekend, The grill worked great even in 20-degree weather. The beds were all soft and the linen was all new and fresh. I am definitely looking forward to book again for the next ski trip

Everything great , just keep in mind that the neighbor downstairs smoke a lot and the smell of tobacco or maybe weed is very high, specially for non-smokers people like us was a bit uncomfortable. Besides that it’s a beautiful place to stay 🫶🏼

Great cabin to stay in! Danielle and Joshua are such great people. I was there during during heleen hurricane. They were understandable, fast responsive, friendly and very on the lookout with us.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our extended weekend getaway starting with the beautifully decorated home to all of the extras (i.e. hot tub, games, coffees, teas, s’mores kit and popcorn), we felt right at home! As an added bonus, it snowed on our last night which made my young boys very happy. We will definitely return in the near future and plan to take advantage of some of the things that Burnsville and surrounding cities have to offer.

The place was great. Communication with Carey was super easy and very responsive. Due to rain, getting in and out was a bit challenging but the views and location all worth it.

great place to stay! The location for hiking at Roan Mountain cannot be beat. Brooke is a wonderful host and a great communicator. We have stayed both in the winter and the summer, and thoroughly enjoyed each visit.

Wonderful private setting within an hour drive of almost anything you might want to do (hiking, caves, city, etc.). The house was comfortable and well stocked, which made it easy to prepare meals and enjoy our time while at the home. Definitely recommend!
