Youssef and the inhabitants of Toujane are exceptional hosts, who welcomed us warmly and constantly invited us to discover their culture. Her hostel is beautiful and comfortable, even during the hot summer which remain very bearable in Toujane. Although we only stayed two days, they will probably remain the most memorable of our vacation due to the spectacular scenery, architecture and culture that Youssef has conveyed to us the passion. Hoping to come back someday, thank you again!

My cave stay was one of the highlights of my trip to Tunisia. Toujane is a calm, peaceful village nestled in the mountains, with sheep and goat farms tucked into the hillside caves. Bechir the owner was extremely welcoming and kind and provided excellent hospitality and food (the fresh local figs at breakfast will live in my memory forever). The short walk up the hill overlooking the village is well worth it. The only piece of advice I would give is that it's slightly complicated to reach if you don't have your own car. I took a louage from Gabes to Matmata and paid for a lift in someone's car from Matmata.
