Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Matamata-Piako District

Amazing accommodation we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Seemed like the place had recently gone through a renovation including the shower and kitchen. We really enjoyed the spa pool too! Fresh bread was provided and eggs, butter and milk which was a nice surprise :) didn’t want to leave, thank you for letting us stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Vicky's. Amazing view across to Karapiro - so peaceful. There were 8 of us and the house was big enough to give us our own space but perfectly designed to bring us all together too. A beautifully presented and clean property that provided everything we needed. Vicky was a great host, responsive and really friendly. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your house.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful Airbnb in Matamata, New Zealand, for two nights. Our group of five family members chose this location primarily to explore the town and experience the Hobbiton Tour, which was made even more special by their Christmas Feast. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. It was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need. The jacuzzi provided a perfect way to unwind after our adventures, and the spacious living room offered a comfortable space for family gatherings. We also appreciated the scenic walking path near the community, which overlooked picturesque farms and countryside, adding to the tranquil ambiance of our stay. Our host was exceptional—providing detailed check-in instructions and responding promptly to any inquiries, which made our stay seamless and enjoyable. Make sure to use Apple Maps like the hosts suggest to find the house. We wholeheartedly recommend

The nicest air BNB I’ve stayed in and I’ve been in about 50. The porch was incredible, and I ended up sleeping outside one night. The snacks they left for us were divine. I couldn’t recommend this place enough

Margaux’s place is comfortable and spacious. It’s in a beautiful setting close to town and Hobbiton. Comfy beds, blackout curtains and a peaceful setting made for a great sleep. The house also had very good heating. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Matamata or want to visit Hobbiton.

Gaewyn’s place was kept beautifully inside and out! They are both lovely people to stay around and chat withand had the additional bonus of Miles (dog) who was always there to greet us when we returned home. Would definitely recommend and stay again if I can back to New Zealand ☺️

Really beautiful place to stay, quite close to Hobbiton and Matamata. Nice distance from other houses if you're looking for a more private location. Caren is lovely and really responsive.

What a fantastic place to stay and enjoy a rural setting. You won’t find better hosts than Kaaren and Tim. The house is super modern and has an interesting history. We will definitely stay here again.

We booked the entire Villa to accommodate 12 adults for 4 days. The house was immaculate and Laura was always available if we had any questions. The photos don’t do the villa and gardens justice when you arrive, absolute masterpiece of a getaway with plenty of room. Thank you again Laura, will definitely be back in the future.

Carol-Ann was a wonderful host to me and my partner. The property is beautiful, lovely gardens and super cool house. We felt very welcome there and made great friends with her cat. There is also a nice view of the hills from the house, Maungatautari etc. Very close to cambridge, and all its cafes, and Carol-Ann prepared us breakfast every morning with her home made bread. Thank you Carol-Ann for a wonderful stay!

The Villa is super stunning and rustic with all and more than needed ammenities. Our group thoroughly enjoyed spending an evening here. Laura was also super helpful and quick with communication and clear instructions. Definitely would love to go back for a longer stay and possibly even make use of the space for events. We had a huge week looking after a school group while staying at Jacqui's place and the only negative was that we could not spend more time at her place around the pool or enjoying the incredible grounds
