Apartment vacation rentals in Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead

I recently moved back to South Shields and stayed here whilst searching for a permanent rental and would highly recommend! The apartment looked exactly like the pictures, was spotless throughout and had all amenities you could need. The location was ideal; walking distance to the centre of South Shields as well as the beach with shops and restaurants on the doorstep, yet extremely peaceful inside. The bed was extremely comfortable. Colin made my stay great, he responded quickly throughout and even had the heating on before I arrived so the apartment was cosy when I got there. I ended up extending my stay privately with him. Couldn’t recommend more!

Really enjoyed our stay in Yvonne’s property. The flat was pristine, very spacious and the guidebooks and treats really made the difference. My mother and I would definitely return should we need accommodation in Newcastle again - thank you!

Lisa's flat was perfect for our five day stay in Durham - just a 10 minute walk into the city, with easy access to public transport to visit the Beamish Museum and Newcastle. Despite being close to the city, the flat is located in a quiet street, with parking permits provided. On arriving, Lisa's partner Steve was waiting to welcome us and show us the flat and all the facilities. It was nice to have a welcome pack of milk, bread, cereals, etc in the kitchen. The flat itself was immaculately clean, well equipped and very spacious throughout - the photos don't do it justice! The art deco style furniture and decoration, etc. was particulary attractive. Our bed was very comfortable with an excellent shower in the adjacent bathroom. We would certainly hope to stay at the flat again on future visits.

Lovely modern apartment with good facilities. Comfy beds and nice to have 2 bathrooms. We found the walk into town a bit too much so used taxis which were very reasonably priced. Ate at Little Sicily one night, following a review seen on Airbnb. Good food, very reasonable. Ate at Uno Momento in town also, which we highly recommend. Thank you for the wine that greeted us upon arrival!

We stayed 3 nights in Karens apartment. The apartment is nice (perfect for 2 couples). The location is very nice, close to the beach, an easy walk into Sunderland centre, easy access from the Metro and a bus stop close by. Many pubs and restaurants in the area. We would like to comeback back to this apartment.

This was the perfect place to stay while we were in Newcastle visiting family. Lots of hanging space for clothes, the kitchen has everything you need to make a meal, and there’s a comfortable lounge room too. It’s very clean and quiet. The flat is near a metro station, 8 mins walk to Gosforth high st and 15 mins walk to the cafes in Jesmond. Best still, the Jesmond Dene path begins just down the road. Miriam is the best host: very polite and quick to respond to questions. Highly recommended!!!

The flat is amazing and bigger and wide than in the pictures. I really loved my stay here and the host is amazing . It will make sure everything is ok and always responded to my messages regarding everything . I would like to thank you for all and the convenience store and the bus station just 1 min walking also parking in front of it The only thing I like to mention is the neighbour from upstairs that play music and make noise from 10 pm to 5 am and it is hard to sleep but that is not the landlord’s fault or the property

The flat was perfect, everything we could have needed was available. It was easy to go around in Newcastle by foot or metro, and all in all we had a great stay! Thanks for hosting us!

Dawn is a lovely host with a beautiful, warm, cosy and clean home. The garden and pets are just adorable. We had a wonderful break and made good use of the pool. There are so many castles and beautiful gardens located a short drive away. Great place for families. I will be recommending this flat and hosts to my friends.

Really nice flat with lovely views over Roker Pier and the North Sea. It was very cold when we were there but the flat was warm and cosy. Peter / Helen were very welcoming.

Lovely apartment - exactly as described. Very quiet location in a residential area which was great to have for undisturbed sleep. Would have preferred TV in bedroom as I like to watch abit before sleep, however wouldn't have been an issue if I'd brought my ipad as there is WiFi available and this is just personal preference. Bed was extremely comfy, apartment clean. Lots of amenities such as fridge, cooker, kettle etc in Room One (the family room) Everything was thought of including free tea and coffee, spring and sparkling water and some yummy biscuits. Highly recommend for a one night stay like ours as a wedding guest at The Pumphouse Dalton or as a longer stay in Seaham. Thank you

Norman and Anne were fantastic hosts; truly deserving their superhost status. Excellent communication throughout. A warm, friendly Northern welcome. Apartment exactly as described and a traditional, cosy little gem. Spotlessly clean, parking on drive, quiet surroundings and a good base for our visit to the North-East. A home from home with everything you need to cook if staying in. Great value for money. Would highly recommend and will be 1st choice for any future visits up North.

The apartment was very clean and as described. It was a 5 minute walk into the centre of Newcastle, yet very quiet at night which was nice after busy days out exploring. The keypad system for the apartment made it easy for multiple guests to come and go without having to share keys. The hosts were great to deal with and answered any texts within minutes. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying here again when we next visit our son in University. Thank you again.

We had an incredible experience staying at Billy's property! From the moment we arrived, Billy was an outstanding host, making sure everything was perfectly in place and ready for our arrival. The house was spacious and easily accommodated all 6 of us with plenty of room to spare. One of the highlights of our stay was being greeted with freshly baked blueberry muffins – a thoughtful and delicious touch that made us feel right at home. The house had all the amenities we needed, making it feel just like our own home. We particularly enjoyed the private access to the property and the hot tub, which was a great way to unwind after a day of exploring. Great location in Jesmond. Close to metro and a lovely parade of cafes, restaurants and shops. Flat had everything we needed for a couple of nights stay visiting our daughter. Thank you!

Lovely place to stay. Directions were clear to follow but struggled to know which direction they were from. Outside area was great, lovely little sun trap! BBQ and hot tub were great. Hot tub had quite a bit of grit and dirt in it though which was a shame. Inside the arches was very cosy and had everything we needed for the short stay. Bed and bedding was comfy and clean, loved the thought of outside towels for the hot tub aswell as indoor towels. Not had this elsewhere and made such a difference. Bathroom was quite small but everything in it was great. Only downside was the boiler being noisy on and off during the night, even though heating wasn't on. We look forward to booking again for the apartment or cottage.

Great stay!! Hot tub was immaculate so was the cottage , sofa and bed extremely comfortable and clean. Would 100 percent return here!! Only thing I think it should be 11am checkout and 2pm like alot of other lodges/cottages. Thanks for the little break

thank you Jen and Brian for such a magical stay! we couldn't have asked for more! everything was magnificent, the extra touches to mark Stephen's birthday was touching and memorable, I was also surprised with a bottle of Prosecco, went to view bridal dresses but never found one I liked and brian and Jen were so sweet and still gave it to me lol thank you both! we recommend this place highly, the pictures don't do it justice, you need to experience it yourself. we loved the cosy corner, playing darts, sitting by the fire, chilling on the beach chairs ( i must have these now for our garden lol) and the hot tub is the best we have ever been in. the garden is just stunning and comes alive at night! the bed was super comfy too, got such good sleep. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to go again! thanks again to our attentive and wonderful hosts!

Last minute decision to have a night away and Toms place was spot on! Perfect peaceful location, the annexe is gorgeous with everything we could need. The hot tub was dreamy even in the drizzle as the sun went down over the fields. Tom was a great host firing up the hot tub for us and recommending the fabulous Crown Inn for a great dinner! Thank you!

Lovely house, beautiful hot tub and gardens! Lovely welcome basket, clear instructions given and the host answered our phone call straight away when we were a bit confused as to which door to enter the property🤣. Would highly recommend!
