Farmstay vacation rentals in Matamata-Piako District

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Teresa and Peter’s place. Having a second bedroom for our 15 month old to sleep in worked out well. Teresa had kindly placed some breakfast items in the fridge for us and Denver the dog would constantly drop fresh avocados outside our door. The tree-lined driveway ushers you up a hill to the main house and detached apartment that has magnificent views over the countryside towards the Kaimai Ranges from the lounge and main bedroom . The large wooden deck is a great place to relax and take in the scenery after a long drive. Matamata has a good choice of restaurants just 5 mins away. I highly recommend this AirBnB. It is clean, modern, well appointed and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating.

Only stayed one night, but would happily have stayed longer. Bright, clean accommodation that felt cosy. Lovely garden which we enjoyed strolling around.

We loved the tranquil setting and the view off the back. The place was neat and clean. Will stay again.

great place on a fruit farm, we picked our blueberries for breakfast. Such a lovely location, great host...even met "flurry" the highland coo.. We will be back

Sue was very friendly and helpful, which helped make the stay very easy and enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable. I would be very happy to stay here again next time I'm passing this way.

This felt like a private French cottage with all the amenities and strong Internet signal. Swimming pool and Maisey (sp?) the dog were an extra treat. Juliet was very responsive to all our queries, very patient. If you just want to get away, and breathe, this little gem is for you.

Lovely place to stay. Spacious and very clean, especially bedding and towels. Bed was also very comfy and large. Was close to main house but was still private and made it feel very safe. Plus main house was beautiful to look at.

We had an amazing two night stay as a stopover from Coromandel on our way back to Wellington. The property was lovely and peaceful and we even spotted quail wandering around the garden from one of the bedrooms. The house was very comfortable and we loved the pool. We will definitely recommend it and would love to return if we're in the area again.

Absolutely loved staying at this beautiful cottage, located not far from Hamilton. Hobbiton is also only 40 mins away. This place had everything we needed and a lot more. Such a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. And yes, the pictures and description on the listing are 100% accurate. Thank you Susan for the opportunity to stay at your charming and peaceful cottage. We would love to stay here again on our next trip to New Zealand.

Quiet, clean, great kitchen. Jane made sure there was everything I could require and was very approachable. Resident chickens were very endearing.

We had a fantastic stay at Kylie & Logans!! The studio was perfect, very well equipped and beautiful interior. The breakfast was incredible, freshly baked bread and many extra options e.g. fresh fruit, cereal, eggs and yogurt. Amazing! Hope to be back one day <3

Thank you so much we could have stayed longer. The surroundings are amazing and really add to a sense of calm. The bed in the main room was the comfiest I've slept on and if I could I would've taken it home with me. Thank you for the bread and sorry we did not get to taste the lovely wine you left for us. Great place to stop on our journey up and down the north island. Perfect for my family with young ones. Very cool to have kune kune pigs, chooks and a playground right in the backyard. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Kaye & John’s place was exactly as described. It was modern and clean and they were responsive when I reached out to them. It was also quite peaceful and had great views over looking the farm.

Excellent, peaceful location that was just as advertised. Short drive into Cambridge yet an amazing spot that felt nice and private. Tony was lovely, easy to communicate with, and we were well taken care of.

We had a great stay at Wendy’s place. It is a lovely house and very convenient to hobbiton and also to Matamata and not far to Cambridge. We hope to stay again 😄

Incredible stay and our absolute favorite air bnb we have ever stayed at. Sue and Nick were phenomenal hosts; Sue greeted us with quinoa oat bars and then baked us hot cheesy scones for the next morning (both were delicious). The property itself is stunningly landscaped with a beautiful view of the lake below! The interior of the guest house is spotless and well decorated. Can’t recommend their place enough.

this is a Wonderful place. One of the best we have stayed at so far. Tidy, spacious and equipped with all that was needed to us. Hosts are lovely and very responsive. Local attractions are not too far from here. we also enjoyed small walks in and around the farms. Best part is the view from the deck. The pics don't do justice to the real experience.

We had a fantastic time staying here. Our daughter absolutely adored the place, especially the goat. There’s plenty of room to unwind, and the atmosphere is so quiet and serene. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
