We had a great time & really enjoyed the cabin! The place is very nice, well kept, & super peaceful. Of course the best part was the hot tub. It was very clean, easy to use, & very relaxing! We will be back!

Jen is a fantastic host. The place is wonderful, plenty full of things around if you forget something she has you covered with most essentials. The only thing that could of went better for us is the weather. It rained hard the whole time we stayed but we still had a wonderful time, this place works for bad weather and staying indoors. The final day was sunny when loading up to leave, we caught a big Bluegill before leaving . She is planning on putting in a dock and that will make this place much better even know it's already perfect. Thanks for sharing your home and we will return soon. We had a great time!

The perfect relaxing cabin. A short drive from gorgeous wineries and a quick walk to a beautiful hiking trail where we found over 12 mushroom species. Highly recommend this host!

What a beautiful cabin close to the Shawnee National forest and numerous other states parks and wilderness areas. We had everything we needed and more. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with appliances and utensils, and the hot tub clean and spacious and oh so relaxing. The outdoor space is pristine, comfortable, and a great place to gather. We'll worth the trip!

Phillip was a great host, the cabin was perfect for my wife and to really enjoy a peaceful stay. He was very responsive and friendly. Great location! Great Host! Great Cabin. My wife and I will definitely be back to enjoy the beautiful and peaceful location again.

We enjoyed exploring the many beautiful parks in the region, relaxing on the huge deck, playing pool in the game room, cooking together in the large kitchen, kayaking, frisbee golf practice, and hiking the property. We had a great stay with no issues and made family memories at this beautiful house. The house is set up well for visitors (e.g., light switches labeled) and has all the amenities one would expect when booking an Air BnB. Thanks for hosting, Mark!

Shawnee Forest Cabins were a great place to stay after hiking the area all day. The cabin was cozy, easy to find, and very clean upon our arrival. The hosts were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. If you utilize the hot tub, make sure you look up and appreciate all the stars!!!

Tom's cabin is a fantastic place for a relaxing getaway in the woods. The cabin had everything we needed and we really enjoyed the woodland setting, the firepit and bbq on the deck, and the close proximity to some of the best hiking in Illinois. We would love to stay here again.

We loved our stay, it was very cozy on a chilly night. I loved the high ceilings in here, it felt very open and spacious. I’d love to do another’s girls trip here! We especially loved the fireplace and watching old movies on the dvd player.

If your idea of Heaven includes a beautiful lake view in a tranquil setting where you can relax, I have good news. This location is it. Joanna Beth responded to questions quickly and I felt confident that our stay would be a perfect getaway, which was correct. The space was clean, comfortable, roomy, and had everything we needed. The recommendations for restaurants in town were really helpful, and we enjoyed some of the nearby hiking opportunities as well. We will definitely stay here again in the near future!

This was our second visit to the lodge with our extended family for Easter. It is perfect for a family gathering. Lots of bedrooms with multiple beds and plenty of bathrooms as well as a saloon and living room for everyone to gather in. The deer came right up to the lodge on many occasions. Everyone enjoyed fishing and kayaking. Very quiet and peaceful place to enjoy campfires and s’mores.

This is our second stay at Little Texas and it certainly won’t be our last! It feels like our home in Shawnee. The house is clean and has everything we need for the week. It’s surrounded by beautiful land. We fished and had a fire. We really enjoyed our time on the property and of course exploring the forest!

It is an older cabin in the woods. Very nice and quiet. We were able to swim and fish in the pond. The kids had a blast catching the bluegill and bass. The pond has a sand beach. We will come stay in some of the other cabins in the future. Tom was always easy to speak to. We did not have any issues that we needed Tom to address.

Jordan has a great place to sit back and relax. It has everything you need. We will be looking forward to our next stay here.

Beautiful, relaxing trip we had! Little ones loved fishing (although there was alot of muck around bank) it didn’t stop them from having a great time! We will visit again.

Quaint little cabin in a very quiet area, but close to Carbondale IL. Place was very clean, easy to find and exactly as described. Great place for price! Would definitely stay again.

I have been on Airbnb for over 10 years and as frequent So. IL guests, this is our most favorite house ever. Hannah is kind and caring, and she keeps things simple (which other hosts could learn from). No big book of rules or requirements - this is how it should be on vacation! We immediately felt comfortable, welcome/at home, for our extended travel. This house meets all of our needs and our main priorities: well-equipped throughout, comfortable furniture and beds, clean, private, firepit w/wood, and what really stood out for us was the QUIET! We were so pleased that it's the quietest area we've ever stayed - no sounds of loud people - just beauty, along with a wide variety of songbirds, a pair of owls, an evening-visiting deer, and a small babbling brook. How idyllic and enchanting! The perfect place to come back to, after days exploration, to relax and meditate on life. I prepared all but one meal here, we had a wonderful fire one night and enjoyed rainfall from the covered porch.

Great secluded area within 30 minute drive of what must be 25+ hikes. It’s rural, stock up before getting in. Very comfortable home sitting right on a stream that is amazing for reading books at night or drinking coffee in the AM. Serviceable kitchen/bathroom/bedrooms. Pet friendly is a plus. If you’re coming in the next month be prepped for bad roads, seems you have to take the gravel backroad into this place which is a tad rough to say the least, but manageable. Loved being on the farm around the animals and guard dog. Only was able to tackle about 10 hikes so will definitely be back!
