Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Marco de Canaveses

We truly enjoyed our time relaxing at this scenic and historic place. Right along the river, attached to walking trails in a little park. Plenty of space and all the comforts of home. We spent a cool December evening here cozying up next to the fire and reading about the history of the region. The bridge/entrance dates back to roughly 1660-1740, incredible!

This was a dream vacation - we had just moved to Portugal and spent 2 weeks getting setup. We wanted a quiet week as a family to rest before school started. This place was perfect: perched on a mountainside in the middle of vines, the space was quiet, peaceful and beautifully designed and appointed. Paulo, the husband, is an architect who refurbishes vintage designer furniture. Teyna, the wife, is an amazing chef. Her breakfasts (included) we delicious and the dinners they offer in their adjoining restaurant and well crafted and tasty. Their place is pet friendly - we brought our dog, and they have a dog, two cats and two birds. We did outings to Porto, nearby Roman ruins, historic villages and swam in the rivers running through them. It was delightful.

The cottage is way nicer in real life than it looks in the pictures. It is spacious, well equipped and the location is absolutely stunning. Marilia was highly communicative throughout, gave us a warm welcome upon our arrival, and even left fresh veg and a lovely welcome pack. I recommend asking them to send the location to you directly before you travel as the one on Airbnb doesn't work.

Casa Escola at Dajas was wonderful. We stayed two nights with my parents and our dog and had a great time. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. Breakfast buffet was great! Views and private pool were amazing and the house was very clean! I think it’s important to note that there are some steep steps inside the house and the pool doesn’t have steps down with now shallow end, so might not be suitable for some people or children. Also, they are building two new villas next to the house so during the week it might be noisy with construction. All in all would recommend we had a great time!

I cannot express how much we enjoy our stay at Maria’s. It was so beautiful and Maria was beyond a gracious host. She made us feel right at home and even left us some fresh squeezed orange juice on the morning of our departure. We also had two welcoming bottles of wine from their Vineyard when we arrived. I felt like we were staying in a landmark instead of a typical Airbnb. So stunning! I look forward to going there again.

Visited with 7 people, very comfortable. Good room and water temperatures. Clean. Clear check in instructions. Did not have to communicate with the host because everything was very smooth and we had no issues! Parking was good for our big van Beautiful view!

Great welcome, José was very responsive and flexible on schedules. The house was very clean with all the necessities. I would recommend it.

This place was nothing short of a fairytale. It looked like something straight out of a movie. Marianne showed us such kindness and was so responsive and helpful whenever we needed to figure something out. The outdoor tub was amazing in the chilly weather and the bed was spa level comfortable. Breakfast delivery every morning was incredible and made our stay even better. I cannot recommend this place enough, I hope to be back myself soon.

Everything was perfect. Peter's quinta is great and an oasis of tranquility. Great views, beautiful vegetation, expansive... Peter is very nice and was very flexible with check in and check out, although we arrived much later than advertised. You can go hiking, eating and also experiencing a lot of culture (e.g. Via Románica) in the area. Thanks, we'll be happy to come back.

Clean apartment, ideal for a family with two children, with a large terrace offering a beautiful view of the mountains. The opportunity to visit the Douro Valley, but also Porto, Braga or Guimaraes. Our host Filomena was friendly and very responsive, answering all our questions.

We really had a very nice time in Paul's apartment! We recommend 💯 %! Our stay was actually too short & we definitely want to come back sometime. For those looking for a unique experience outside of the mass tourism, you've come to the right place! In Paul's house you will be warmly welcomed and for a while it is also "your home" A unique experience of Portuguese life in the Douro valley. The area is also beautiful, the people are nice and everything is very affordable. We hope to return one day to this beautiful Portuguese paradise. 🫶

We had this desire, Fatima and Abel, and her family helped to make it by offering us their accommodation of a very beautiful quality, typical, clean, beautiful view. The central proximity to the main places in this northern and central region of Portugal, not to mention the beautiful very refreshing beaches, in the background an undeniable asset. The openness and communication of Fatima and Abel , allowed us to get out of the tourist places and approach Portuguese life, its gastronomy from the inside. A real delight for our daughter and ourselves! A great invitation to come back and discover other places in Portugal!

This apartment is one of the best we have lived in. Very comfy and cozy. With a huge balcony around the whole apartment. A lot of toys for a child, a cute high chair, a high chair in the bathroom, children's beds. Heating + bath (not shower cabin) is a very rare and valuable combination for Portugal. And an added bonus is the curtain in the bathroom, not the glass door. We are very satisfied. Thanks to Elizabeth and her husband Alberico. They are nice, friendly and thoughtful hosts

Great apartment, clean, spacious and very well arranged. Has all the comforts for a great family holiday. The kitchen is beautiful and seems to have been replaced recently. Very good location, close to shops and access to highways. Thanks to Cristina, Filipe and Catarina thanks to you we had 2 very good weeks of vacation in the Porto area. We'll be happy to go back! Cdt
